Already planning for her funeral?!

It was a peaceful day. The morning was beautiful and lively. The Anderson family of four were happily packing their things and were ready to head for the airport. Evana was enjoying the breeze with her eyes closed as it swept past her beautiful fair skin, making her long black hair flutter gently. She was to become 17 in a week. She was seated on the back seat of the car along with her brother Joel. He looked utterly bored as he stared at his sister with his pair of beautiful blue eyes and had an irritated look on his handsome fair face as he knitted his thin and slender eyebrows. He then punched his sister on her shoulders. Evana opened her sky blue eyes and stared at her brother with an irritated look,"What?"

"What do mean by 'what' . I almost thought you died oh come don't look at me like that if I hadn't checked on you I would have thought that you died while dreaming. But don't worry sis even if you die I will be the one to step forward and do the funeral and also I will help the reporters to give a suitable headlines so that you can rest in peace" said Joel with a innocent and a 'worry' look in his eyes.

Evana stared at him with a look of utter disbelief. She had not died yet and this so-called brother of hers was already planning of her funeral and was even thinking of headlines regarding her death! She then looked at Joel and stomped his foot with her heels." Ouch sis what was that for? You are so cruel!" howled Joel as he held on to his dear foot. A man's laughter was heard from the front seat of the car " oh kids looking at both of you reminds me of my youth days. Me and your dad used to hang out a lot by that time" he said as took a glance at the man in the driver seat.

This man was called Andy. He was their father's close and best buddy from their college days. They always used to hang around and they never got seperated even after marriage. Their father Jason had married their mother Kendra but Andy prefered to be unmarried. Andy was like a second father to Evana and Joel and always liked playing with them since they were young. He mostly spent his time with the Anderson family and was always considered as a family. He was also like another father to the siblings. Even this trip to Canada from Mexico was planned by him. He thought it would be nice place for their vacation. Joel was to turn 15 in a month so the plan also included celebrating his birthday in Canada and come back to Mexico after a month and a half.

" Yeah Dad 2 you must have enjoyed a lot during those days until mum came....."

"Joel!" said Kendra as she glared at her son. Andy burst out laughing and said " Oh come on Kendra he is just a small kid." Kendra glared at Andy and gave him a ' I have never met a 15 year old kid' look and turned away. Evana and Jason couldn't help but smile. Evana resembled her mother a lot when she smiles but the sky blue eyes and jet black hair was from her father whereas Joel resembled his father in his appearance and his straight and shot brownish black hair was from his mother.

They reached the airport by midday and boarded the airplane in about half an hour. Evana and Joel sat together while Andy, Kendra and Jason sat together. It was a 4 hours flight and it would take them a hour to reach their cottage in Canada. So after reaching the cottage, they planned on setting up a camp fire to enjoy the night and start site seeing the next day. But little did they know that this night will be their last happy night together.....

Apparently Evana started ignoring Joel who was spouting nonsense beside her and started browsing through her phone. This made Joel bored like hell as he too took out his phone only to find just four percent remaining so he had not other option as he put away his phone. He then regretted not bringing along his power bank with him and also knew that no one would give one to him too as they were all 'busy' people. He was utterly bored sitting beside his boring sister and dozed of on her shoulders.

Evana was looking through her chats when suddenly she felt something heavy fall on her shoulders and she turned her head to find her brother's big head resting on her shoulders. It had only been am hour and this guy had already dozed off! But then she looked at her brother's peaceful face and a smile appeared on her beautiful face as she continued to browse through her phone without disturbing him.

' It's peaceful when this guy is not awake I wish he could be like this forever' she thought and then continued to browse through her phone again.

Two hours had passed and Evana's shoulder became numb. Just when she was about to change Joel's position, he knitted his brows and slightly moved then slowly opened his dark blue eyes and then suddenly sat straight. Due to this sudden movement Evana did not have time to dodge because when she was about to change his sleeping position she leant a little forward and got hit hard on her chin with his head. Both of them howled in pain but Evana felt more painful than Joel.

Evana clutched her chin while she cursed Joel " You idiot why did you get up so suddenly.Can't you slowly get up like a normal human being" "What! Are you telling me that I am not a human being!? And but the way it was your fault not to dodge. Who asked you to be so lousy" Joel said while rubbing the place where his head hit her chin. Evana stared at him and replied mockingly " I am not like you because I am a human being and human being cannot move fast like other animals." " Oh yeah -" Joel started but was cut off by Kendra's angry voice " Enough! Did you both still think that you are kids? And did the two of you forget how to behave in a public place!?"

It was then that Joel and Evana noticed that they caused quite a lot of commotion and a few people were staring at them. They both looked embarassed and immediately stopped talking and put their heads down in embarrassment. But they still glared at each other. After that Joel stopped playing pranks on Evana for the time being and the rest of the journey went silently.

After an hour they reached Canada and then boarded a cab from the airport. They had booked a cottage that was near the forests and there were no people living near the area. After an hour's drive they finally reached the cottage. It was indeed splendid and there was even a beautiful small lake present in front of the cottage and the cottage itself was surrounded by trees.

Evana was a nature lover and she really loved this place just as she took a glance at it. They then went inside the cottage. The interior was splendid as the walls and the floor was made of wood. The furnitures looked marvellous and soo beautiful and gave the cottage an ancient look. The cottage had three rooms. The sibilings were put in one room and the mother and father stayed together while Andy had a separate one. They all loved their rooms and enjoyed their stay while talking and laughing in the living room.

But little did they know that this will be the last time they laugh together and that this night will be their last night together...
