4 Chapter 4

Hearing Hiro's response, the woman hesitated for a moment. She didn't really want to be the person to explain the things but he had no time to lose. She also didn't want to lie about the situation so instead of delaying the inevitable, she decided to go with the flow.

"You Should know that the people you were trying to save are all safe and sound. After you were hit, the police immediately moved inside and apprehended the woman. Right now they are crying to themselves and commending you for your heroic act. But you truly did die there so you can no longer return here. We however felt the circumstances had been truly unjust and have decided o give you a second chance at life in another world. And before you ask, all the anime, movies, and comics you have watched or read are real in the world out there. You can choose....."

Hiro had been worried about those people since he had gained consciousness and thus after hearing they are all safe, he sighed in relief. But as he heard the second part he couldn't help but feel excited and immediately agreed to any conditions and quickly stated, "Say no more ma'am. I would like to take you up on the offer as I agree to any conditions required... I mean which teenage boy wouldn't want to be reincarnated into those worlds? I had only heard of such things in stories but never imagined finding myself in the same situation."

The woman wondered whether Hiro had truly forgotten the prospects of dying or was genuinely excited about her proposal. But not wanting to be interrupted again, continued her explanation,

"Which I would have proposed had the circumstances not been so dire. So tell me Hiro Narukami how is it that you have those memories? Have you wondered how you can experience the world war when you hadn't even lived during that time? How do you know about other countries' cultures when you have never even visited or read about them?"

Hiro's mind blanked when he heard the woman's question. In truth, Hiro had had these memories ever since he was a toddler. He would sometimes see several memories in one of his nightmares or suddenly catch a glimpse any time of the day. Sometimes, Hiro contemplated whether he was delusional and had even visited the psychiatrist one time. These memories had become a part of his life but also an impossible problem he could not find the solution to. Believing his death will find him an answer, Hiro answered, "No. But I hope to find out the reason one day." Before Hiro could ask how they knew about it, he was suddenly interrupted.

"Hey, you two! How could you leave me behind? That's cruel you know!!". Suddenly the man that was punched appeared out of nowhere. But something deep inside Hiro was telling him that the man had been listening since the beginning. Against all expectations, the man adopted a serious look and spoke out, "You may not know but the memories you are seeing all belonged to your previous incarnations in various worlds. You have already been chosen, Hiro Narukami, as in the end, you will bear the responsibilities that all the worlds have to offer."

Hiro thought about the things quickly and came to a conclusion, "So you are telling me I have been living and dying in other worlds until now? Meh...I don't wanna hear about it.. But can you please tell me how many worlds are there really? How I can visit them?"

Hiro's questions were however answered with praise, "You catch up quickly Hiro-Kun. But before we explain further, let us introduce ourselves. We are the governing forces that control the multiverse. My name is Void and my partner there is called Infinity. We have been doing our work since the beginning of all things. But currently, we face an overwhelming force that threatens to devour all. Its name is Zero. It is all powerful and even if we attack it together, we would likely be destroyed instead. We along with our master had tried a long time ago but we only managed to seal it at the cost of being almost destroyed, while our master was killed."

Hiro was baffled by the revelations that he was standing in front of such beings but still had to ask, "You sound like robots with these names. Firstly, they are kind of awkward so I am going to call you Vi and Infi okay? So you used to work for a big boss and fought another similar entity? But if Zero is sealed then what is the problem?"

Vi was shocked when Hiro called him by the familiar name. This was supposed to be a test to find out whether Hiro really was the chosen one. Vi then turned to Infi and seeing her nod, scanned Hiro again. Before him, was not an ordinary boy but a very powerful and massive entity even for people with power like him, who should be within the top 30 of most powerful beings. Right at that moment, Vi had been certain that there was still hope, hope for things to turn better and the balance to be found.

Thus Vi said, "Very well we accept those names but take a seat for a moment." and suddenly three wooden chairs popped out of existence as Infi waved her hands. "So let us start from the beginning. when the universe was created, there was nothing except a deep void that stretched over infinity. You, humans, have indeed found the correct reason for the start of all things. But you fail to see what created the things that created the universe. There are Gods that rule each universe but what created and empowered the gods? What gave rise to the very beings that are supposedly all-powerful? An even greater being, right? That being was our master. The origin of everything along with His best friend, another entity named Zero." The two beings that were ever present and gave rise to everything by combining their power.

"Our master <The Primordial One> was the culmination of all positive energy, experience, and knowledge. You see Hiro, the negative energy that formed Zero was not originally bad. It is the way in which this energy was used that made it evil... However with due course of time, Zero lost interest in the peace that persisted throughout the universe because of the balance. He had let the negativity take over and became a threat to everything. Good is always very hard to preserve whereas evil shows spontaneous growth. Fortunately, there was far more good than evil in the beginning. To preserve the multiverse he and his friend had so painstakingly and loving created even for a second longer, our master, though omnipotent, omniscient and all powerful, spend his whole being and his soul to seal away Zero. During those moments, He created guardians, created us, to maintain the balance, and worked with us. He was like a father to us and had always shown love and care."

Hiro had understood a little about the situation but still had questions. "So is He truly dead? And just what do I have to de with all these?"

"Yes He is dead but He is bound by his fate. Zero and Him are destined to face each other for all eternity. This was the prophecy made by another one of our great allies. He will reincarnate again and again and rise up to his duty. He is known by many names but his true name was Origin Hiro"

"Yeah, Yeah, cool names for powerful people, and His name kinda matches mine. What a coincidence, right," said Hiro. Then as is hit by the sudden truck of realization, Hiro's eyes widened, and he audibly thought, "Wut!!? Wait Don't tell me...."

Hiro quickly looked toward Vi and seeing a sly smile on his face, he could not help but fear what might happen to him in the future.
