6 Fixie

Inside his room.

Kiro was lazily lying down on the crude surface of the wooden bed, whilst staring blankly at the empty ceiling. Suddenly, a flash of vision slowly floated inside his head. It was the image of his household during the time he was staying at his old home.

Following the event that happened previously, Kiro couldn't help to reminisce about the event of his life. Even though the time he stayed in this village was short, Kiro felt the familiar warmth of being loved and sheltered from the surroundings, especially the care of Chef Geoffrey showed to him.

"Haaa~" Sighing slightly, Kiro moved his head while he stared at the moonlight that slid through the window.

Truth to be told, Kiro doesn't want to think about his former world, because it would only give him grief, knowing that he could never return.

'Are my parents from the other side, is doing well?'

'Do they missed me?'

'Do they even remember me?'

At present, Kiro was trying not to think deeply about it. Still, because of the incident a while ago, his emotion was triggered.

"As I grew up in this course. Eventually, I would have to part ways with my parents to build my path." He bewailed with both of his eyes dampened. "So, you stop being depressed, Kiro..."

Kiro admonished himself repeatedly until he regained his usual optimism. However, deep inside his heart, a tint of regret grew.

But little did he know, back in his former world. There was a certain individual who was deeply affected by his disappearances.

In Maruyama Park.

Under the velvet night, there was a glimpse of starlight that illuminating brightly above the dark sky, as it shimmered a rain of starry light to the festival below the ground.

Music filled the air with its pleasant beats that lifted the spirit of the people inside the plaza, while the chime of chattering resounded at the bustling attraction of the nearby food stalls.

Throughout time, a carnival light shone vividly, as it flickered like a torch that was radiating to the surrounding—waving a mild and cozy feeling to the park. The reason this place was so exuberant with liveliness was due to this time of year the Cherry Blossom bloomed to its peak.

However, a certain person was gazing in dazed to such a dazzling place.

She was standing still while staring blankly at the tallest Cherry Blossom tree inside this plaza. The girl has long silky chestnut hair that was shimmering brightly at the festival light.

From time to time, whether it was a man or woman, they couldn't help to admire her beauty.

Watching her mesmerizing almond eyes that didn't leave the sight of the tallest Cherry Blossom tree. Someone even voiced out that he wished he could swap places to the cherry tree so the beauty would gaze at him.

Well, the surrounding people couldn't blame the guy; due to the girl is such a rare beauty. It was a foul play of her to wear a black long sleeve underneath of her long fit white coat with blue skinny jeans that emphasized her curves along with her pair of high wellies that blend to her overall figure.

Eventually, the girl shifted her gaze above the sky, as she stared blankly at the enchanting starry light that shimmering above the twilight.

"Why... Why is that I couldn't remember your name—but every time I look at the stars, why do I feel like my heart is about to burst from heartache… Who are you? How come I couldn't remember something so important." The girl mumbled whilst staring at the distant place.

"I even tried to search for you, but no matter what I did, I couldn't find a single thing—I even went to the town where you supposedly live. But when I reached that household, they said there was no such person. Still, why is it deep inside me a thought keeps reappearing, as if it was telling me you are real and you exist somewhere in the distant past..."

"—Hey, tell me, do you truly exist?"

After saying that. The girl stared deeply at the Weeping Cherry Tree; she felt a glimpse of similarity from this lone tree. Beautiful but lonely. It seemed to be solidly upfront. Yet, deep within was like a frail and delicate glass.

Taking a deep breath. The woman left the Maruyama Park while looking the world straight in the eye. Proud and brave like the Weeping Cherry tree.

Morning came.

Kiro was awakened by the daylight. He couldn't sleep well because of last night's event.

While dazing at the familiar ceiling. He abruptly remembered something; it was the voice that helped him to reconstruct his body.

"Um... Fixie bot, right? Can you hear me?" Kiro said while he felt weird to speak into the thin air.

He didn't even know if the voice would respond to his call.

"You called, Master? That's right I'm Fixie bot an assistance fairy of the System Upgrade."

Surprisingly, a childish voice responded inside his head.

"Woah, it responded to my call..." Kiro uttered in astonishment.

Inside the Diante forest, Kiro did not have the luxury to prove what kind of existence it was. Since his mind was preoccupied with the hatred and how to get out of the forest alive.

"Humph! Master, you're a meanie! My name is not 'It' Fixie, call me Fixie!" The assistance fairy said with a tone that didn't hide her annoyance.

Hearing her voice, Kiro shrugged his shoulder. "Mm, Sorry Fixie isn't?" Clearing his throat, Kiro asked. "If you don't mind, can Fixie explain to me what you are in full detail?"

Kiro asked her; however, it felt strange for him to hear the voice that sounded like a twelve-year-old young girl inside his consciousness.

Hearing her Master's request, Fixie answered the question cheerfully.

"Okay, Master! Fixie is... You know~ a beautiful lady! Even though Fixie sounds like this. Fixie is a full-fledged adult! Hehehe~ and—"

But before she could continue, Kiro interjected. "Wait, wait, wait! I didn't ask you to describe yourself. What I meant to say is why you're being called a Fixie bot." Kiro said, clearing his throat. With her playful voice alone was enough to give Kiro a serious headache.

Since the tender age of his life, Kiro wasn't good at interacting with other children at his age. What was a more childish voice resounding inside his head?

"U—uwu... O—okay, Fixie is an adult so Fixie won't argue with the meanie Master." She pouted whilst holding back to her tears to burst out.

"Fixie is from the spirit race; we are a proud race that directly serves the Gods of this world. Fixie was luckily chosen by the God of Creation to be the core apparition for the System Upgrade."

"Because Fixie is now connected to the System Upgrade. Fixie's race evolved from the spirit race to the spiritual framework. Perhaps the reason the God of Creation named Fixie as Fixie bot was because of that."

"After being put inside the System, Fixie was put into a deep slumber." She thought for a moment before adding. "The next thing Fixie knew, Master awakened the System Upgrade at the same time, stirring Fixie up."

After hearing her explanation, Kiro didn't know how to respond. He was utterly speechless from God's naming sense.

"Mm, okay then. Next is explain what is this System Upgrade and its function." Kiro said while trying to hold back his laughter after hearing the origin of her name.

"Okay, Master. The last time, Fixie already explained how SP Points works, the rest of the explanation wasn't that complicated." Fixie said as she explained the rest.

"The System Upgrade was a skill created by the God of Creation. It was one of the most powerful supportive skills that the God of Creation ever made. The more the user level up, the more SP points the user will get."

"Using the SP points the user can upgrade his physical body, spiritual body, physical strength, magical strength, and even the lifespan of the user can be upgraded using the System Upgrade."

"But there is a maximum capacity for every stage of the System Upgrade. For example, just like the last time. Master used the SP points to heal and repair your body. However, if the third stage of the System Upgrade was functioning. Master wouldn't need to use his SP points to treat those kinds of wounds because at the third stage Master's body can regenerate by itself."

Kiro was flabbergasted from hearing those words he knew how severe the wounds he took. Yet, the little fairy inside his head said that if he reached the third stage of this so-called 'System Upgrade' his body could regenerate by itself. What was a more shocking revelation he can now even upgrade his lifespan! With that alone, Kiro went numb just by hearing this.

"But if the user of the System Upgrade found a worthy companion. Master can even boost your chosen companion using the System Upgrade. Though that feature is still locked at the moment." Fixie yet threw another stunning word.

At this point, Kiro did not know what to say any more while he pretended that he didn't hear a thing. He asked another question.

"Then how can I tell what stage I am right at the moment?" He said in wonder.

"Simple, Master just needed to appraise himself," Fixie replied to him in confusion. She didn't know why her Master would ask an obvious question.

"Huh? How can I appraise myself?" Kiro asked in bewilderment. He could not tell what Fixie meant to those words.

"Mm? Didn't Master have his Innate skill the Appraisal, right? Master can use the skill to appraise himself." Fixie answered in confusion; she cannot make head nor tail to her Master question.

"... Ohh, so [Appraisal] skill can be used like that. Then what should I do to appraise myself?"

"Master... You just need to stretch your hand then say the keyword [Appraisal], then you can see your status, Master." Fixie was baffled after hearing her Master's response.

'Don't tell Fixie that Fixie's Master is a dumboo~ No, no, no! Fixie Master isn't a dumboo~ because Fixie is so great, so Master should be great too! But Fixie is much greater!'

"Hehehe, so it was just like that." Kiro cracked a dry laugh to hide his embarrassment. Then he stretched his right hand as he said the keyword.

"{Appraisal!]"

Suddenly a flash of information flooded throughout Kiro's brain. Holding his head with both hands, Kiro groaned in pain. "... Urgh! What the heck is this?" He was feeling dizzy from the sudden information that he received.

Ultimately, Kiro stabilized his chaotic mind as he stared at the transparent status screen that can only be found in games.

"This... Really? If I did not experience the life and death situation yesterday. I would probably still believe that everything here isn't real. Still, this absurd skill makes me lose my mind." Kiro voiced out his complaint while staring at the half 1x1 meters transparent screen in front of him.

Hearing her Master's mumbles. Fixie asked a question.

"How is it? Master, did you see it?" She said in the tone that didn't hide her curiosity.

"Yeah—I managed to see my statistics." When he was done saying those words Kiro ignored the annoying Fixie who kept asking him a question one after another.

Taking a deep sigh, Kiro tried to absorb every information he got from the Appraisal skill.

After digesting all the necessary information. Kiro got up from the bed. But when he was about to leave his room, he felt a familiar aura nearby.

"Chief Geoffrey?" Kiro called out his name. He is still feeling awkward because of the event last time.

"Mm, it is me Kiro. Sorry to disturb you like early in the morning." Chief Geoffrey apologetically said.

"No, not at all, so what does the chief want to talk about?" Kiro asked in wonder.

"Nothing much. It's just that I would like to request something to you before you leave the village."

"Is that so? Okay, just wait for a moment, and I'll go out of the room first." After he finished saying those words. Kiro went forward and opened the door.

A moment later, Kiro got out of the room and he saw Chief Geoffrey standing there in the hallway.

Giving a slight nod for a greeting, Kiro asked in bewilderment. "So... What would you like to ask Chief?"

Kiro hid his troubled face as he tried his best to act as naturally as possible. Because of his blunder last time, he still couldn't forgive himself for being insensitive.

"Nah, It's not something big, I just want you to take care of something for me."

After saying that, he stretches both of his hands and shows Kiro a black wooden box.

The box looked so ordinary, the only unusual thing is, the box was made of black wood. It is a rare wood.

Opening the box, chief Geoffrey shows Kiro what is inside.

"This pendant is the family heirloom of Kaho before she traveled all around the world with my son. She left this to me. It was an important keepsake that I kept all these years."

"Now that you mentioned it before, you came from the Eastern Empire, I will give you her family heirloom, and I hope that you could find her relative and return the pendant to her family." Chief Geoffrey said with high expectations.

It was one of his wishes to return the heirloom to its rightful owner.

Kiro thought for a moment. He couldn't believe that the silent agreement he did would lead to this huge misunderstanding. But feeling guilt for everything that happened last time. Kiro couldn't voice out a rejection. He could only nod in agreement.

"Then, please take care of it, I hope you could find her relative and return the heirloom to the rightful owner," Chief Geoffrey said with delight. Handing over the black wooden box to Kiro, Geoffrey thought for a moment, before passing out another object.

"Here, also take this. It will be helpful for you to find her relative using her portrait." Chief Geoffrey handed over a piece of animal skin, with a beautiful woman drawn In it.

Kiro looked at the portrait of the beautiful woman for a moment. He couldn't help to admire her beauty. Sadly, such a beauty died horribly.

"Okay, chief Geoffrey, I will do my best to find her relative, her name is Kaho, right? But aren't you afraid that I will run with this precious heirloom and never return?"

"I may be old, but my eyes are still young, just like before, I wouldn't be wrong with my judgment. Well, even if you turn out to be like that, I could only blame myself for being a senile Old man."

Seeing how the Old Chief Geoffrey trusted him this much, Kiro could only helplessly nod in agreement.
