2 Santa’s Gift?

"Hey!"

This was all Lillie heard. She would usually keep walking. She should have kept walking. Nobody ever says anything to her, because nobody can see her. So why should she turn around.

Maybe because when a deep rich voice emanated from behind her. She knew who it was. And even if she knew he wasn't talking to her.....She had to see who he was talking to. She turned around to peek at the unknown mans attention, when she suddenly realized it was on her.

She glanced at him perplexed. Why was he looking at her? She looking back around, at the person he was supposed to be staring at. But saw no one there. A look of puzzlement traveled over Lillie's face. "Yeah I am talking to you". Lillie froze. When she made eye contact with the unknown man, she suddenly knew he could see her.

Her heart stopped. It leaped, heck it even flew. Lillie jumped up and down at the man, and now it was his turn to look bewildered. 'Is this woman crazy?' he thought as he watched her now in amusement.

Her house was only a few blocks away, and she needed to talk to this man. "Can you hear me?" She faintly asked. She wasn't quite used to talking and when she spoke, she felt her throat went dry.

"Yes I can hear you". As soon as Lillie's jaw dropped, she picked it back up. "I really need to talk to you, would it be okay if you come over to my house right now?" As soon as she asked this, she knew how crazy she sounded.

Why would a man, who didn't know her, suddenly decide to follow a woman. Especially a strange woman at that, one he never met before. Lillie was about to speak up when suddenly the man answered. "Okay". Now Lillie's jaw dropped and stayed there for a while.

This man was surely crazy. He didn't know who she was, and now he was going to come over to her house? Just like that? 'I must be crazy' he thought. 'Surely there is no way, that in the middle of the night, I am walking over to a random woman's home'.

His thoughts ran wild, as Lillie slowly decided to start walking. He followed, and together they made their way over to Lillie's house.

'She's beautiful' this was the only thought that kept reappearing in my mind. Something inside of me was surely crazy. My head tugged at my own soul as she asked if I wanted to come over. I had to say no.

Why would she invite an unknown man to her house, unless she felt she could handle it. 'She's probably a killer or something. 'Say no' but I didn't. I didn't say no. Instead my mouth almost practically screamed the word okay.

I couldn't help it though. When I stared at her, the world was practically nonexistent. My heart was blazing on fire. When I first flashed a smile her way, I almost smacked my head. I probably looked so dumb, and she probably looked away because I had food in my teeth or something.

But I can't help it. Her beauty is bewitching me. Her hair was as waves of pure earth, a deep brown that complemented her beautifully. Each strand was moving freely as if in an ocean born breeze, which was a compliment to her stillness. Her eyes were of river waters, which were in a glossy serenity. The aura that she had, seeped into the air between us.

I was breath taken. The lightly dusted freckles over her face, and the way her bangs tickled her eyebrows, was my description of pure beauty for me. I willed myself to stop staring, and be polite. It was time for me to go to her house, and see what was awaiting me.

Well this was it. He's in my house. Say something Lillie. Don't be weird. Hopefully he's not a killer? Of course he isn't, calm down. "Would you like something to eat, while we talk? I haven't made dinner yet". I slowly walked into my kitchen as I heard a reply. "Okay". From my kitchen I peered around my house and made sure it wasn't too messy.

I took note of the front door which enters straight into the living room, and how to the right was the open styled kitchen. Turned around and saw my dining room, and backyard, and once I realized my house was clean, I decided to cook.

"Are you broke or something?" He asked suddenly. "Um, pardon me?" I was very confused. "You didn't pay for your groceries, and the cashier didn't seem to care. So maybe you have a deal or something with him? He's your friend maybe?"

I burst out laughing. I mean was I just supposed to straight up say I was a ghost? I mean what else could I do if he actually wanted to see me again? Because no one else could, hanging out with him would make him look crazy.

"Actually about that..... let's talk about that later". I was now finishing up dinner, a quick little dinner of some ramen. I served us both at the dining room table. "I think it would be better to show you rather than tell you right now". He nodded his head, and we decided to eat in silence.

How can this man see me? What's different about him? During the meal I kept sneaking glances at him, was this a gift? Have I been on Santa's nice list or something?

Once finished, the man silently stared at me. Confusion was glazed over in his eyes, and I knew he wanted to talk about it. "I guess it's time to go", and as I stood up, he followed. When he left my house and I decided to go to a busy street late at night, he followed like a lost puppy dog.

———

We arrived at a busy street when she finally decided to stop. "We're here", was all she said as she silently walked a few feet ahead on the sidewalk. "Whatever you do, be calm, and don't talk to me". Now she's officially crazy, right? Then, the whole herd of people traveling on the sidewalk, were about to pummel her. As I was about to shout for her to move..... the whole herd went right through her.
