19 Chapter 19: Back Home

"Do you have to go back? you can always stay here with us, with me." Lagertha asked with sadness as we and the rest of the group were standing on the beach's shores loading things onto the ship, preparing for me to sail back home.

"You know I do. I promised to return before my 24th name day, and I also have some things to take care of over there, but I will be back as soon as possible," I told her reassuringly.

Once the guys were finished loading the ship with everything I needed for the voyage, I said goodbye to each of them before turning to Lagertha and giving her one last kiss.

"While I'm gone, your task is to form your war band of worthy warriors, go on raids, hone yourselves and them for when I come back so we can put our plans into motion." Finishing giving them their last order for the moment, I turned and walked onto the ship. With a wave of my hand, the boat moved from the shore, and the sails opened to catch the wind.

Once the ship was set to sail, I looked at the group on the shore before turning away and beginning my voyage back home to my dysfunctional family.

(Two weeks later, on the shores of Virginia)

I docked my ship on the shore and finally reached back to the lands of my home. Walking off the boat, I did a locator speech to judge the direction of my family and then started my walk in that direction. After a few days, I came to the entrance of our village and took in all the familiar sights I hadn't seen in years.

Making my way through the village, I came across two familiar figures talking to a girl with brunette-colored hair who looked like Elena from the show. Hence, she's only who I can assume to be Tatia, the first counterpart of Amara and the poor girl that will be used as a sacrifice for our family to become the originals.

Walking over, I hear my two brothers trying to show off and woo the girl, honestly making me sick since she just led them on before actually choosing one of them, creating a tiny rift between them. "Well, well, what do we have here? My two brothers fighting over the same girl," I said, getting the attention of all three.

As they looked over at me to see who I was, I saw the surprise grow on Elijah's face as he recognized me almost instantly, while Klaus had a little trouble at first before he figured it out.

"Ace! You're back, brother!" Elijah said excitedly as he walked over and brought me into a tight hug. "Gods, you have grown so much."

"And you got a little leaner and grew out your hair and beard," I said while hugging him back. Looking over at Klaus and seeing him still stuck there in surprise, I also hug him. "Good to see you as well, little brother."

After getting the reunion greetings out of the way, we talked briefly before I remembered the girl we had left out of the conversation. "Ah, I'm sorry, love. Would you mind if I stole my two brothers from you? we have some things to catch up on." I asked her in a way that wasn't asking as before she could answer, I took my brothers and turned to leave. "Thanks, love," I said before walking off with my two brothers.

A few moments later, we made it to the entrance of our house, where we stood for a moment before heading inside. I saw the rest of my family, except my father, sitting around the table. Seeing me walk in, they all looked surprised, but the first to react was my mother, who got up and ran towards me, enveloping me into a tight hug that felt like she was trying to suffocate me.

"Good to see you too mother." I said while hugging her back. When she broke off the hug, she then slapped me across the face leaving me stunned. "What the hell were you thinking! going off sailing alone further more to other lands! what if you had gotten lost at sea or killed while over there huh!" she then continued on a tangent about my stupid choices.

After getting tired of shouting at me, she gave me a hug again before letting my other siblings greet me, which led to Rebekah hugging me in tears and Finn and Col just hugging me normally. Afterwards we all sat around the table as i told them stories of my journey through Norway while my mother prepared food for all of us.

Two to three hours later once we all had something to eat and got settled, we heard someone enter through the front door revealing father coming back from a hunt with a deer on his shoulders. Walking into the room, he stops and looks around until his eyes land on me with a hint of surprise but only for moment before he reagined his stoick expression.

"I see the prodigal son has returned." He says while looking into my eyes.

"Father, It's good to see you alive and strong." i replied not breaking eye contact with him. A moment of awkward silence fell over the room as the two of us just stared at each other before my mother broke it. "Mikael why don't i take the deer to the back to be skinned and cut into pieces." Hearing what my mother said, Mikael looked away and handed the deer over to her to carry into the back before turning back to me. "So boy, i hope you did not disgrace my name on that fools journey of yours."

"I did not Father, their king is dead and buried and will not be able to wage war on our lands again in the future." i replied to him calmly.

"Well at least you did not disgrace my name as a Mikaelson." he said before getting up and heading to the back where mother was skinning the deer.

"Talkative as always i see." i said sarcastically which earned snickers from all my siblings. 'Speaking of, i have to find Dhalia and save freya before i leave for Norway again.' i thought to myself as we each got up and headed to our rooms to get some rest for the night. 'I miss Lagertha' i thought laying in the bed by myself.
