17 Chapter 017: Bash

Chrono entered The Arena immediately after they were released from their discussion as it was almost midnight. He did not use the chance the past two days as he did not really have any break that was enough to clear a dungeon and he fell asleep both night without using the chance to enter The Arena.
After arriving at the Arena Manager district, Chrono arrived at Fei's house and knocked on the door. There was no response from the house. Thinking that Fei might be asleep, Chrono was about to head towards the Arena Dungeon when he noticed that there was something under the door. Bending down to retrieve the item, he found out that it was a letter addressed to him.
Opening the envelope, the letter Fei wrote for him was revealed.
"Dear Chrono.
I am really sorry for not waiting for you to inform you personally. When you see this letter, I
would have already arrived back home. After the Management found out that they had accused
me wrongly, they were apologetic and offered some compensation for the trouble that they have
caused. I was given a choice of a one month leave of absence or an additional one month pay of
Arena Point. Being homesick, I selfishly decided on the leave of absence instead of the Arena
Point that is beneficial to help you grow stronger. I would like to seek for your forgiveness and
understanding in regard to my choice. When I come back to The Arena, I will definitely work
doubly hard to make up to you! Remember to clear the dungeon once a day, you should try out
the Player Dungeon. It will help you hone your skills and improve your prowess which will help in
the Arena Ranking. I'll talk to you more after I come back! I'm so happy that I can finally go
home. This confinement is really a blessing in disguise. See you soon!!! Bye~

Thank God she didn't wait for me. If not she would have to wait for two days before I enter The Arena. Oh well. Time to enter the dungeon then.

This time, his opponents were a warrior wielding a scimitar and a shield and a spearman. As per the day before, the warrior and spearman became his training partner. Dodge left, right, jump, jump, left, right, right. Chrono spent 14 minutes honing his skills in dodging and familiarising himself with the two kind of weapons and sliced them up using his poor katana skill backed up by overpowered speed and power before his <Overdrive> ran out.

Abaddon was unleashing his fist of destruction on the fire boars there were charging up the hill while Chrono as usual was proned on the grass and fired his arcane rifle away. "Wave 10, boss stage will be commencing in 10 secondsā¦ 5 secondsā¦ Good luck and all the best."

A huge boar as big as an elephant appeared, the boar had raging flames surrounding its body and the flames were so powerful that the temperature of the surrounding rose significantly. Beads of sweat could be soon rolling down Chrono's forehead. The ground started to tremble as the huge fire boar started to paw the earth with its front hoof. With a loud grunt, the fire boar charged towards the hill. The ground shakes violently as though a massive earthquake was incoming. Squinted his eyes, Chrono took aim steadily amidst the violent shaking of the ground. Abaddon looked at the fire boar and started to sprint towards it. When it was 1 metre away from the boar, Abaddon leaped and unleashed his fist of destruction to its maximum. The word "ę®ŗ" materialised in front of his clenched fist. The word was way bigger than usual.
*BANG*
*POW*
*BOOM*
And the fire boar was blasted into oblivion in a few exchange. With Abaddon's high combat power, there wasn't a need for Chrono to engage in close combat.

The next day.
In the morning, they went to the sports recreational centre (SSC). At the SSC, they were exposed to the different type of sports they could take part in for the annual inter-hall sports competition. Netball and touch rugby (for girls), softball, running events, basketball and soccer were some sports that the halls would compete in. The participants of the camp was then given half an hour to wash up before they needed to gather for lunch.

"Testing 1, 2, 3."
*Ahem*
"Everyone, please give me your attention. We will be commencing the nominations for Hall King and Queen. Each OG will be given a slip of paper to write down 4 names, 2 male and 2 female nomination. We will collect the paper after 10 minutes, please pass your nomination to your respective OGLs. Thank you." A curly haired male stood on the stage and announced.
Just at that moment, the Status screen appeared in front of him suddenly.

Midas? King Midas in the greek mythology? The guy who could turn things into gold? Damnā¦ I GOTTA WIN THIS HALL BASH!!!
Running quickly to the toilet, Chrono popped a head to toe body make-over pill into his mouth and the transformation began.
When he walked out of the toilet, both his cheeks which were riddled with acne scars left behind after battling with them over the years finally disappeared. His skin had a radiant glow as though he had been using skin care products for his whole life. His eye bag and dark circle which plagued his eyes were gone with the wind.
Using the pill, it enabled the user to enhance prominent features and to remove "defects" gained over the years. However, the user will still look the same, just that they will be definitely more attractive than before with the enhancement. Previously he did not want to use it on himself as he didn't see the need to. But when money is involvedā¦

After returning back to his OG, Chrono looked around at his OG mates, pondered for awhile and scribbled on the paper.
After writing the names, Chrono folded his paper and passed it to his OGL.
After 10 minutes, the curly haired male went on stage again, "Okay, times up folks. Pass the slip of papers to your OGL. It is fine even if you leave it blank. After your OGL tabulate the votes, he or she will announce the result to your group and those who are nominated please proceed to the front of the hall."
After a few minutesā¦
Not bad. Looks like the pill really works. Midas touchā¦ Here I come!
With <Omniscient>, Chrono did not have to wait for the OGL to reveal the result.
"Chrono, Tony, Clarice and Rachael. You 4 have the highest number of nomination." One of their OGL announced.
The four of them stood up amidst the claps and cheers and walk towards the stage. When every participant is gathered, the curly haired guy jumped down from the stage and addressed the group.
"Is there anyone who is not interested in participating in the Hall Bash? This will be quite a time consuming event. So we would expect you to commit and not drop out halfway. For those who feel that they will not be able to commit or do not want to participate, please return back to your OG."
Meanwhile, two huge basket of coloured balls were brought to the hall. A couple of guys and girls left, but majority of the nominees stayed. They were then instructed to stand in front of cylindrical plastic containers. The guys were all on the left while the girls were on the right.
The curly haired male then went back on stage and announced, "Dear all, we will now proceed to the voting for the 10 main participant for the bash. OG by OG will come forward and everyone will take a coloured ball to be placed into the cylindrical containers. You are not allowed to vote for the nominees from your own OG. There is 18 male nominees and 15 female nominees present, who will be the last 10 standing? OG 1 please come forward to place your votes."
Slowly, OG by OG came forward to cast their vote. After every participant of the camp has voted, the number of coloured balls were counted and the top 5 for each group were asked to gather on stage while the rest of the nominees was given a complimentary gift. Chrono managed to scrape pass and entered the top 5.
The curly haired guy wrote down M1 to M5 and F1 to F5, folded the slips of paper and put them into two boxes labelled "Male" and "Female" respectively.
"Ok, now please draw from the box. The last 2 participants will have the chance to swap your slip of paper with the other participants." Said the curly haired guy.
After the draw and switch was done, Chrono opened up his paper and looked at his number. M5.
"Would M1 and F1 step forward please."
"M2 and F2."
"M3 and F3."
Looking at the remaining 2 female participant, Chrono realised that the girl that caught his eyes out of the 5 participant have not step forward. Closing his eyes and praying silently, he awaited the verdict as the curly haired guy continue.
"M4 and F4."
Opening one of his eyes to take a peek, he saw her took a step forward.
