1 Wedding Bells

It was a bright and sunny day. The Sun shined warmly in the sky, occasionally hiding behind the passing clouds. It seemed to be a perfect day.

In her home, Lilith sat in front of the mirror, admiring herself.

"These white dresses are so pretty! I can't wait to get married," squealed Lilith.

Her hair had been tied back in a bun and light makeup had been applied on her face. She started chewing her lips again, when she remembered her mother's stern warning about not messing her look up again.

"This lipstick is so sticky..." she mumbled, still chewing her lips.

"Lilith! What are you doing? I already told you not to chew your lips." her mother said entering the room.

Lilith jumped and looked at her mother, feeling a bit guilty.

"Sorry mama!"

Her mother sighed. "It's fine. I'll just have your makeup removed."

___ __ ___ __ __ ___ ___ ___

Lilith sat in the carraige alone, waiting for her mother to call her out. She really was happy- she was wearing the beautiful white gown, and she could have children and love her husband the same way her mother loved her father....

She heard a noise and saw that it was her brother entering the carraige.

"Luke! I'm so happy. I'm finally getting married!"she squealed happily.

"Yeah...", he muttered.

"Luke, are you all right? You don't look happy."

Luke sighed. He had come to ask her to do something, even though he knew she would refuse.

"Lily...."

"Yeah, I'm listening."

"Lily, when they ask you if you agree to marry that... that man, please say no."

"What?! Why?" she exclaimed."Oh, wait I know you are just jealous because you can't wear a white gown on your wedding!" she glared at him, pouting.

"No, Lilith. I'm telling this for your own good. So please-"

"No!" she said resolutely.

"Lilith," he said catching her by her shoulders,"do you have any idea of who that man is other than his name? Do you know what happens on a wedding night or what periods are?"

"No..." she muttered.

"See! If you don't know that then how on earth can you get married?!" he shouted. He felt frustrated. He wanted to tell her, but...

"What's going on here?"their mother said entering the carraige, narrowing her eyes.

"Nothing mom." Luke said before Lilith could say anything." I was just wishing her a happy marriage."

"Alright. You better go out now." she said smiling fondly at her dear son.

" Remember what I told you Lily."Luke said with a warm smile on his face, as he got down from the carraige.

He headed off to the temple, hoping she would listen to him.
