1 Chapter 1

"Ok guys. For your assignment tonight, you need to complete the questions from pages 267 to 269 and answer the questions. Evens only." Mr. Smith, my teacher, eyed us carefully. "Don't you forget. It should take about 10 to 15 minutes and maybe even less if you listened to today's lesson carefully."

It's now 3 minutes before the bell. The students already started packing up their bags for next period; as usual.

"Don't pack up, you guys. The time you waste in this period, I take away from you. Also, there are still three whole minutes," He reminded.

I rolled my eyes. Just give up. They won't listen. And also, there aren't 3 minutes left. There are precisely 2 minutes and 45,44, 43 seconds.

The students continued packing up secretly, or that's what they thought. You could even hear their pencil cases and binders make noise as they put them in their bags.

I sighed. This is like a broken record playing again and again and again. It's getting on my nerves.

See, this proves that I have a better mind than these unbearable pests. You see, I pack up about ten minutes before the bell so they would only think that I'm searching for something and wouldn't pay attention.

"... Don't forget what I told you, got it?"

Oh, oops. I barely listened to what Mr. Smith had to say. oh well, no biggie. I'll just check in on the school web page later. It can come in handy.

Right now, I just want to get out of here as soon as possible. I looked up at the clock. About 5 more seconds to go.

Ding Dong. Here we go again.

Mr. Smith was still talking, but as soon as it rang, like usual, the students started rushing out of the classroom. Don't they ever learn? I didn't budge an inch since I knew exactly what was going to happen next. According to my fantastic brain, the teacher will bang the desk in 3. 2.

SLAM! 1. Perfect.

"And where do you think you're going?" He looked so mad, but at the same time, he looked as if he was expecting it to happen. I felt so pitiful towards his side.

"Get straight to your seats. Now." He ordered as he put a hand over his head and sighed in frustration.

I'm amazed at the students. They looked like they couldn't understand why he looked so annoyed and mad as they walked back to their seats.

Mr. Smith sighed. "How many times do I have to tell you this? This isn't a playground. The bell doesn't dictate when you leave. I'll inform you when to get out of your seats and out that door. You don't just decide when to pack up, and when to leave, and when to do everything. Then what's my purpose here?"

Honestly, I'm positive that if you give me a question that asks 'what does Mr. Smith always say when the students rush out of their seats as soon as the bell rings before he finishes his talk?' I would be able to get a perfect grade.

His eyebrows twitched. Poor Mr. Smith. He was going to get wrinkles at a young age. He looked at most, 29. He was pretty young and handsome with that pretty Chestnut hair and eyes. He was white.

Honestly, he looked like a player, but he's not. I have examined him, and I'm never wrong.

"... Just, just go to your classes," he pleaded. Finally. All the students rushed out, including me. Except for the fact that I walked. Being with these foolish kids is always troublesome.

As I was walking out the classroom door, I glanced at Mr. Smith looking deadish and muttering something under his breath.

I felt bad for him, so I came up to him and patted his shoulder with a look that said, 'Don't give up!" He looked at me, surprised.

Well, I don't think going up and patting your teachers shoulder reassuringly is something a normal student would do.

"Have a good day," I wrapped up the conversation and headed out before he had the chance to talk.

I looked at the time on the school clocks. The school is very considerate for this. Instead of putting the round clock where you have to point out where the little clock is pointing at and all that shit, they installed digital clocks everywhere in the building for students' use.

Nevertheless, I now need to get to the lunch room and meet my friends.

As I continued walking down the hallway next to the tech rooms, I looked around and noticed that it was getting pretty empty. It's probably going to ring soon. Better hurry up.

I started walking down the hall, but then I stopped. Wait. Oh shit. I totally forgot. I'm supposed to answer Mrs. Balanche today. She had proposed to me the idea of working at an online writing website or something. I rolled my eyes. Whatever. I'll just answer her and that's the end of it.

Ding Dong.

The bell rang already?! Tch, better hurry up. I started speed walking towards the lunchroom and went straight to my normal table. There were the girls like usual. Callie, Rose, Alexandra, Milani, and my best friend, Ikram. I waved and said "hey." They all waved back and Ikram smiled.

" What's up? Why did you come late? You never do."She asked.

"Nothing. I just got lost in thought thinking about what I was gonna tell Mrs. Balanche today." I replied bluntly as I put my bag down.

This is what I liked about Ikram. I have always felt comfortable around her and would tell her everything, knowing she wouldn't judge me with her carefree attidude.

She was a total beauty, by the way. She had golden brwon hair that she kept straight at the top and curled at the bottom. She had light brown eyes that went perfectly with her hair.

I don't know how she could even be friends with someone like me. I'm just some plain girl that's into novels and always on the internet. Yeah, it's what you call an otaku.

I have plain brown hair, and brown eyes. I can't afford anything except for this Iphone 6s plus and Nike Air Max 97 shoes. I know, I know. They're great!

It cost close to $250 online, and when I saw that, I was like, no sis. The fuck you playing with!? And I exited the page. After, I checked out all the stores, and finally found some salvation store that had it for $45.

Once I spotted it, I knew straight away that I found the prey. I dashed towards it, in attempt to block anyone who also spotted it, and went to the line to pay.

I happened to have only 20 bucks with me, so I convinced the lady to keep if for me for the time being.

Then I headed straight home, gathered 25 dollars, and headed straight back running, since I was scared somebody was going to take them.

Why am I even talking about that now, that doesn't matter! I shook my head and turned towards the girls who were talking about something exiting.

"You guys are always already waiting in the lunch line. Why're you here? Are you hiding something?" I questioned, eying them .

"No, It's not that," Rose answered. "We're just planning to have a sleepover at my house. Oh, You're also invited," she added.

A sleepover?! My eyes shined. I've never had a sleepover with anyone except Ikram.

"Do you want to come?" Rose asked.

"Sure, I'll come! Thanks." I answered as I put down my lunchbox. I then turned and pointed with my head towards the lunch line.

"But for now, you should go get your lunch."

"Ah, yea! Let's go! See ya, Alexanny!" Soon after, they left.

I'M SO EXCITED!!😆😆

I was invited to a birthday party by my friend Rose!! Yayyy! But soon after, I dropped my head.

Sigh. Why does life suck again? My mom is in the hospital and was in need of a kidney transplantation. We don't have insurance, so we need to use up our own money.

My dad works at a gas station. He barely gets our rent and is starting to slack off because of depression since my mom is sick and he loves her. Giana, my older sister, is in her 3rd year and works at McDonald's for 4 hours a day to help with the money.

And me? Well, I'm about to accept a job from Mrs. Balanche, my E.L.A teacher. It's some kind of online thing and I have to write or something. Well, she said I would get paid, so no harm done. I'm gonna try to help too, although I think that we aren't going anywhere with this. We're going to have to loan some money from some rich ass person sooner or later.

I put my hand on my head. I don't feel like eating anymore. I got up from my seat, sneaked out from the back doors of the cafeteria, and headed to the library to do some homework.

Ikram and the others already know that I always go to the library, so they won't be surprised.

Hmm, I have science, S.S, math, and Hacs homwork. I'll get those done and do the rest at home. Ah, that reminds me. I wonder what Mr. Smith said.

I better check the school website for the instructions Mr. Smith told us before. Hopefully Mrs. Masse'll let me use my phone.
