28 Come to your senses, Sirzechs

Petra's presence was felt within Zekram's mansion as they celebrated their victory over the successful execution of their plan.

"Well~ Thankfully, I didn't get too involved in this matter," Petra remarked casually while pouring beer into his mouth.

"Hahaha! For 500 years, I've never felt this delighted... I truly owe you for this," Zekram replied, pouring the signature liquor of the Bael clan into his mouth.

They both sat in the luxurious room amidst the lively party atmosphere. Their triumph in the jointly crafted plan brought unbridled joy, filling the room with laughter and cheers.

They raised their glasses again to the long era of peace that awaited, lifting them as a sign of respect for the bright future. Despite factions forming in the council on Zekram's side, it didn't concern Petra, who wanted the original DxD canon story to proceed as intended.

Though now part of this world, the mage still pondered the future. He didn't want to alter the course of time too much, which would ultimately have significant repercussions on the world itself. Thus, he chose to maintain the delicate balance between his actions and influence, ensuring that his goals were for the greater good of all involved parties.

However, not long after the celebration began, Petra, a mage accustomed to various threats in the world, felt his survival instincts kick in. Quickly, he rose from his seat, surprising the old demon who was getting drunk as the resistance to the poison had been weakened to make it easier for him to get drunk.

"Damn..." Petra muttered, stretching out his hands, preparing to face the unseen threat.

Defense Magic - Mana Shield

With swift movements, he cast a defensive spell, creating a magical shield around him to protect himself from the looming danger. The wall of energy framed his body, forming a sturdy defense against any potential attacks.

A tremendous explosion ripped through the air, shaking the ground around Zekram's residence. Dust and debris were lifted into the sky as shockwaves surged, shattering everything around with devastating force.

Petra was thrown backward by the force of the explosion, but his magical shield was strong enough to hold him from further harm. He watched in horror as Zekram's house crumbled into ruins, leaving behind a scene of devastation and chaos.

However, what shocked Petra wasn't the explosion itself, but the black energy ball streaking across the sky above Zekram's residence.

"Damn it, what's happening to you, Sirzechs?!" Petra exclaimed, his voice filled with confusion and anger as he witnessed the young Gremory mastermind the explosion. His mind was filled with unanswered questions, especially since tomorrow was his coronation day as the demon king, and this incident could ruin everything.

'Luckily, the old demon is drunk. I can make him sleep for a while. But unfortunately, all the servants in this mansion are dead! Did I make a mistake that pushed Sirzechs to become like this?!' Petra quickly thought as he moved Zekram to a safer place, then flew into the sky to equalize his position with Sirzechs.

The massive explosion had shocked the entire Lucifaad, sparking worries and panic throughout the city. The distance between the mansion was close enough that the battle happening there would impact the entire region. Hence, Petra quickly acted to move the fight to a more secluded and safe location.

"Aren't you going to talk, huh! Naughty child!!" Petra yelled in anger, his frustration peaking as Sirzechs remained silent about his actions. It wasn't just anger but also deep disappointment because the young master's actions had taken so many lives, including innocent ones.

Sirzechs, with his hair turned black and his eyes emitting a deadly red color, only growled in silence. His facial expression signaled rejection and deep hatred.

"It's all your fault," he muttered with a low voice, but his words cut sharply into Petra's heart.

"What!?" Petra responded in confusion, Sirzechs' voice was too dim to be heard clearly amidst the chaos.

"It's your fault! If it weren't for you, Grayfia would be mine!" Sirzechs shouted, his voice filled with anger and hatred, shaking the air around him. His dark and frightening expression hinted at the depth of his hatred and rejection.

'Wait, what's happening? Grayfia should still be Sirzechs' partner, so why did she reject his love? This is too illogical for me,' Petra thought, his confusion growing as he witnessed Sirzechs transform into a dark and angry figure.

Although there was a grain of truth in Sirzechs' words, Petra couldn't let the chaos continue. With firm determination, he tried to calm the increasingly heated situation.

"Sirzechs, you must control yourself," Petra insisted firmly, trying to calm the raging emotions within the young master. "What's happening to you? Are you under the influence of dark powers?"

However, Sirzechs only stared at Petra with a cold gaze, no doubt in his eyes. In the darkness shrouding his heart, his dark intentions grew stronger, burning with an unquenchable desire for revenge.

"I'm really generous today, for some reason, I want to eliminate you so that Grayfia stays with me!" Sirzechs said with a tone full of hatred, while releasing several black energy balls towards Petra.

Petra was ready to face the attack, then quickly recited a spell.

Space Magic - Blink!

The spell enveloped each energy ball, transporting them to a distant location. As they reached their destination, the energy balls exploded, scattering bright light into the night sky, creating an unusual phenomenon for the underworld inhabitants.

'Damn! Unexpected variables come from within, from someone who should have been an ally!' Petra thought in the darkness of his mind. The attack made it clear that this situation couldn't be resolved peacefully. If violence was the only way, then he wouldn't hesitate to confront it.

With a steady and resolute stance, Petra drew his magic wand from his coat pocket, preparing to face the young Gremory who would become Satan in the future. In the darkness of the night, the battle between two great powers began, bringing tension that gripped the night air.
