2 Gabel

Although Matteo was worried that his assumption was correct, he decided that being scared won't help him survive and that in the end it was just an assumption. Looking through his memories, he realizes why his body has changed. It was because it was no longer the body he was born with, and instead was the body of someone completely different. The previous owner of this body was a villager who lived in a small village near Earth ant forest. The village was named White Wheat village and only had a few hundred people. The majority of villagers got by, by farming the namesake of the village, white wheat, which when baked into bread had better taste and crunch than normal bread. However farms were expensive to maintain, so how could the previous owner of the body, an orphan, possibly afford it?

The man who originally owned the body, a 17 year old boy named Gabel, had to make a living collecting herbs found in the forest and selling them to the local apothecary. Gabel had left today with another man named Micah who was acting as a bodyguard. However when they had arrived at the outskirts of the forest, where they had picked herbs countless times Gabel had noticed a peculiar plant with a light glow! Plants that glowed were the results of manifestations of the magic elements around them which when consumed provided a cultivation boost to whatever elements are present in the plant. The boost was proportional to the brightness of the glow emanating from the plant.

Although the plant's glow was almost nonexistent it was nonetheless a glow! The money that would inevitably be provided after the selling of the plant would undoubtedly be enough for Gabel to live comfortably for a few years at least. However a treasure would attract unwanted attention and Micah was no exception and wanted to keep this for himself as his life story was similar to Gabel's, but with a key difference Micah had a sick sister to provide for. Micah readied himself and when Gabel had properly removed the plant from the earth and into a protective bag, Micah hit Gabel in the head with his sword knocking Gabel out. Matteo quickly realized that the surroundings were not the same place where the glowing flower was picked, "so he must have had carried me deeper in the forest" Matteo wanted to get out of the forest as quickly as possible and started planning his escape. Matteo was still pondering when he heard bushes rustling from the bushes a couple meters to his left! When he looked in the direction of the bushes he looked just in time to see a dark brown ant the size of a chihuahua walk out into the open. Matteo was alarmed but calmed down after seeing the size of the ant. He knew that this was just a juvenile and although still a threat nothing that would be life threatening. The young ant noticed him as well, even though it couldn't see very well, it felt the vibrations in the ground from simply his bodily functions like him breathing and the blood pumping through his body.

Matteo remembered that the main strength of the ants was their numbers and started to observe for more ants. When he had felt that there were no ants in the area he continued to observe the baby ant. Looking closely, he saw that the ant had two antennae that were both half the size of its body and with strong jaws that looked like they could snap thick branches, as well as a brown exoskeleton that would be hard to break. Matteo decided to leave as he was still on guard after everything that had happened to him and wanted to get out of the forest. However the ant had different plans and immediately rushed towards him, Matteo only had time to take a step back before the ant reached him and wrapped its strong jaws around his leg!
