1 Chapter 1

My family's always hated me. The reason why is because I'm not as pretty as my twin sister, Stella. *It's a stupid reason, I know.* They say that I'm not 'model material' and that I can't make them money, unlike Stella, who has been a very known model for two years now, and she has yet to mention to ANYONE that I'm related to her, probably because she's embarrassed by my existence and doesn't want people to know we're sisters.

All my life, I've tried to make my parents proud. But it always fails. No matter what I do, I can't get them to appreciate me. Instead, they assault me. If I do something to make them mad in any way, I'll get hit, sometimes by fist, sometimes by worse objects, that could sometimes leave scars.

Yeah, my life sucks. But, everytime I've needed him, my best friend, Jake, has always been there for me. He doesn't know how I got all my scars, but, he understands and doesn't bother me about it.

I wish there were more people like him in this world, but, I'm in highschool. People suck.

This morning, I woke up late, and, as punishment, my mother took a knife and cut across the right side of my face. I don't know why she thought she should do that, only cause I woke up late? She was probably drunk again, even though it was only morning.

Oh, by the way, my parents are alcoholics. And when they're drunk, they hurt people.

The fun thing is, today is my first day at my new highschool. So, here I am, scared to walk through the door, because I don't want to be bullied again, like how I was in my old school. I decided that I would just keep my head down so no one could see my face.

Bad idea.

I ended up running into a girl named Brittney, who just so happens to be the school's 'popular girl', who was also holding coffee and was wearing what seems to be a real expensive dress. You could guess what happens next.

So, when she turned around, wide-eyed and looking for the culprit, to see a hooded girl on the floor, she cursed me out, yelling at me about the price of everything she was wearing, then took her friend's smoothie, and dumped it onto me. Close to tears, I got up and ran into the opposite direction, deciding to just skip my first class.

When I found the bathroom, I opened the door, to see another girl standing there, doing her makeup in the mirror.

"Oh, sorry... I'll just go look for another bathroom...", I said, embarrassed about my appearance, when she told me to stop, and of course, by reflex, I listened.

"Don't apologize, come here. What size do you wear?", she asked with a kind smile on her face.

After telling her, she said we wore the same size, she dug into her backpack, grabbed some clothes, and tossed them to me.

" Thanks..."

When I was changed and out of the stall, I was hiding my face, and she told me to lift my head up so she can see it.

"Okay, why would you hide your face? You're so flipping beautiful, girl!"

"Oh, uh, thank you. People don't really ever say that to me", I say, blushing. I felt really awkward and embarrassed, and all I wanted was to leave.

"Well, just know you are. What class you going to next?"

"Uhh, I have History with Mr. Han for my second period. Unfortunately, I don't know where that is, hahah"

"Oh, I can take you! I'm going there, too. Come, let's go."

When we got to the class, the bell had already rang, indicating the end of first period. Since I was new, I had to go talk to the teacher about where I'd sit and all those things. After class had started, I didn't realize that I was spaced out, cause when I felt a hand on my shoulder, I almost screamed. I turned around to see a very good looking guy staring at me.

"Hey, newbie. You got a pen I could borrow?"

"Uh, yeah, here", I say, handing him mine.

"Thanks, newbie"

I didn't like that he kept calling me that, but, I kept my cool and reached into my bag for another pen

The day went by quick, and soon, I was on my way back home, which, to my inconvenience, was a thirty minute walk, since I didn't own a car for myself. I got lost fifteen minutes into my walk, and ended up in a really sketchy area. I took my phone out to check where I was, but my phone was dead. 'Well, that's just great. Guess I'll just have to assume which way is right, now'

Not even five minutes later I ran into a group of guys. Very, very mean looking guys, might I add.

"I am so, so sorry, sir. I didn't see you there."

He looked me up and down, looked at his buddies, then smirked, creepily.

"Say, what's your name, sweetheart?"

"Why would I tell you that? I don't have a reason to."

He grabbed the collar of my shirt, pulled me closer to him, then growled, "I asked you a question, sweetheart. You may just wanna answer, unless you want to be punished badly." He turned towards his friends again and laughed. I then realized what he meant. He turned back to my direction, and stared at me, as if waiting for my answer.

"Uh, L-Libby..."

"See, not that hard, was it, sweetheart?" He let go of my shirt then stepped back a little. Once again, he looked back to his friends, then back to me again. "I'll tell you what; For your cooperation, you can go, but you can't tell anyone about us, got it?"

I was confused as to what he meant by those words, but I just nodded, and before I knew it, I was on my way again, trying to find my way back.
