1 Prologue

Blurry eyed and head pounding, Jason wakes up on a Monday morning to a calming light seeping through his window blinds and the sound of birds chirping away as they await food from their mother. Jason opens his eyes and stands up from his bed, walks over to his bedroom window and opens the blinds. Outside light pours in and illuminates the dark room filled with a large bed on one side and a pile of dirty laundry on the other.

"Another Monday huh"

Jason closes his eyes and exhales.

"I wonder what I have to eat"

Jason walks past the pile of laundry strewn across the floor and opens his bedroom door. He walks out into a small room that has a living room on one side and a kitchen on the other. He makes his way over to the kitchen and pours himself a bowl of cereal. Half way through eating his phone begins to ring. Jason picks up the phone and answers the call.

"Hello?"

"Hello, my I please speak to Jason Green?"

"This is he."

"Hi Jason this is manager Brian Teek from the finance firm you applied to a few weeks ago. I am calling to let you know that you've got the job and we were wondering if you could start today?"

Jason leaps from his seat with a massive smile on his face.

"Yes of course Mr. Teek, what time would you like me in by?"

"Well it's already half past 8 am, so how about we say 11 am?"

"Perfect! I'll get ready and head over right away! Thank you again for this opportunity!"

"Alright see you soon, goodbye."

Jason hurries to finish his breakfast and then rushes to shower and get ready for his new job. Jason has been living off of what little money his parents could send him while he's been at university and so he has been living in a small apartment eating nothing but cereal. Finally he has found himself a job and will be able to eat some meat for once.

An hour later, Jason finishes getting ready and heads out wearing a suit and tie. He rushes down to catch the bus. He looks around and spots the bus a block away from his stop. He runs out into the street and BAM.

"Whats going on? Why am I on the ground? Did I get hit by something?"

Looking around with the only bloodied eyes he sees himself lying in a pool of blood and bystanders screaming into their phones.

'What's going on here?' Jason asked himself in his mind.

'I feel warm but really cold, am I gonna die?'

Jason's eyes begin to slowly close and he feels a sort of tugging pulling him upwards. He opens his eyes again to see his body lying in a pool of blood only now from 20 feet high in the air.

"What the hell is going on here?!?" Jason exclaims our loud.

Jason takes a look at his hands and legs as he continues to be pulled upwards towards the sky. He looks like he always has only his body seems to be somewhat transparent. Before he new what was happening, Jason was pulled through a series of clouds before landing on a golden platform.

'Guess the ride is over.' He thought to himself.

Jason lifts his head up to look around and sees a giant pair of golden white gates in front of him. Jason brings his arms under him to prop himself up off the ground. He stands up and begins walking towards the enormous gates.

He must have been walking for at least half an hour before spotting a figure standing in front of the gate. Jason runs up to talk and finally get some answers as to what was going on, although he could more or less guess from all the Christian stories of heaven and angels.

"Excuse me I was wondering if you could tell me where I am?" Jason said looking at the calm figure.

"Hello Jason Green. My name is ****** and I am the gate keeper of this place. I decide whether you deserve to enter or not."

Jason shook his head, wondering why he was unable to understand the entities name but could clear understand everything else.

"Is this heaven?" He asked hoping he could rest in the paradise the legends said it was.

"The place beyond this gate has many names and takes many shapes. Though for you I see that it may not be your time to pass through just yet."

Jason was confused. Was he dead or not?

"Do you mean I'm still alive?" Jason asked taking a step forward.

The entity smirked "no you are just not worthy of the endless expanse that lies beyond the gate"

The entity's eyes flowed red and fire began to circle as it raised its hands slowly.

"You may have not committed any crimes in your life on the lower plane, but neither did you do anything to help those around you. I find you unworthy and as such you will spend your time in contemplation in the only spirit realm other than the gate's beyond."

'I don't like where this is going!' Jason said inwardly taking a few more steps back.

"The place I send you is not for torture but a place for the weak to serve a higher purpose. His domain is riddled with filth that must be cleansed and to do this he requires pawns."

With a turn of it's hands, Jason was flipped upside down and sent falling back down to earth. He kept falling faster and faster and was quickly approaching the ground. Jason covered his eyes with his arms just before he reached the ground but nothing happened. He expected a lot of pain and a splat sound or something.

He opened his eyes to see himself falling through the earth, before being slammed on a ground far harder and hotter than he had ever experienced.

"Welcome new blood! To the domain of his supreme eminence!" said a large fiery devil looking beast.

Jason picked himself off the floor again and wondered how he so quickly went from heaven to hell.

"Now how about we talk about your hunting jobs moving forward." said the beast in a very deep and intimidating tone.

"Hunting?"
