4 Ch-4: Cultivating for the first time

"Great, I might become a disciple of one of the sect's elders and gain their support if I can showcase my talent during the Outer Court Disciple test," Bai Chenyu mumbled to himself. He realized that even though he had gained some talent later from the drawing function, as he had read in the simulator, it had come a bit too late. His improvement arrived late in his cultivation journey, and even though his cultivation had improved at that time, it was perhaps too late

Maybe the elders believed that a sky-rank physique in such a vast world wouldn't make a significant difference due to his age and still being in the Mortal Realm, or they were on the verge of accepting him as a disciple due to his physique. Unfortunately, it was all too late, as he got killed 

Even though he might have awakened Celestial Qi, Bai Chenyu considered that even within the realm of Celestial Qi, there were various ranks depending on one's physique. He contemplated the potential risks of revealing his talent and Celestial Qi but decided to disguise it as Heavenly Qi, which he was confident people would assume it to be. Moreover, the benefits outweighed the risks, as having an elder recognize him as a disciple could provide him with better access to cultivation resources 

"Now, let's see what good things are inside the storage pouch," Bai Chenyu thought as he picked up the brown leather pouch and rummaged through its contents.

"While this will be useless to me for the time being, it appears that this pouch belonged to someone who at the very least above the Mortal Ascension Realm," he muttered. In his hands, he held the core of a beast, which he recognized as the Moonlight Fanglord. It was a Peak-1st Ranked beast, and only those above the Mortal Realms could hope to face it in battle. This beast had the potential to easily defeat even someone at the peak of the Mortal Ascension Realm. However, for the time being, it was useless as it could only be utilized after refining it into a pill.

"This will be useful to me," Bai Chenyu said as he pulled a silver coin from the pouch. He felt relieved at the moment because he was currently penniless, and having some money was certainly better than having none. Additionally, a silver coin was much more valuable than a bronze coin. It took 100,000 bronze coins to equal a single silver coin, and 100,000 silver coins to equal a single gold coin.

"A spirit stone!" Bai Chenyu exclaimed as he discovered the last item in the storage pouch. He recognized it as a low-quality spirit stone. Even though it was of lower quality, it was extremely rare in these parts of the continent. Cultivators typically increase their cultivation and Qi amount in their body by absorbing spiritual energy from their surroundings. However, they could also absorb spiritual energy from a spirit stone, making it a valuable resource.

"Alright, let's try out my technique," Bai Chenyu said. He began by closing his eyes to study the Celestial Qi Cultivating method inscribed in his mind. After a few minutes of focused concentration, he opened his eyes, having comprehended the method. He then sat cross-legged on his bed and began to cultivate.

As he did, large amounts of spiritual energy rushed towards him, which his Supreme Celestial Constitution greedily absorbed. Bai Chenyu could feel his body brimming with power, and a potent Qi was being generated within the depths of his body.

His cultivation began to progress rapidly. First, he reached the 1st Stage of the Mortal Shedding Realm, then the 2nd stage, and finally the 3rd stage but it did not stop there but kept on increasing. He slowly opened his eyes with a smile on his face, and the system's voice rang inside his head as text appeared in front of him.

"It's still not over yet," Bai Chenyu declared. He grabbed the spirit stone in his palm and crushed it, causing a large amount of spiritual energy to flood into his room. He quickly closed his eyes and began absorbing it with the help of his physique. As a result, he reached the 8th stage of the Mortal Shedding Realm.

"Nice! This is what it feels like to be a cultivator," Bai Chenyu exclaimed, an expression of joy on his face. He was a bit surprised to have reached the 8th stage of the Mortal Shedding Realm in such a short amount of time. He knew that he had to pause for the time being, as it would take some time to increase his cultivation further. However, he was confident that his cultivation speed would be the fastest among all the cultivators thanks to his unique physique.

" Stats" Bai Chenyu mumbled as his stats appeared in front of him and this time he could see his physique and cultivation showing as well

"Bai Chenyu, open the door!" Elder Mu banged on the door, his grumpy voice seeping into the room.

"Yawn, yes, Elder Mu. I'm getting out of bed this instant," Bai Chenyu faked a loud yawn and adopted a lethargic tone, even though he was actually waiting for Elder Mu.

"You've woken up late again," Elder Mu said, wearing a sly grin as he noticed Bai Chenyu's drowsy eyes.

"Sorry, Elder Mu, I will do the extra chores right away," Bai Chenyu said in a panicked voice, which he clearly faked and Elder Mu looked satisfied seeing his panicked look

"You can do that later. Today, I will check if all the trial disciples have awakened their roots or not. Come to my abode with the others," Elder Mu said with a malicious smile on his face.

"Finally, hehe," Bai Chenyu chuckled when he saw Elder Mu leave, knowing that the time had finally come.
