John Lewis

"You piece of trash, can't you do anything useful in this house? All you know how to do is to my food, waste my husband's money while lazying around doing nothing. Can your family afford a like house like this? I wasn't the one who told your family to be poor was I? You call this cleaning the house? Can't you see how dusty this place still looks? Come on hurry up. Ahh useless trash" This were the insults that rained down on John Lewis by his uncle's wife Aunty Clara.

21 years old John Lewis is a handsome young man that comes from a rural village sides, his parents were poor and they had to work hard in order to raise money to send him to school. From primary through high school, his parents had to work hard and sometimes had to even borrow money from friends and relatives in the village in order to pay his school fees.

But as John got ready to go to the University, his parents were unable to afford it his any longer, so he had to move to the City to live with his Uncle who was more better off financially than his parents

John's uncle, Benjamin Lewis was into real estate business and was well better off than John's parents. He is married to Clara gates and they had two children a son named Jacob Lewis who was three years older than John and a daughter Caroline Lewis who was the same age as John.

But like they say "until you live with someone, you wouldn't know their real character " this was true of John's family because John's family always looked down on John's family because they were poor and ever since John Lewis moved to the city to live with his uncle's family, he had been looked down on, maltreatment, insulted and even ridiculed by his Uncle's wife and children simply because he was poor and his Uncle has always been indifferent to his plight because even though he was aware oh his sufferings, he did nothing to caution his wife and children.

He was seen by his uncle's family as a person who came to leech off of their family wealth that was why ever since John came to that house, he has always been treated worse than a servant. He was made to do mostly all the chores in the house like cleaning, washing of clothes and plates just as a means to vent out their anger on him.

John has always been enduring all this maltreatments that he had been facing in his Uncle's house because his Uncle was the one helping to pay his University school fees and didn't have the courage to retaliate simply because he was afraid that the moment he did his Uncle will stopped paying his fees and chase him out

John was in his third year in the University and was majoring in Business management because his dream was to establish his own company that would dominate the world.

John was known to be widely intelligent and he has always been passing his exams with flying colors which always drew in hatred from his cousins.

Seeing that John just stood there in daze and didn't say anything or move, Aunty Clara became more angry and pointed her finger at John while shouting shouting "What are you still doing standing there you piece of trash, get out of my sight you useless trash ".

John just bowed his head down and nodded and went about cleaning the house again. The maid just looked at John with pity and sighed.
