16 Return

[Player has cleared Dark Abyss]

[Reward: 20 coins]

Roran didn't look at the notifications. He was inspecting his shield, looking at the amount of damage done. A huge chunk was grinded away, leaving a huge dent on the left-handed side. This was his only shield and it was pretty damaged. He also needed to repair his armor. The Shadowcrawler had ripped a hole on Roran's side. Maybe he could find someone to repair them, preferably not in his world. That would cause to much suspicion.

Roran only had ten minutes left in the system world. He went to see if the system could repair the shield

He checked into the system interface. It provided features such as Trade, Friends, and Repair. Roran clicked into repair. A small platform rose from the floor, indicating for Roran to place the items he wished to repair onto it.

Roran took off his plate mail armor gingerly, and them placed it on the platform. Then he took off his watch and also laid it on the platform.

[The repair would cost 20 coins]

[Would you like to continue?]

Roran sighed. He had to spend all of his earnings from the dungeon, "Yes."

The platform receded and got swallowed up by the floor.

[Estimated time: 1 day]

[Player reached time limit]

[Would you like to extend your stay?]

Roran's time in the system space was up, "No."

[Goodbye]

[You can only return after three days]

Roran was transported back.

**********

"Roran! Roran!" Calloused hands shook Roran vigorously, "Are you awake?!"

Roran found himself back exactly to the moment when he collapsed. He sat up groggily, realizing that he was on the floor.

"Good, you're fine," Professor Norman said, relieved, "It was an over-exertion of mana. Next time be careful. Over-exertion can result to temporary unconsciousness but can also cause death."

"I'll keep that in mind," Roran said.

"Now, everyone back to your work!" Professor Norman commanded. The students were all huddled around Roran, talking silently.

"Fine!" reluctant voices resounded around the classroom. The students were all unwilling, but Professor Norman was not someone to mess around with.

"Roran, you should go to the hospital wing. The nurses could give you some regenerative food. You can have the rest of the period off."

"Thank you, Mr." Roran responded. He started walking towards the hospital wing.

**********

"Here. You will have to pay one credit though," the nurse said, clearly disapproving of the school's credit system.

"Thank you," Roran took the small cookie. It was overwhelmingly expensive for just a cookie, he thought. He took a bite, nevertheless. It was crazily delicious. It melted in his mouth like a chocolate, warm and filling. The warmth slowly seeped through his whole body, revitalizing him.

"Its good, isn't it?" The nurse asked.

"Mmmmmmm," Roran nodded.

The nurse chuckled, and then said, "Okay. You can go now."

Roran walked out of the hospital wing, thinking about what he should do. The period with Professor Norman was off, and his next period is free. Maybe he should take some school missions.

School missions are ones assigned by the school. Some of them involve killing monsters, gathering materials, etc. Students can take the missions, and upon completion, they would receive credits.

Roran had walked past the mission board before. Some of the missions he could do easily. Gathering Spartoi bones, for example. Others were much more difficult and were set for the veterans of the school.

Roran walked to there now, and then approached the Missionmaster. He took care of all the requests.

"Mr. Missionmaster, I wish to take the mission of collecting five Spartoi bones."

"Of course."

Roran returned to his room, and then, retrieving five of the bones he had, gave them to the Missionmaster.

"Thank you," the Missionmaster said, slightly surprised, "What is your name?"

"Roran Lurelin Tarrey Avarenthis."

"I'll add a credit to your account."

"Thank you."

Roran walked back to his dormitory, seeking ways to spend his ten credits. Hopefully, a sheath for Demon Slayer.
