7 What exactly am I to this agency?

Ren shook his head, there was no way he was going to sit without getting some sort of preview.

"If you think I'd be so stupid as to listen to that crap, lady you've got the wrong person."

Arisa gave an eye-shut smile trying her best to calm her thoughts before she speaks.

"Ren... Ren... Ren..." She repeated in a sing-song manner.

Adjusting her dress, she opened her legs so that she could be more comfortable. "Do you know the seriousness of you refusing to sit on that chair?"

Ren looked back at the chair and raised a brow before he spoke, "am I meant to care about that? You might as well be planning to brainwash me."

"Ahahaha!" Arisa let out a chuckle at his reasoning.

Getting to her feet, she slowly made her way to him.

Clip!

Clop!

Clip!

Ren looked down at the perpetrator of that sound then back up at her face.

He stood his ground, flinching wasn't an option nor would he allow her to feel his uneasiness with her approach.

"Did you think if I wanted to brainwash you, I wouldn't have done so when you were still unconscious?" She said with a smirk.

She placed her hands on his shoulders, pressing her bust on him, and leaned forward so she could whisper in his ear.

'You don't have to be this close! We are the only ones here anyways.' Ren held his breath.

"Either you sit willingly and know to what extent you can go while sitting on that chair or you are forced to do so anyway." She hissed in his ear, pulling away slowly so they could lock gazes.

Ren gulped, her options weren't giving him any choice to go with.

Pulling away, she walked up to the chair and placed her hand on the backrest. "Be a good boy and sit."

"Give me one good reason why I should trust what you say," Ren requested as he was skeptical about how a chair could solve all his questions.

Arisa tilted her head to his request, and a smile gradually began to build on her lips.

"You're not the trusting type and frankly I like that." She nodded her head in understanding, slapping the back of the chair playfully.

"So..." Ren's voice trailed, her words had not explained what he needed to know.

"Ever wondered how we found you? How can you do some hocus pocus? Why were you chosen out of dozens of assholes that tried to kill themselves?" She shot back with a question, her face stern as she spoke.

'Ouch!' Ren winced at her latter words, it felt like a direct slap to his aching heart. Although he had tried and failed at his attempt, it was far from it being just a little occurrence.

Clearing his throat, he nodded once to her question, indeed he was curious about it. If he couldn't get the information and he manages to escape, there's no guarantee that the blue portal wouldn't suck him up again like a vacuum.

Clapping her hands together, she whooped, glad that she had made a successful headway with Ren.

"It would interest you to know that this chair was programmed to tap into your system and fill you in on the right answers." She pointed at the chair repeatedly with a plastered smile.

"Hmm..." Ren hummed as he narrowed his eyes.

Arisa batted her lashes and put up pouty lips. "I find joy in killing anyone but you."

'Is that meant to calm me?' the corner of Ren's lips twitched at how clueless Arisa was with the way she arranged her words.

"Those are words that shouldn't come out of your lips." Ren cautioned, shaking his head.

'It's also a little unsettling.' He added in his thoughts.

"Agreed." Arisa eagerly accepted his words without complaint. Her gaze switched from him then to the chair.

Ren let out a sigh, the faster he was done with it, the faster he could leave the moment he had gone through whatever lay in store for him.

He took short steps towards the chair. When he had gotten to his destination, he placed his hands on the armrest and had his bottom hovering above the seat.

"Ren, that's an innocent chair, nothing is going to stick up your ass." Arisa laughed at how untrusting Ren was.

"Thanks for comforting my innocent soul." Ren sarcastically replied, sitting down after he felt provoked.

Zzzt!

"Mmmf!" Ren's breath hitched at the course of electricity that traveled into his body.

A blue ray passed across his body which caused a tingly sensation in his body.

A translucent screen opened up in front of him.

[Brain scan in progress]

[Sui, level A identified]

[Color: Red]

[Would you like to know what a Sui is?]

[Yes/No]

Ren's eyes doubled in size to the information displayed in front of him.

He forced his gaze towards Arisa, she gave a thumbs up. "I can't see your translucent window anyways, so don't worry about me."

'Worry about you? You could become invisible, I might consider worrying then.' Ren rolled his eyes and brought his attention back to the window.

"Yes!" He whispered.

Ding!

[Sui is an essence that comes from within. It is part of humans, triggered by overcoming the traumatic influence of their different situations which majorly consist of suicide survivors]

[Exp +2]

'So my situation is suicide huh? How lovely!' Ren sneered in his thoughts and rolled his eyes.

[Only a portion of people can bend this essence to their will. Which comes in the form of a system for each Venator. A training facility was created to make sure those who can wield Sui wield it responsibly]

[Exp +2]

"So this agency is what? A training facility for Venators?" Ren mumbled, just enough for Arisa to listen.

"That is correct." Arisa affirmed with a nod, "you were chosen for a reason."

Pushing himself off the chair, he shook his head so he could clear his mind. "You talk about 'chosen' yet you speak to me like I am not worth the word, not that I care." He mumbled on the latter part.

Arisa raised a brow to his words yet allowed him to let out all the steam and questions he had burning in his mind.

"Your little chair forgot to clarify something." He let out a strained laugh.

"What's that?" Arisa questioned, folding her arms under her bust and holding his glare.

"What exactly am I to this agency?" He questioned, his green eyes glowing with rage and a mind full of confusion.
