24 Trust Issues

I immediately thought of 3 possibilities on the way to the bank. The first one was, obviously, the possibility of Emily got people from somewhere to raid my place while she was not home to have an alibi.

The second one was that some criminals randomly wanted to rob me because...reasons? Because they saw me with my cheap Rolex? And then luckily went directly to my office and notice the safe, but not the traps.

And the 3rd one was the most concerning one. That my new bodyguard was setting this all up, those dudes were actually his accomplices, maybe even the blood was faked just to fake injuries! Or they hurt themselves with the intention to have some credibility on the attempt of robbery.

All 3 possibilities were extremely vague, only the 1st and the 3rd one were actually on the run on my head. But an underground bodyguard robbing his client after he made the said client sign an extremely good deal for his currently new job? Besides he was recommended by one of the bosses of the underground, he would be at least somewhat reliable. I bet if he had the fame of robbing his employer he would not be alive for long.

So it all rested on Emily, why did she betray me? Why she suddenly had the urge for money when she didn't even like to spend on expensive dresses or dinners? I guess I have to find the culprits and interrogated them... or ask Emily herself.

The shouting of the bank awakened my running thoughts and went over those noises. My curiosity was reaching a peek. Is was a good thing that I was curious as a cat because I recognized my passbook from the hand of the excited guy.

I backed up and whispered to Lee "Go back to the entrance and get a common car, this guy is one of the accomplices of my robbery, we need to take information out of him without prying eye. I suppose you know what we need to prepare, leave me the things inside the bank for me to resolve, rest assure I will not make a scene"

Sure, I could make a scene and call the police, make him stay in jail, bring him to my world and then extract the information I want from there (I had a few experiments I could try on him). That plan was viable but not recommended, is highly possible I would be recorded "fall asleep" at the same time as the suspect. If someone has an interest in me that would be a glaring issue. And I didn't have enough power to delete those recording of a police station yet.

So the best action was to resolve this quietly and make him go away nicely so we can catch him and resolve this issue ourselves without so many people noticing it.

So I went to another cashier and said to her "Excuse me, please don't look but that man shouting is holding my passbook. I would like to tell your manager that I would like to him to say to that guy that if he could go back in 2 hours he could get all the money and authorization for him to extract it from my account."

She opened her eyes widely and said "Are you sure you don't want to call the police and have him arrested? What he's trying to accomplish is a felony, you were lucky that one of our meticulous managers is on turn today, if not your account would be empty by now"

I smiled and calmly said "I will thank him when I have time but now. So I don't feel the need to call the police, my people can deal with this guy perfectly by ourselves, we only don't want to make a scene on the bank. Can you help me please?"

She heisted and slowly said "Sure, but we must verify that you are really the real owner of the account first. You need to answer a couple o security questions and remember a couple of transactions, and then I will tell the manager are you ok with that?"

I said "Sure, but first, inform the manager of this situation to stall for time while I answer those questions"

She nodded and went to tell the manager, the manager kept their cool and didn't even looked my way and made the guy ask random questions on general knowledge and stuff that didn't matter while the girl was writing my answers on a paper.

After I answered the last question she left the paper on a desk behind the manager and left. The manager discretely said that he had to go to the bathroom while taking the paper. The guy obliviously didn't believe him and started shouting more, he said to him to calm down or he would call the security. That calmed him quite a bit.

While he pretended to go to the bathroom he checked the answers and they checked out. Even the last 2 months transactions. So this one was the rightful owner. He breathed with relief knowing that his suspicion was right. When a common dress guy arrived at the central branch bank asking to give him all the money on the account and didn't even know the extent of the amount that was on his account it was really weird.

Why? In an account with almost 300 Million on it, he said to give him all of the 10 million dollars. Rich people tend to know almost meticulously how big is their bank account, is something that makes them feel better than others. So he delayed the payment, waiting for a call from the rightful owner.

Technically they could withdraw all the money from the account only with the passbook, but he was a meticulous type of person, even with the possibility of making angry at the client he decided to do it so. All his years of experience told him this was the right move. He was really right, he would receive a praise from his superior and even a raise.

He would do what the owner of the account told him, it was a good thing too. The presence of police on a bank is never good for business, is like telling people they can't keep their money safe and they need the police, even with all their fancy security devices and private security.

So he went to the common dressed man and told him that he was making all the preparations ready to make that big transaction, that it would be completed in 2 hours and asked to wait for him outside since they needed to move big amounts of cash.

Afterward, the man stood up with bright eyes and said that we would wait at a cafe nearby and would come back and it was better to have him hand the money or else.

He smiled and reassured him while mentally pitying at him, if the owner of the account was more hot-headed and made a scene he would have not a choice to call the police, and maybe he could make a deal with the higher up and stay safe.

But a calm and cold-blooded millionaires are extremely dangerous, he shuddered after the man left thinking the possibilities of what awaits for the poor man trying to rob that kind of millionaire.

After the man exited and was on the way on the cafe 2 blacks away he passed on front of an allay and just as he was passing up an Asian man grabbed him, muffed his mouth with a cloth and restrained him with one of those tight plastic seals while quickly putting him on a black Ford car. All these happened in 3 shorts seconds, he didn't even have the time to think when he was locked on the backseats on a car moving across the street going towards an unknown destination.

He tried to scream but the cloth was too deep on his mouth, reaching his throat almost making difficult to breath. But not enough to make him able to spit it out and make him scream for help.

Then a man on the passenger seat beside the Asian man spoke and said "You are part of the team of people trying to rob my money off my account. We are going to have a nice little chat for a while. So remain seated comfortable while we arrived at our destination. If you behave like a nasty kid you are going to arrive at the destination with fewer fingers. Understood?"

After he nodded frenetically the man continued "Good, now just enjoy the view, who knows how many days we might spend together? Might be a while before you see the sunlight again". After saying that he remained in silence while the radio was lowly playing some rock music.
