6 Chapter 5 - The Elvania Council...

** Endo Ken's Point of View **

I walk to the outside of the cave, but then a thought crossed my mind causing me to stop. Right now, the Blue Devil is at his weakest.

If I can kill him now, then I could save the world. It's a big chance. If I fail, he might destroy the world because of my action, but I think it's worth it. It's do or die time...

I grab my sword from the hilt, turn around, and charge at the devil. I cast [fast step], which allowed me to teleport in front of him. I took my sword and tried to stab the devil in his heart...

However, right as I tried to stab him, a magic circle instantly form on his hand, creating a blue fireball about 30 times the size of his last fireball. Flames engulf my vision.

Impossible... I could tell that this was his 2nd or 3rd time using this spell, but the cast it instantly and without chanting. You should never underestimate the Blue Devil...

I could feel skin melt off my body. 'I made a grave mistake...'

It might have been dumb, but it was the only chance to kill this monster. I just hope he doesn't try to destroy the world over this...

I hope the general and the other soldiers take action when they realize I'm dead. I smiled and came in peace with my death. I wait while my skin and bones melt off.

** Imai Akuma's Point of View **

Oops... I accidentally killed him. I didn't mean too, but I used too much power on that last spell. Still, what do you do when someone starts coming at you with a sword?

I did think that he was coming at me to test if his knowledge stuck to me, but still! Ugh... This is so complicated. Let's see; maybe I can heal him?

I walk over to him and put my hands above him. "[Heal]!"

Shit, that didn't work. Maybe I need to image healing or something?

"[Heal]! [Heal]! [Heal]!"

...

Yep, this isn't working. Maybe [Heal] isn't the correct chant, but still... Oh, wait! If he's dead, healing is not going to do shit. Ugh... Now what? Is there anything I could do? I could try reviving him, I guess.

I put my hands out and say a chant. "[Revive]!"

Particules in the air travel to my hands, creating a large magic circle. Then, it slowly descends into Ken's body. After a bit, the circle disapears.

Then, Ken pops up, covered in black. "Huh?! W-what happen? Where am I?"

I squat down and look down at him. "I'm sorry. I used to much power in that spell and accidentally killed you."

He stares at me, then blinks a couple of times. "No, no, Sir! I'm sorry! Please forgive me."

After apologizing to each other, Ken gets up and washes himself off in the lake.

He dries himself off and returns to the cave. He bows once again and takes his leave.

** Endo Ken's Point of View **

After leaving the cave, I walk toward Elvania. After being a kilometer away, I start running instead of walking. 'Please get me away from that beast!'

Once I reached Elvania, I went to the council's tree. I entered the building and was meeting with the revisionist. "Oh, Ken! Welcome. Do you wish to have an audience with the council?"

"Yes, I have an urgent message."

She nods and leaves the room. After some time, she returns. "Okay, the council is ready for you.

I nod and walk through the doors to the side of her. Inside is a dim room with five chairs placed a meter above the surface.

"Ah, welcome, Ken!"

The man in the center was the first to speak. He is the leader of the council, which we refer to him as one.

The person to the left of one, known as two, starts talking after one.

"Have you finally decided to join the council?"

"No, I'm sorry. I have come here today to relay an urgent message."

All of the council members raised their eyebrows. One starts talking.

"This is interesting. It must be crucial... You may speak."

"Yes, Sir! I traveled into the center of the Blue Devil's den and encountered the devil himself."

Everyone in the council, but one, made some noise. "Impossible!" "Ha! Lying now?" "We need to make defensive measures immediately!" "No way!"

"Everyone, silence! Ken, are you telling the truth? We already have a big problem, and I don't think we need another problem added to it."

"You don't mean... Is this big problem has anything to do with the Ruland Empire?"

"Indeed. We believe that they're about to declare war with us. We have some agents in the outskirts of Ruland waiting for a response. We also believe that the first fight will be in the Blue Devil's den. If the devil truly exists, then they might be trying to provoke him."

"But one! The Blue Devil is a legend created by humans. I doubt that any humans believe in his existence. Are you going to trust the word of some retired general who refused to join the council?"

"Silence three! Ken is a valuable asset in our country. He is the strongest warrior we have, plus his smarts are out of this forest! He could destroy three S-class monsters. Of course, I would trust his word. I would even trust him with my life."

After one speaks to three, he turns to me.

"Ken, sadly, we don't have time to observe the devil. We have to have our full intention on the Ruland Empire. Thank you, Ken, for your information, but I have a request for you..."
