4 Chapter 2.2: Best Friends Reunited

Nerissa pushed Chris backwards. Chris ran as fast as he could heading towards the school's parking lot. He forcefully bumped himself with another guy, who seemed to be in a hurry like him. They both fell to the ground but the other guy was able to fix himself and stood up faster than Chris.

"Chris?!" The guy desperately asked. Chris glanced upon him, recognizing that he was the one he saved in the bathroom earlier. But his face was in obvious shock as he realized he knew this guy.

"A...Azel....?" Chris asked.

"No time for talking right now. Let's get the hell outta here"  Azel Price said.

Birds chirping. The singing winds. The dancing trees. Everything is at peace and serenity, as if there were no signs of sorrow. Azel began to speed up the car as Chris sighed and began to break the deafening silence.

"That Nerissa Presscot is such a psycho, and dangerous....this day never ends..." Chris said.

"Oh, and thanks Azel. After five years you're still Chris Caulfield" Azel interrupted.

"Oh..... and thanks... Azel" Chris frowned.

"Don't give me that guilty face. At least pretend you're glad to see me again" —Azel

"I am seriously glad to see you. It makes perfect sense to see you today" —Chris

"Yeah, it's been that kind of a day. So what does that freak want with you" —Azel

"Hopefully nothing after today. So, how do you know Nerissa?" —Chris

"She's just another Arcadia asshole. Your gorgeous friend really took a beatdown for you" —Azel

"Emma? Oh yeah, I owe her big time. I thought it would be quiet here. It feels so weird to be back" — Chris

"So, how are you now?" —Azel said as he began to slightly slow down the car.

"After moving to Seattle, I felt kinda lonely, far from my best friend" —Chris

"Oh boy, I know you came back for Blackwell Academy" —Azel

"Yeah, it's one of the best photography program in the country. I want to pursue my career as a photographer" —Chris

"See? You came back for a school and not for your best friend" —Azel

"Don't you think I'm happy to see you?" —Chris

"No. You were happy to wait five years without a call or even a text" —Azel

"I'm sorry. I know things were tough on you when I left" —Chris

"How do you know? You weren't even here" —Azel

"I didn't order my parents move specifically to fuck you over, Azel" —Chris

"You've been almost a month at Blackwell without even telling me. Nice move Chris" —Azel

"I'm sorry. I totally would have contacted you. I....I....." —Chris

"You know I hate explanations, Chris" —Azel

Chris glanced upon the window as he realized how stupid he was. He left Azel five years ago, and didn't even sent him a text message. He knew Azel was in pain after all these years. And with the fact that Azel's father, Bradley Price, died of car accident just after they left Arcadia Bay.

Poor Azel. Chris thought.

Azel's appearance is different from what he had remembered. There were tattoos all over his muscular body. His hair was now a mixture of brown and blue. And his outfit was some kind of a hot rockstar. He remembered Azel when they were only kids. A pale geek he could say. But he was the one who is looking pale and geek now.

"By the way, let's head to my place for now. Let us chill out for a moment" —Azel

"Sounds like fun" —Chris

"Welcome back to Arcadia Bay Chris" Azel greeted.
