Charlie walked in, "And just as you thought your day was going to be a terrible one."

"Hey! What's that supposed to mean?" I whined.

"Is he not here for...are you two not...is this not what I thought it was?" Charlie asked.

"Depends on what you thought it was," Clay butt in.

"I think you know what I was thinking. Two people alone with only lamp light and the city lights comming through the window. You didn't even turn on the actual set of lights," Charlie flipped the switch.

I blushed. Charlie walked to the couch, took a seat, grabbed the TV remote, and turned on the TV. He knew exactly what he was doing and said, "Why don't you two go into Mina's room to chat?"

"Actually, I was just about to show him out," I replied, trying not to let Charlie get the best of me.

"Awe, why? Shouldn't you show him some hospitality?" He questioned me. I knew this meant war and he had the upper hand.

"I've already shown him all the hospitality I can manage. Now he must go," I replied.

"What a shame. I was starting to get used to him," he snapped right back.

"Why would you need to get used to him?" I asked.

"Why? I assumed I would be seeing him more often considering you already brought him home. You aren't the type for a one night stand, Mina."

I pouted and whined, "Well either way he needs to go, so," I paused and looked back at Clay, "please go." I looked down at the floor, appearing defeated. Clay walked out and I headed toward my room.

"Why did you do that?" Charlie asked.

"I don't like him. Quite frankly, I can't," I answered.

"Why not? It's not like the guy in your class will ever like you."

"Ouch," I replied.

"I'm just saying, he seems nice. You should really like him."

"You know why I can't do that," I looked at Charlie with pleading eyes, begging him not not make me do something like that.

"I know, but one of these days, you have to get over it. It's all fun and games until you actually fall for someone and it goes downhill," Charlie advised.

"I know, I know, but I just can't do it. Not with him. Not with Clay."

"Do you have a bad feeling about him?" Charlie asked.

"That's the problem, I don't. What if history rewrites itself?" I replied.

"Or, what if the fates have given you a chance to rewrite history."

"I should be getting ready for bed."

Charlie sighed with a sad look on his face, "Goodnight."

"Goodnight."

I got ready for bed and did my usual nightly routine. I drifted off to sleep as soon as I hit my pillow. Today was a crazy day.
