Chapter 12

Click!

The little hand of Captain America was crushed into pieces in Clark's grip.

He froze, his eyes welling up with tears. Captain America was one of his favourite toys.

"Ooooh!" Clark whimpered, wiping his eyes and clearing away the tears. After gathering the pieces of the broken toy, he looked down at the Red Skull figure on the floor. With a pout, he poked it gently with his finger and muttered, "It's all your fault. It's all your fault! Captain America got accidentally crushed by me!"

Casually tossing the Red Skull toy aside, Clark went over to the window to see if his dad had returned. His eyes suddenly widened in shock.

He saw a naked man running wildly in the distance, then rushing into the storage room at the back of the house.

Clark blinked, processing the scene, before exclaiming, "That's the thief that Dad told me to be careful from!"

Thief!

Be a good man with a sense of justice!

Protect your home and family!

With the thought of Captain America freshly crushed by his own hands, and recalling the lessons from his dad, Clark came to a firm conclusion in his little head: Thieves are bad guys. And bad guys need to be punished!

Taking a deep breath, he walked over to the side of his room, lifted the bed with one hand to boost his confidence, and then, with a determined expression, clenched his fists and rushed downstairs.

Jogging to the storage room door, Clark took another deep breath, carefully pushed the door open, and stepped inside.

He had to catch the thief and not let him escape!

As soon as he stepped in, his sharp ears picked up the sound of the thief's breathing.

Turning his head, Clark grabbed a rake, flipped it upside down, and gave it a test swing. Finding it too light, he tossed it aside and instead picked up a hammer—one that was taller than him—and strode forward confidently.

"I found you, you thief!" Clark shouted, suddenly jumping in front of the thief.

The man was crouching, cowering behind a stack of tools, his body trembling and covered in sweat, clearly in pain.

Logan, startled by the shout, looked up and saw Clark standing there with a massive hammer, a look of righteous determination on his face. He couldn't help but crack a smile, seeing a kid stand in front of him.

Seeing Logan smile, Clark froze, his face flushing with anger. "Are you laughing at me, you thief?!"

Without another word, Clark lifted the hammer and swung it down at Logan.

Logan was taken aback. 'This kid is strong enough to lift such a big hammer?' he thought, surprised at the scene, but thinking that he was still just a child, Logan smiled faintly and raised his hand to casually catch the hammer as it fell.

Even though he was in bad shape and hadn't yet adjusted to the Adamantium that had been newly injected into his body, he figured it'd be an easy task.

Bang!

The moment Logan grabbed the hammer, his heart sank. He hadn't anticipated the sheer force behind the swing to be this much.

His eyes widened as he realised he couldn't stop it. Before he could react, the hammer sent him flying.

Bang!

Logan crashed into the wall, as though he was a picture hanging on the wall.

Staring at Clark in shock, Logan could only spit out in disbelief, "What the—? This kid's a monster in disguise!".
