14 Back to the base

We just got back safely at the base.

I carefully went down to Nix when we got back to the base. Mostly everyone is not here. Aunt Aost ordered someone to go to Mount Everest to get my father's corpse.

"Sevan!" I called out to my brother as I saw him with Shol. He quickly ran towards me and hugged me. I felt pain as he started crying on my shoulders. 

I know I said that I will take care of him but the pain… The pain that we are consuming right now is so much… I know to myself that I may give up but I will make it impossible. I don't wanna let down our mother and father.

"Looks like the others are back here. Let's go to the hall" Shol said.

Nix was on my shoulder as we were walking. I can still hear Sevan snobbing but I understand him.

Later I will talk to him privately. He needs me especially at this kind of time.

As we arrived at the hall. Some of the people sent on a mission are injured. There are also 3 new faces here.

"What happened?" I asked. Aunt Aost and Shol did not know what to say so we approached every team.

We first went to Ryna and Ivy as they were closer. The health team put some kind of white wrap on Ryna's neck. She is not allowed to speak and will be a while to be cured. According to Ivy there was this guy that interfered within their mission and he made Ryna to her limit. Ryna's power is connected with sound. She may have used a loud scream towards the enemy. 

Next is Ria and Laun. Ria is currently unconscious.

"Ria!" I shouted and straightly went beside her.

"What happened?" I asked her partner Laun. 

"Well after we get Ryn. This man just showed up from a portal. We fought him and we nearly won when he suddenly opened a portal and this big man came out. Then when Ria looked at that man's eyes she suddenly collapsed. Good thing that Ris knows how to use his powers so he helped me. We couldn't finish the fight as the big man and the portal guy went inside the portal. It was too risky if we decided to follow so we went back here at the base as we did not feel their presence anymore" Laun said.

"The big man may be Risth" Shol said and it made me paralyzed for a moment.

It was Risth… Now I just remembered how easily he killed my father… How cruel can he be? Even… His own daughter… He killed mom just because of power…

"Eine?" I came back to my senses when someone holded me at my shoulders.

When I looked I kinda felt relieved when I saw Alio. He pulled me in a hug when he saw me trying to stop my tears. 

"Are you alright?" He asked.

"Y-yes… I'm alright. How about you? Did your mission go well?" I said to change the topic.

Shol, Aunt Aost, and Sevan went to Rolly to check him up while I stayed with Alio.

"Well our mission went well. Not like the others, nobody interfered with our mission. But Rolly gained some little bruises because El started to rampage at us because he thought we were bad guys." He chuckled as he finished talking but became serious when he noticed that I was silent.

"Well you don't really look okay… Hey, Come on tell me what happened. Don't carry such a big burden in your heart." He talked sweetly like somehow he is telling me that he will be there by my side. 

I looked into his eyes and all I could see was him… My heart somehow keeps on skipping a beat as I stare at him longer… Was my brother right? That I may have this something with Alio?... I… I don't know I shouldn't be assuming things… And I don't wanna get hurt once more… Because I don't know how I will get up from being drowned with pain.

"Eine" Once more he took my attention.

"I understand if you can't tell me what's making you so down but just remember that I'm here. Okay?" He smiled as he finished talking and somehow it made my heart better.

At the moment that I was feeling better it all became misery once more. I saw Vi with other people carrying my father's corpse. 

My body automatically ran towards my father. As I got there my brother ran too. Both of our tears are dripping. We couldn't hold it in… It's just… We just lost both of our parents… 

I felt Alio's hand holding my shoulders. And Ivy doing the same to my brother. Shol ordered Vi to take care of our father's corpse.

She brought our father to a house nearby. She said that they will just cremate his body so that we can still have a memory of him… Now I just remembered mother… We don't have anything to remind us of her… 

I went back to my senses when Aunt Aost hugged me and Sevan. As she did that I burst into tears. I just imagined that it was my mother who was hugging us. It was not that difficult as she was mother's twin sister.

"I'm still here for the both of you. I will not let anything happen to you Eine, Stevan. We will bring justice to Aist and Effin okay? Cheer up" Aunt Aost said.

She brought us back home. I left Nix for now at the animal care center so that she can also get treated if she may have some bruises. 

Right now I'm just looking outside my window and my brother sobbing at the bed. 

"I… I know it's hard for us… To… Accept this misery that we are having… But… We have… No choice but to accept it… Sevan… Mom and Dad may be gone… But I'm still here… I will not leave you" I said to my little brother.

He looked at me and so I signed him up to come near me.

I once more told him the dream the other day about my mother. The dream where I was drowning in the water and couldn't get out. Only a help from the others helped me escape my misery.
