11 Murdering Chickens

After the failure of the young man Favored By Heavens, others were afraid to try out that special play style..

Following their normal procedure, the remaining spots for the village elder's quest quickly filled up.

"Thank you youths! I appreciate your help. Please help the village to the best of your abilities…" The elder spoke and scrutinize the players he accepted. He looked at Xia Shishu and spoke again, "As for the one leading this group, I hope Little Turtle will lead…"

Xia Shishu's eyes brighten up. Second Reality really does know it's stuff. They're willingly giving him chances to role play!

"Humph! Mortal if you want me to lead then I'll need five times the payment! I don't work for free!" Xia Shishu snorted and acted out again. It's not that he doesn't want to lead, it's just that he doesn't have any experience in leading a MMORPG party! But he doesn't want to look stupid so he pretended to be an immortal once again… because you're supposed to role play in role playing games??

The village elder wouldn't want him to lead anymore since he asked for more payment right?

NOPE!

"Yes Yes....Mister Little Turtle, I will accept your conditions… Even though it's a little much, with you participating and leading, I feel relieved." The village elder said in a flattering tone.

[Ding! Quest reward has changed to 5x the normal amount. With the condition of you being the party leader.] is what popped up in front of Xia Shishu.

Other players that has the quest staggered. They looked at Xia Shishu with despair.

Bro it might be alright for us if you just accepted the party leader position but why the heck do you have to request for a pay raise?! HUH!?!

Even though they were unwilling, the village elder had already sneakily ran away.

The quest required them to be in a group, so they won't be able to get their reward if they leave. Quests give out quite a lot of EXP.

Xia Shishu and his party went east of the village and arrived at the Eastern Village Farms where Wild Chicken gathered. The party wasn't suspicious at Xia Shishu at all. They can't see his level since all character's level on the rankings and party is set to private on default and would only show up if the setting is changed.

About 20 or so Wild Chicken could be seen roaming the farms, occasionally dipping their head to the ground and gobble some plants. They often cluck, and their clucks were annoying.. especially when the sun is about to set in Second Reality. They're only supposed to do it when it rises!

Xia Shishu withdrew his Beginner Wooden Sword and charged towards the nearest Wild Chicken.

The party of 5 players was shocked. Their leader didn't lead!

"Party leader! What are you doing?!" The player named Mu Litong expressed his dissatisfaction towards Xia Shishu.

"I'm slaughtering wild chickens?" Xia Shishu was confused as the turned around to look at Mu Litong. Their quest is to kill chickens so he was going to kill chickens!

"I'm asking you about our party formation and distribution of loots!" Mu Litong was already mad that his party leader didn't equip his strong armor and sword.

In his eyes, since Xia Shishu was able to earn respect from the Village Elder, then that means Xia Shishu must have a high level and strong equipment.

"That's too bothersome, and I don't know how to lead a party! Kill your own chicken, whoever gets loot drops then they keep." Xia Shishu said with a proud look and charged at the wild chicken again.

"But they're level 8 wild chick- Ehh? Fuck!" Mu Litong was going to say that their party only consists of players with levels around 4~7! Although he doesn't know Xia Shishu's level, he already asked the other party members about their levels so he has a rough idea of the party's powers.

Since Xia Shishu didn't want to work together, then they don't want to work with him too! They decided to work together to kill the chicken, but before they can even discuss, they saw something amazing.

Two hits!

Their party leader was able to kill one Chicken with two hits! In just a minute, five wild chickens have been slain by him.

The reason why Xia Shishu easily killed a level 8 chicken was because his stats are unnatural. Normal players would've begun with 5 points in each stat, but he has his stats from reality! That was the reason why the Village Elder respected him too.

Even if he doesn't have any skills, his normal attack damage is really high. Compared to a normal player, his stats were comparable to a level 25 or level 30 player! With a better sword, he might be able to kill them in one hit!

In no time at all, the 20 chicken was slaughtered by Xia Shishu. Each time a wild chicken die, they will leave a corpse. Xia Shishu collected the light blue feather each time a wild chicken died too. He would've taken the corpse away too, but he doesn't have the harvesting skill yet.

As for his party members, they were still shocked. They didn't do a thing and just watch their party leader slaughter chickens with two hit each!

Not long after, he completed the quest. He didn't think anything was off since the wild chickens were easily killed.

There were some players in groups fighting the wild chickens, but they couldn't match Xia Shishu's slaughtering speed. He would run to a chicken right when it spawned and kill it in mere seconds!

He didn't receive too much EXP per kill though, and his system only gave him 100 EXP per chicken kill. Though he did think that killing mobs is more efficient to level up rather than writing notes in school.

If Xia Shishu knew that he killed a level 8 monster and the system gave him so little exp... He'll totally be enraged. Normal players will get bonus EXP for killing mobs that are of a higher level. Xia Shishu didn't know yet, but his EXP acquisition is different from normal Second Reality players. For example, he will only get 200+ EXP if he kills common monsters above level 10.

Although his party members didn't do anything, it was ok since the quest is easy. They can leech off him this one time. <He thought>

Nonchalantly, he told his party mates, "Hey guys let's go turn in the quest. We shouldn't stay here for too long. The most unpleasant thing during the war for levels was to have many players but not enough mobs right? Let's Go."

After saying that, Xia Shishu turned towards the village and left without speaking to his party. If they don't follow then they won't get their pay! He might even get their shares! Hehe.

When he and his party returned to the village center, they saw that the village elder was standing, waiting for them by the entrance.

His party mates were unnaturally quiet. Maybe because they didn't do anything during the quest.

He turned in the quest to the village elder and completed his [Eliminate the Wild Chickens!] quest. He saw a prompt appear in front of him shortly after.

Xia shishu was content with his gains. Five times the original payment is really good.

The village elder looked troubled, so Xia Shishu knew that there must be a quest!

"Mortal. I know that something is distressing you. Tell me your wish and I will complete it with only two times payment." Xia Shishu didn't want to push his luck with the rewards. He just wanted the EXP from this elder's quests!

The other five party members were intrigued. If they stay with this pro, and they might get another quest!

Trembling, the elder answered Xia Shishu, "Little Turtle, I hope you can help me. Right when you left, my daughter was carried home by my neighbors.. She was playing hide and seek with the other kids in the backwoods. Before she fell into a coma, other kids that were hiding heard a voice saying, 'Are you ready? Are you ready?'. They told me that when my daughter answered 'yes' to the voice, it suddenly stopped and the other kids saw her fall to the ground…"

Despite being a little creeped out, Xia Shishu decided to keep acting. "Leave it to me. This immortal will help you. But I must know, did any other weird thing happen in the village lately?" He wanted to ask for more information from the elder.

The elder contemplated seriously but shook his head. "I do not know. Please, little turtle... Help my daughter... I will forever be in your debt!"

Xia Shishu secretly sighed, Damn! This should be an investigative quest. Quest aren't as easy as he previously thought… "Village Elder, if that is the case, I will have to investigate before making any conclusion."

Quest Description: To help the Elder's daughter, you might need to go into the backwoods where the village kids usually play! Once complete, you will get two times payment. Only a total amount of 3 players can have this quest. You will no longer be able to participate in the Quest once you're dead. Players currently participating in the quest (1/3).

Although he doesn't have a lot of information, he still accepted the quest since it's just a game. He looked at the dazed leeches behind him.
