Inside the Soul of a Dragon

After such a quick defeat, Simon kept asking Nathan for a rematch, but Nathan refused. Simon kept asking till Nathan got bugged and left the both of them in the arena.

On their way to their room, Asher kept teasing Simon about his loss.

"At least I defeated you." Simon tried to retort.

"Pfft, we're equally matched, had it been a real fight it would have been a whole lot harder," Asher said.

"If you think so then let's turn back and test it out," Simon said.

"Not happening, it's already getting dark, and I need to rest," Asher said increasing his pace.

"Sounds like an excuse to me," Simon said from behind Asher.

"Whatever bro," Asher said waving his hand over his head.

Night came, Asher and Simon were in their room. Simon was asleep but Asher was awake, telepathically talking with Elsa.

"Elsa, When do I access the dragon part of your power?" Asher asked. He was happy that he had gained a nice ability, but he wanted to see the dragon part of the ability.

"I don't think you are strong enough to begin wielding that kind of power yet," Elsa said.

"I don't believe I am incapable of wielding it." Asher would say anything now to get her to agree.

"You don't understand, a dragon's power is not just the extreme strength and all that, it is a highly destructive power one filled with rage and pride. My power in particular is filled with rage, rage for what happened to me. If you are not careful that rage will consume you, turning you into a cold and detached monster in human flesh."

Elsa said all this hoping that Asher would drop the idea for now, but his next statement shocked her.

"If you have that much rage inside of you, then you must be suffering, so let me help you bear the burden. We can help ourselves not turn into cold detached monsters like you said."

When Elsa heard what Asher said, her mind went blank for some seconds, this was the highest care she had received from anyone.

"I know I am weak, but help me get strong so that one day we can find this who hurt you and kick their asses."

Elsa laughed when she heard him. "Don't worry about getting revenge for me. Since you think that you are ready, then I hope you don't mind passing a little test first."

"What test?" Asked Asher.

"Just close your eyes."

Asher obeyed and closed his eyes, as soon as he did he felt his consciousness being sucked by a powerful force, before he could do anything he lost consciousness.

When he opened his eyes, he saw an extremely rocky terrain, the skies were dark and lightning crackled like crazy in the clouds, striking certain places from time to time.

"Welcome!" A voice boomed through the entire terrain. Asher looked in the direction of the voice, his eyes landed on a massive figure.

A white colossal dragon lay coiled on the ground, it looked exceedingly domineering, its every breath seemed to release crackles of lightning.

"I-is that you Elsa?" Asher stammered.

"Yes" Her voice boomed without the dragon moving its mouth.

"Sigh, good," Asher was relieved, he didn't want to end up as dragon chow.

"So where is this place?"

"This is the inside of my soul," Elsa said.

"Your soul? " Asher turned around looking at the barren thunderstormed place. "Is this how all souls are?"

"No, this is the outcome of a soul filled with rage. When a certain emotion overcomes your being, your soul tends to morph in relation to that emotion." Elsa explained.

"That's how bad your rage is?" Asher was shocked, this was indeed shocking.

"It is as you see, though I will not tell you the reason it is so yet. Now that you have seen how it is, do you still wish to bear my rage?" Elsa raised her gigantic dragon head as she asked.

"I think I understand your pain, I've felt it, when everyone saw me as a good-for-nothing piece of shit," Asher said.

"This is different Asher, I am a dragon, my soul dwarfs yours a hundred to one, the rage I feel will crush you if you carry it," Elsa said.

"You don't have to give me every part of your power at once, just the part my soul can carry."

Elsa fell into thought. "This is not entirely a bad idea, though I am still wary of it, but I think it will do. Come closer, Asher."

Asher walked till he was right in front of Elsa's head.

"What you are about to receive is not a meta power, it is something far more sophisticated than that, it is a power that your world is too young to accept, so you have to be careful with it."

Asher could not understand the part of the world being too young, but what the heck. "Ok, I understand."

"Good, then touch my claw." Elsa raised her hand pointing out her claw toward Asher. Asher stretched out his hand touching the huge claw.

As his hand touched the claw, his mind went blank, and everything turned black.

Asher opened his eyes on his bed, but what was there was not his regular eyes, but two glowing dragon eyes replaced them.

The next day, Simon woke up and saw Asher dressing up in the academy uniform. They had been placed in their cupboard by the school.

As he wore the black shirt and was about to put on the black suit jacket, Simon spoke.

"Bro, where did you that fit yesterday?"

Asher looked at Simon in confusion, he turned and faced the mirror in her cupboard, it was then that he noticed that he was a bit taller and muscular, and his white hair had also increased a bit.

"I think it's a growth spurt," Asher said scratching the of his head.

"How come? You are sixteen already.?" Simon said.

Asher shrugged, carrying his backpack."I'll see you in lecture bro." Asher walked to the door.

"Bro it's barely seven, classes start by eight," Simon said.

"I have to do something first."

As he said that he left the room.
