Playtime

"I'm not really interested in being a leader or anything as of now, maybe in the future or something". I told Leo, who was visibly tense, relaxed after my saying so.

"But, I'd like to join if you don't mind". I followed up with an expression obviously declaring that it wasn't a question but an order.

"Of course not, in fact, I believe you'll become a great addition to our small group Mr Levi, as we're currently in need of more number to fend off against the other pride's," said Leo knowing that refusing wasn't an option.

"You can just call me Levi you know". I said kinda weirded out with the Mr in front of my name.

"Very well Levi, shall we head home?" He asked as there were others waiting for the arrival of food.

"Yes, shall we," I said as I went and picked up the young adult buffalo Leo killed beforehand.

This action obviously surprised them as this Buffalo was decently heavy dragging it home would've been a tiresome job in itself, not to mention picking it up in their jaws.

As the others hauled the other carcasses home for the rest. I could see about 8 more females insight with another male watching over them and the cubs.

Outwardly shaken seeing me trail behind Leo, the rest of the pride went on the defensive against me, even with a 500+ kg Buffalo in my jaws.

Dropping the Buffalo I greet the rest of my new pride. "Sup, I'm Levi and I like hunting."

Confused on the situation Leo explains the general concept to his brother 'Magnar'.

Now understanding the general gist of what's happening Magnar greeted me in an over-courteous tone. "Hello, newcomer we can see you'll fit right in among our small populace, make yourself at home."

"That I shall," I replied as I brought over dinner for the others to eat.

A couple of hours later...

I've thoroughly integrated myself among this new community of mine as I Introduced myself to everyone.

I find the cubs the most entertaining out of everyone, with them nibbling at my tail and ears.

Rolling over I put them on their backsides and nuzzle my nose into their little stomachs.

"rawr I'm going to eat you," I say playfully to the little ones

"No, you can't eat us if we eat you first Mr," said 'Coby', one of the youngest with his immature vocal cords.

Nibbling at my ears and tail playfully, I can feel myself growing slightly attached to the young ones.

With the sun setting the pride huddles up with each other, as I separate myself from them and lie atop a big cliff, closing my eyes and entering my dreamscape.

Bits and pieces of my past life flash before my eyes as if I'm skipping through a movie and watching only the important parts.

Reminiscing of the past I see multiple memories of me with my family, like when my parents gave birth to my little sister and gave me another thing to cherish in life.

Cherishing this small montage of memories I have I continue watching them as time passes in the real world.

Next day...

Waking up to Coby licking my face with his little tongue, he says "Morning uncle Levi, the others went out hunting without you."

"And they left you with me did they?" I asked a little

angry at them for leaving him behind.

"Yea, they said that they're gonna show the others how to hunt like a real lion." he innocently replied.

"Well, I'll show you how to hunt like a liger than."

With some clear competitiveness in my voice.

Walking around with Coby tailing begins me we spot a small herd of elephants ahead.

"What are those uncle Levi?" Coby asked as he curiously looked over to the giraffes.

"Those are giraffes Coby, once fully grown they have only a couple natural predators when hunted in groups," I said to Coby.

"So you can't hunt them then uncle Levi?" He asked slightly disappointed.

Not wanting to disappoint I responded, "Not if you're smart."

Excited at the thought of taking down this walking fortress Coby follows me as I stealthily sneak towards a giraffe walking off from the herd.

"Coby just stay here and watch, don't make a sound," I tell him as seriously as I can.

Getting as close as possible without alerting it, I end up only 10 meters away from it and decide that, that is close enough.

Getting into position I bolt as fast as I can and leap

near the neck of the giraffe effectively causing its imminent demise.

Now on the ground and its most dangerous weapon completely made useless, I finish it off swiftly and humane.

With a big white light which Coby saw but didn't tell me about as he thought it was normal.

"Coby, you can come over now." I loudly said.

"Wow, uncle Levi you took care of that thing like it was nothing." He said with an astonished look on his face.

Grinning smugly I say "of course, what else did you expect from the almighty me, now stop talking and get to eating."

Do as I said he eats his full and turns to smile at me with his blood-smeared face and says "you're the best uncle Levi."

Grabbing the 800kg carcass by the leg, I drag it home with some difficulty and am greeted by the astonished look of the others with their small catches.

"What you all looking at, you gonna eat or what, cause if not I just have it to myself." I say jokingly.

Not waiting for a second longer, they drip their small catches and come over and feast on the giraffe.

Chapter End:

Late chapter cause I was busy filming for my project.

I wrote this chapter on 2 different days so excuse me if some of it seems weird and rushed. I also found writing this moderately difficult as it had a lot of dialogue as compared to the other chapters.

No chapter tomorrow as I got school then training.
