34 Chapter 34

After leaving the sect's dungeons, Ming Yue and Jun Xi flew back on his flying sword to the Sky Pavilion.

Ming Yue had been in a thoughtless state and didn't come around until her feet landed on the white gravel in the Sky Pavilion's courtyard.

Jun Xi grabbed her hand and unexpectedly lead her to the backyard instead of into the house. When they arrived in the area where they used to cultivate and train, Jun Xi pulled out a small roll of white silk and carefully put it in her hands.

"Study this." He said with a voice that was firm and commanding.

Ming Yue looked at the small roll of silk in her hands, it was so light it felt like she was holding onto a cloud. She carefully unrolled it until it almost became a transparent piece of silk, about the size of an ark of paper. On it were several diagrams of the human body and acupuncture points and meridians. There were also a few words of text. It was a movement technique called, "Light as a feather, Fleeting as a cloud".

She raised her brows in surprise when she realized what it was, but quickly understood his intentions. She took a seat on the flat stone where she had cultivated just a few days ago and began to study the movement technique closely.

Every now and then she would pause for a moment and then activate the acupuncture points and feel the flow of her demonic qi in her meridians. Then she'd continue reading and do it again and again. As she began to get a hang of it and could feel the flow of demonic qi follow 80 percent of paths described in the movement technique she suddenly felt her clothes and hair raise as if they had become unaffected by gravity, even her limbs and the rest of her body began to feel weightless.

She was so shocked by this miraculous feeling that her heart palpitated, a sense of unease grew inside of her as she felt like her body would float away in the slightest of breezes. So she immediately stopped and looked up at Jun Xi, who stood before her, with a worried expression.

"Don't worry. Just keep practicing and you'll naturally get control of it. I'll be here and keep you safe." Jun Xi reassured her.

Ming Yue nodded and pushed down her anxiety and firmed her thoughts as she continued studying the technique and putting it into practice.

Two hours passed by and she had now learned the complete flow path of her demonic qi. As she had continued practicing she noticed that as she got closer to learning 100 percent of the flow path her control over her weightlessness grew stronger and stronger.

Suddenly, she clenched her fist and closed her eyes, then she let her demonic qi surge in her meridians according to the diagram of the movement technique, then she felt the slight breeze pull at her clothes and hair and she grabbed onto it with her thoughts and let it carry her body away. Like a feather lost in the wind her body suddenly floated away along with the breeze and when she felt something touching underneath her foot she stabilized her demonic qi flow and opened her eyes.

With a look of amazement she saw that she was now standing on top of a tall tree. Her foot was resting on a single leaf which swayed lightly together with her frame in the breeze.

She was so shocked and amazed when she realized what had just happened that she momentarily lost focus of her demonic qi cycle and suddenly fell down like a heavy rock. Her mind temporarily seized to function and all she could do and think about was to close her eyes and brace herself for the painful impact.

When she thought her body would crash into the ground she suddenly felt someone embrace her. Opening her eyes she saw Jun Xi looking at her with tender eyes. He was carrying her like a princess.

"Not bad." He said and then gently put her down. "It seems you have a natural disposition for this type of movement technique. Many disciples take several years to master it, if they learn it at all. Yet, it took you only a few hours." He was actually very impressed and a bit shocked. He had just brought out the movement technique on a whim, never truly expecting her to learn it, at least not this quickly. He just wanted her to try it and if it didn't show any promising results he'd teach her something else. But now it seemed she had a natural disposition for the wind and earth elements. The wind element let you feel and control the weakest and tiniest bit of wind, while the earth element controlled the effects of gravity among other things. By combining them, you could produce the results of this movement technique, and be as light as a feather and fleeting as a cloud, which explained the name of the movement technique.

"Practice this movement technique for a few more hours then come to the front yard and we'll have dinner." Jun Xi said and left.

Ming Yue nodded quietly and continued practicing.

A few hours later the sun was setting and painted streaks of oranges and reds across the skies.

Ming Yue wiped off some sweat from her forehead with a handkerchief and then smiled proudly to herself. She was now feeling very confident in her control over the movement technique and could easily fly around light as a feather and fleeting as a cloud. She had skipped across the crowns of the trees like a dragonfly over the surface of a pond, seemingly effortlessly and weightlessly.

When she walked around the house and moved toward the small octagonal pavilion she couldn't help but feel something was off and an eery feeling growing in the back of her mind.

She saw a man shadowed in darkness standing in front the small octagonal pavilion with his head slightly lowered seemingly waiting for her.

Seeing as how his body shape reminded her of Jun Xi, she figured she was just too exhausted and hungry and quickly brushed off the nagging feeling and instead lightened her steps as she almost ran up to the figure about to happily announce her successful advancements.

But just as she reached a meter before the figure, the dark figure suddenly pulled out a knife and stabbed it toward her.
