1 Chapter 1

"No! No, no, no! This isn't happening! I finally get to experience the unbelievable miracle of transmigration but I ended up as a fruit?"

A purple plum-like fruit was dangling back and forth on a lonely branch, seemingly very upset at its predicament.

"I refuse!" A young female's voice shrieked and caused the fruit to shake loose.

Plop!

The fruit fell off its branch and with a plop it landed in a stream of water and got caught in its rapid currents.

Blub. Blub. Blub.

The tiny fruit tumbled around helplessly in the stream, bouncing against rock and bottom, and occasionally against a most unexpected and surprised fish.

As the fruit continued down the stream, the thundering sound of a waterfall grew louder.

"No way! I'm going to di—"

Before she could finish her sentence she suddenly found herself in a free fall with her voice stuck in the back of her throat. Soaring down the sky at breakneck speed, the fruit darted through a thick layer of clouds forming a narrow tunnel. When she came out on the other side she could see the ground several thousand meters below quickly approaching.

"I'm definitely going to die! Again! Bohooo!" The girl whined.

A few moments later there was another plop as she shot through the surface of a small pond. This time, however, it was much, much more painful. Confused and surrounded by a cloud of bubbles, the young girl whose consciousness was stuck in the fruit struggled, in whatever way a fruit can, to reach the surface.

With a splash she finally broke through the surface and gasped for air and things finally began to calm down.

Her head kept spinning as she looked around trying to get a hang on where she was. It seemed that she had landed in a small pool of water. Behind her was a waterfall that reached far beyond the clouds and in front of her was a... a man?

That's right, in front of her was the most handsome man she had ever seen. Long black hair, like an inky waterfall, reached below his shoulders and framed a chiseled face. Thick, relaxed eyebrows rested above his black phoenix-shaped eyes. A sharp nose, and a pair of thin enchanting lips. His chest and abdomen were muscular and looked like they were sculpted after a Greek god. He looked like the perfect specimen of a war god. Manly, beautiful, strong; an unsheathed sword of the finest and most dazzling steel.

Transfixed by his looks, her hands were subconsciously reaching out to touch him.

"Wait!? A hand? I have a hand!" She blurted out, looking at the delicate jade-like hand and arm that entered her vision.

Preoccupied with admiring her hands and arms, she didn't notice the slightly raised eyebrow of the man before her.

Wanting to confirm she wasn't hallucinating she turned her eyes back to the man asking 'Can you see me?' by waving her hands before him as if she'd forgotten how to speak.

However, the man remained silent, only looking at her. Wait! Why is he looking...

"Yiih! You, you... YOU!" She suddenly realized his eyes had drawn to her soft milky white mounds that where completely naked and out in the open for all to see, though the most sensitive parts were still hidden below the water surface.

In embarrassment and panic she began flaying her arms before her causing water to splash everywhere. But then she suddenly lost her footing and fell into the man's embrace.

Feeling her soft naked body leaning into his hard muscled body her face turned beet red and she lost all her reasoning. Convinced the man had done something for them to end up in this predicament, she did what any proper young lady would do in such a situation: she bit down hard on the first best thing which her teeth could reach like a ferocious beast! Which in this case happened to be his shoulder close to his neck.

She felt her teeth sink into his flesh and a sweet, metallic flavor entered her mouth. As if reasoning could be found in the flavor of blood, she suddenly realized the situation she was in. She was currently naked, in the arms of a war god, and she had just drawn first blood!

She jolted back from him and moved into a safe distance, carefully studying his handsome face for any sudden changes of expression while praying he wouldn't suddenly decide to snap her neck.

However, his expression remained still, as if everything that had just happened was of no concern to him at all. The girl thanked her lucky star, the man must obviously be a God and won't be bothered by the acts of an insect. A pretty, cute, and adorable insect though, she added.

She was about to explain herself when a bright flashing light began shining between the two of them. The flashing light felt like sharp glass to the eyes. Then tendrils of light grew out of the flashing light and suddenly pounced into both of their chests without warning.

The girl gasped loudly as the tendril of light plunged into her chest and caused her whole body to shudder. She felt the tendril of light grab a hold of her heart and squeezed. Then characters of unknown origin began scrolling past her eyes and a low chant was muttering by her ear. When she finally thought the tendril of light would squeeze her heart into mush, the tendril of light quickly withdrew and the flashing light disappeared and everything returned to normal as if nothing had just happened.

The man's expression finally turned serious and his thick eyebrows formed into the shape of a frown.

"Life and death contract..." He muttered, his voice rumbling like the distant thunder. Then his eyes turned narrow and sharp as they locked onto her.

"Eh?" She put on a confused and innocent expression, batting her long eyelashes for extra effect. She was certain that she had just done something terribly, terribly wrong!
