Ali looked at the babbling girl and an unusual thought came to his mind, she's a heroine, isn't she? Going through a mental checklist, he confirmed her status: pretty, check; stupid, check; not a vase, check; not a gold digger, check.
'What else is there, she's ticking out all the boxes.' Ali thought and for the final check decided to use his system to scan her. And lo and behold, he was right.
[Name - Kiara Singh.]
[Role - Heroine.]
[Type/Trope - Adoptive sister, Lost at birth, Tsundere, Candle care, Airhead.]
[Destiny - Purple]
{System note - Destiny means predetermined path written by fate. It's divided in several colors for the host's better understanding.
--Black is the destiny of a villain, leading to a sad and dead ending, start suffering from bad luck after meeting with the protagonist.
--White is a destiny of a passerby or an extra, random luck their whole life. Destined to die and forgotten.
--Red is a destiny filled with hardships, suffering and challenges. Every path goes through pain and ends in misery. But each suffering slowly makes them stronger.
--Green is a destiny of safe backup. Even fate and heavens aren't omnipotent thus people with this destiny are created. Their lives safe and sound, filled with balance of happiness and hardships, until fate changes it's plans. Simply, people with this destiny can be triggered to any other path of fate at any time.
--Purple is the destiny of a heroine. Destined to shine brighter if paired with the hero.
--Silver is the destiny of the protagonist's helper/supporters. Just like silver which starts to lose its shine when placed near gold, people with this destiny are also destined to always be the backdrop for the hero.
--Golden is the destiny of a hero. Always protected and pampered by luck. Getting things before even needing it. Destined to carve their names in history with golden letters.
--Anomalies have no fate, no destiny, no karma, no nothing. They're only exceptions of existence.}
'So I was right, she is a heroine.' Ali said to himself while leaning against the elevator's wall.
'What's candle care supposed to mean?' He asked, seeing a weird term in the trope part.
[A personality trait for the people who'd burn themselves like a candle just so the others around them live in light.]
'That makes sense, but what a way to ruin a great personality with a stupid name like that huh. You suck at naming things, system.' Ali thought, agreeing with the name but still unsatisfied.
'And adoptive sister trope, is she…' Ali thought for some time and finally remembered the dossier Liv had given him a few days ago about Kevin's life and background. At that time he was too angry at Kevin to focus on anything else, thus he didn't even look at this sister of his, but looking at the same girl standing in front of him again, the gears of his brain started turning at high speed, thinking what to do with this new information.
'Should I kill her so that bastard knows what its like to lose someone.' Ali thought with a cold glint in his eyes, which disappeared next second as he shook his head and pushed that thought away. 'Just what am I thinking, she's innocent. She didn't do anything to me.'
'Two days and I'm already thinking like a mad villain.' Ali scolded himself and tried to think of something else.
'Should I separate them? Maybe send this girl to her real family so she won't be alone after I kill that bastard. Cause if I let them be together, then sooner or later both of them will fall in love, and then whoever family this girl probably belongs to will become hero's backup. No I have to separate them..'
'Or maybe I should just steal her away, that would surely make him the most miserable.' Ali thought and remembered some novels where mc just collects heroines in a harem like grabbing pikachu from his papa's playground.
'But harem, me…' Ali was just thinking about what to do with Kiara, when the elevator suddenly jolted with a shock and then came to a halt all of a sudden.
Kiara, who was standing in front of Ali talking about how she was new here and came through a transfer programme, which was an information no one asked for, felt the sudden shock and lost her balance, ending up falling face forward onto Ali's chest.
Though the shock was sudden and impactful, but with the strength and control he now possessed after getting Kevin's fighting abilities through his system, this didn't faze him much. Though by instinct he did raise his hands to grab something in the air.
"Y_you let go." Kiara said as she came back to her senses when the elevator stopped moving. Her face was beat red as she realized she was lying on this stranger's chest, while his hand grabbed her waist and kept her in place.
Her heart rate was probably going through a race as she could practically hear the sound of it in her ears. 'Wait _ is this my heart beat?' She thought and became even more embarrassed as she realized it probably wasn't. The sound of it was too calm and normal compared to her, which was jumping wildly with each passing second.
Hearing her words Ali too noticed his hand and removed it. "Sorry, I didn't mean to.. Tshhh"
Ali wanted to say something but sucked a breath of cold air, when in a hurry to get out of this embarrassing situation, without waiting for Ali's reaction, she pressed her hand on his chest and tried to step back.
The operation injury, which was opened by Kevin earlier at Aarvi's office, was pressed again by his sister and his chest started bleeding.
Opening the buttons of his suit, Ali noticed the white shirt he wore below was starting to stick to his body as the wet blood kept leaking out.
"Fuck." He said as he looked down at his chest and felt a little pain when he tried to touch and feel if it was serious.
'This dumb pair of siblings would probably kill me just like this.' He thought and tried to look for the handkerchief in his pockets, only to realize he threw it in the car after it was covered in a little blood when he was driving.
Kiara, who happily stepped back from his chest and breathed a sigh of relief, looked at her hand as she found that it was wet, only to see her palms were covered in blood, not sweat from nervousness. Feeling surprised she looked up and noticed Ali trying to unbutton his suit with flinching eyes, and noticed him covered in blood.
"You_ wh_what happened?" She asked, not even sure of her words, as an unknown fear gripped her heart, making her both scared and nauseous.
"You did." Ali said with some displeasure and tried to sit down.
He didn't read any medicine, and he had no knowledge about what to do in situations like this, except trying to stop the bleeding as much as possible. So he just hoped sitting down could help.
But only halfway, his shoes ended up slipping on the shiny elevator's floor and he fell down on his butt. "Fuck," Another curse left his lips as he felt a little stinging pain on his back..
Seeing him like this, Kiara first tried to help him sit properly and then sat in front of him too… . Just staring at his bleeding chest with God knows what.
"Stop staring, and give me something that can help." Ali said as he found her gaze unsettling. Her idiocy was cute and the pale face with that lost expression was something he could smile upon, but now was no time to do that.
"I_ yes." Kiara said and started flipping through her purse. Emptying the items inside one by one, while Ali just stared at her waiting and watching, while thinking just how did she shove so many things in that tiny purse.
"Here, this _ take this medicine. It'll help." She said as she passed him a pill. Seeing the questioning look of the man in front of her, as he just held onto the pill and waited for her explanation of some sort.
No way he was eating some random pill, who knows what it is.
"That's a painkiller. My brother got into a fight yesterday, so I bought them for him." Kiara said and gave him her water bottle.
"Thanks." Ali said, chugging down half the bottle of water, with how bitter that pill was. 'Hate pills.' Ali thought in his head talking about his dislike over any type of medicine.
"Do you have anything that can stop the bleeding? A hanky or something, I just need something to keep a little pressure on." Ali said and watched as the idiot her started to tear the dupatta she was wearing.
"Idiot." Ali said, as he just grabbed her purse and turned it upside down. Shaking it until all the stuff inside was thrown on the floor. Taking a small white handkerchief with a design of what looked like a pink heart, he just pressed it over his chest, and took a long breath.
"Were you an idiot from birth, or did you hit your head in the middle?" Ali muttered a little amused as he saw the idiot girl looking at him with a gloomy serious look.
???
It took another three seconds for the protagonist's sister to realize what he said, and then instantly all her previous pity that she hurt him maybe, was gone and turned to anger. "I'm not an idiot." She said fiercely.
But hearing her words Ali just chuckled and shook his head. "Then stop staring at me with those big thirsty eyes of yours."
"What thirsty eyes? I was just worried, okay." she replied, her anger mixing with embarrassment as the scene of their embrace earlier came to her mind again.
"Worried about me? The guy who broke your precious scooter." Ali said, raising an eyebrow while thinking she really is a candle.
"What.. I'm just afraid you'd die on me that's all. Yeah, that's it." Kiara replied in a rush.
"Then why aren't you doing anything to save me?"
"What _what do I do?" Kiara asked, genuinely confused.
"Jeez look at your face, and you say you're not an idiot." Ali said and sighed. "Press the emergency helpline button, shout at the camera, or call for help or something. Just stop sitting around."
"Yo_I_ I was just about to do that, when you started joking." Kiara said trying to defend herself honestly, but Ali just shook his head totally not believing her brains to be that capable.
