11 My Misadventures And Their Misunderstandings (1)

Esther came to the library early and saw Parker thinking deeply because of what she witnessed last night.

"Parker," Esther calls her.

"Oh... Esther! I-It's good to see you..."

"....You saw it last night."

"Freaking detective..."

They went to the counter as Esther explains everything,

"My feet were hurt from all that falling."

"You're honest now? Do you realize how much trauma I've gone through the whole night?"

"Your imagination is the wildest animal that you could ever tame. But as for you... I understand you think that way because you're a slut."

"Shut. Up."

"You're not even innocent.."

"I'm. Warning. You."

"And basically maybe you had a ton of boyfriends so... Why be shocked? You probably had such enjoyment."

Parker furiously jumps at her, but Esther holds her wrists but Parker bites her head. As the two wrestle on the floor, Heather happened to see all the action and let herself entertained by the fight.

When Parker has gotten hold of a book, she tries to smack it on Esther's head but failed as she was being tickled. Parker gets off of her and Esther stands up victorious.

Heather commented, "For a second there, I thought you two were going to be homosexuals."

"Parker attempted to, but I refused," Esther replied.

"I'm not gonna apologize for what you said! And even more, after you said that!" Parker exclaimed and she walked away from them.

"Ouch, that hurts." Heather joked.

"I saw that one coming." Esther sits down behind the counter.

"Should I do something about it?"

"You don't need to, it'll all work out somehow in the end."

"Although that only happens in movies."

"If it's based on real-life, then it'll happen in real life."

"You know, people say don't believe all the things the television tells you."

"Like the television tells me that today is going to be sunny but I won't believe it so I'll stay at home because it's raining."

"Wait... That's not what I meant.."

"Or when they say that there's a killer on the loose in these streets, and the television says that I shouldn't go outside in the middle of the night. But I won't believe it and instead, I'll do the opposite."

"Esther I think you got the wrong idea..."

"...No I got it, I was just joking."

"Phew... Please don't get it wrong.."

"Do you notice that our topic has drifted from our fight to television?"

"Hey, you're right..."

"To manipulate the conversation, you need to slowly change the topic that also relates to the previous topic. You might do this accidentally, but for those who do it on purpose are incredibly impressive."

"Should I talk to Parker?"

"If you want, but I'll doubt she'll talk about unsexual topics."

"Wait really?"

"No."

"Please make your jokes a little funnier."

"Do I need a teacher, when I'm already the teacher? Where is Asher for goodness sake, don't tell me he's being a superhero again."

Heather went to see if Parker is doing fine than Esther... But she was wrong, Parker had it worse. She was starting to bite the books that Esther saved for later.

Heather's jaw dropped as she saw the peculiarity, "Uhh... Parker, you hungry?"

"Not now Heather... I'm secretly taking revenge from all the insults that woman has given me..."

"Are those even edible?"

"It came from trees so I guess it's fine..." She continues to chew the books, even the ones that are limited edition.

"She's not gonna like that.."

"That's the point."

"Why are you guys like this in the first place anyway?"

Parker became silent for a second and answered, ".It's not that serious.."

"It's not that serious? The way you were fighting her earlier looked serious. I know there's something going on, and at least tell me."

Parker thought while sweating nervously, 'I can't tell her that I mistakenly thought that Esther and Asher were doing... Stuff...'

Parker turns around and said to her, "Like I said it's not that serious--"

"I can't believe you even harassed my books. Are human beings not enough for you?" Esther appeared from the door.

"You've gone too far earlier too! This was only fair!"

"It's only fair that you lost."

"Why you!" Parker jumps at her again, taking all the advantages she gets but Esther uses her defensive tactics.

Heather pushed them away from each other but Parker is struggling like a cat, while Esther is doing nothing.

"Okay, that's enough. To be honest, I'd like to team up with the one who has the most feminity and since both of you are feminine, I would like to say that the obnoxious part manhood is the real threat... Not each other. So stop fighting!"

"Fine, I'll stop the unfeminine fight." Parker submitted to defeat.

"And since you managed to 'chew' all my books I might as well clean it up." Esther picks up all the chewed books.

Parker offers help, Esther accepted the offer. Heather smiles at them wondering if Esther was right about it'll all work out somehow in the end, but questions herself how everything worked out so fast.

As she picks out an action book, she saw a bunch of women trying to vandalize the books.

"Come on! Draw on those books! Tear them! As long as people can't read them, they won't read them!" Jennifer exclaimed, much to Heather's anger.

She interferes, "Jennifer Johnson."

"Heather Westergard." Jennifer said, "What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be beating up men for the sake of feminity, especially your parentless cousin who had the guts to reject me and that witch?"

"I may see women as the superior gender, but I know the difference between good and bad. And you? You are bad for Asher."

"Me bad? What about miss control freak? She treats him like some doll that she didn't even own!"

"At least she's not a bad influence such as yourself, I heard from Parker about what you said to him. And that's not how you treat a lover."

"Oh, what are you going to do? Hit me? Are you hitting on a girl?"

"Sounds about right. And I'm also a woman, so I guess it's fair to punch you in the face."

"You better not take a step closer, or else we'll push this bookshelf it'll fall down along with the rest of the shelves like a domino."

Suddenly someone rushed inside the library and shouted,

"Hey, guys! The cheerleaders' banner is burning down! Along with the posters, pom poms, and everything!"

"Crap! Come on Jennifer!" Jennifer's cheerleader friend pulls her.

"That witch got lucky, you got lucky but next time, you won't be that lucky,"  Jennifer told Heather as she quickly leaves.

Heather didn't respond to prevent fighting in the library. She picked up the books that the cheerleaders took, and told Esther and Parker about what happened earlier.

"I guess it's only fair that their stuff gets burned because they tore off library property," Esther stated.

"Yeah... She's got a grudge against you, a big one." Heather helps them reattach the pages from the books.

"No matter its size, it's still small to me."

"How many times she tries to do things like this?"

"So far, it's been the third time she tried and failed. She'll learn how to lose the hard way."

"Blimey. Esther, making enemies is gonna be the death of you, if not the destruction of the library." Parker sighed.

"Don't worry I'll still live for a hundred years. Nothing to worry about." Esther responded.

"Really? The mortality rate is kinda low."

"For people who liked to drink booze, smoke, and eat unhealthily. I'll probably die because I'm too old."

"Hey, you know that I'll still be alive even after a hundred years too you know!"

"Doubt it, you've been eating too many sweets. You're taking the road to diabetes."

"Fine, for a longer lifespan, I'll stop eating... Sweet... Delicious... Forget it, I'll still eat sweets rather than giving myself hundred-year torture."

"Curse of a sweet tooth."

"Have you noticed that Asher or Mercer aren't here? It's already ten o'clock."

"Ten fifteen. And it might be something to do with the cheerleaders' stuff burning."

"Yeah..."

Heather walks around and asks, "Guys, do you smell that? Smells like..."

Out of nowhere, Mercer appeared with a dirty face and a tired look.

Parker was surprised, "Uhh... Mercer!? What happened to you?"

"I don't want to talk about it." Mercer rubs his face with a towel.

"What in the world were you doing Mercer!?" Heather asked also.

"I don't want to talk about it." Mercer continues to rub his face with a towel.

When Asher enters the library, Esther asked him,

"Where have you been? And why does Mercer look like he got home from World War 2?"

Asher answered, "Well... It's like this..."

Earlier morning

Asher and Mercer were going to the library when they happen to cross a group of people wearing fantasy-based costumes.

Asher told Mercer, "Mercer I know you like fantasy but..."

"I know I know, we gotta go to the library. But if they noticed us, we shouldn't say no."

Then they were noticed by a few people.

"Hey Sir Mercer, Sir Asher." A guy with a knight costume approached them.

"Of course they'd noticed us." Asher thought.

Mercer goes to them as well, "Hey Henry! What is this?"

"How are you?" Asked the knight.

"I'm fine, just accompanying my cousin to the library. Why are the witches, wizards, even the king and queen are here!?"

"We're having an all-out war."

"War? Didn't we had peace treaties?"

"We're having a war against those who don't deserve to have a peace treaty, Science Fiction."

"Of course! Why haven't I think of that!?"

Asher grabs Mercer's shoulder, "Mercer, I think we should go..."

Mercer tries to reason, "But Asher, Sci-fi is our sworn enemies, we need to fight!"

Henry interrupts, "Alas Mercer... Family first."
