Limbs of Azura

Chap 1

The celestial 4 armed creature is murdered with one finishing blow. There is death in the sky, it's so scintillating Azura flinches awake, what a peculiar dream. Zeke runs over.

"What's wrong? Did you have a nightmare?" Zeke says in a concerned tone. Azura sits up leaning on an old park bench, startled, a couple of tears escaping from her eyes.

"It was nothing." She mumbles, staring ahead to the red and orange moons.

Zeke's concern turns to worry. "Why are you crying?"

Azura wipes the tears of her cheeks. She looks at the moons again and for a moment she sees her dream once more. But before she replies to Zeke the water bell in the city rings.

"Let's hurry." Azura says briefly to Zeke before standing up and brushing the summer leaves off her shorts. She picks up her basket of bread and grabs Zeke's calloused hand.

In the city, workers spoke mockingly about the mayor, the madman who went on a week's trip to see the upper ranks with some nightmare he conjectured was real. His story was rumoured to be about the moons merging into one big moon, bigger than all of the planets of Spartacree, no one believed him obviously. But when the water bell rang and everyone came to the city to laugh and ridicule the mayor, only a horse returned. Zeke's face was anxious, his dad was the mayor's chaperon who rode him to the upper ranking cities.

He pushed through the gossiping crowd and the dusty gravel to Tarot, the white horse with the strange proportions, his hooves were huge. He tightly hugged tarot. "Where's dad? And the mayor? When will they return, Tarot?"

Azura scurried over and gently placed her hand on Zeke's shoulder.

"The fortune merchant will know what to do."
