1 Prologue

'When I get to see you again, will you kill me like you did in this life?'

The moon reached out its limbs to pat a certain color of red. The bright, blood-like color shone as the light penetrated the soft strands. It stood out from the evergreen foliage that even the stars that gazed upon the earth could recognize this familiar shade. The man that was crowned with the bloody color strode through the waters of the pond, his feet touching the surface of the water but never drowned. His body was wrapped with an elegant black robe with gold linings, his chest bare for all to see. His skin was on the darker side but had a golden sheen and was littered with scars. The leaves shook as the wind blew a sad tune, as if sympathizing with the man. His back was lean and strong, but a tearing vibe oozed out even when he was facing the other way.

His feet made contact with the water and it rippled quietly. Every step he took was met with deafening silence, something he was used to over centuries of waiting. His piercing amber eyes glanced around his surroundings. He had made sure to bestow only the most beautiful plants in this part of the forest. After all, what kind of lover would he be if he couldn't even protect and take care of the garden that his partner treasured the most? The man's lips parted and let out a long sigh. The wind's voice got louder as it picked up its pace and caressed the man's hair. He bent down, his hands reached out to a blooming lily and his eyes were struck with a sudden pain. He retracted his hand and gazed up to the moon. His eyebrows were furrowed and he opened his lips to whisper his sorrow.

"Centuries have passed. Kingdoms have risen and fallen. Humans have lived and died. But my love for you remains unshaken. So please...."

He placed a palm right above where his heart laid and let out a barely audible whimper. The pain never left him even when his people almost forgot about him. He had never ceased to look for those kind eyes and soft hands. And here he was, still alone and waiting. His knees went weak and lost its balance. He sunk into the water and he closed his eyes, letting the cold comfort him. Some lilies were entangled with his hair and he never took them off. He wanted to look for her, to end his pain. But he knew that he had to wait as his woman promised she'd look for him herself. He couldn't refuse as she faced him with such bright eyes.

'So please.... Hurry'
