34 Chapter 31 - A Class S Dragon...

I scan the silver board, looking for a good quest.

A random piece of paper catches my eyes.

'Silver 1 - Gather dragon eggs ** Downcast ** Reward: 1 gold for one egg, ten silver per more additional eggs.'

Exciting job, but what does downcast mean?

I peel the paper off the wall and take it to the female who's behind the counter.

"Ready for another quest? Let's see..."

She grabs the paper—her expression changes to a darker tone.

"Oh... I'm going to have to advise you to pick another quest. This one... is special..."

"Special? In what way."

"Well... As it says, it is downcast. The quest should be for a platinum or hero rank; however, the giver didn't have enough money to pay someone on that level. I can't force you not to take it, but others who tried only got hurt..."

"I see... I'll take it anyway."

How hard can stealing dragon eggs be? I mean, I could just teleport the eggs to me and then to the guild...

Well, if I do that, then the dragon might go on a rampage. I should try to defeat the dragon to get the eggs, but what could I use the dragon's body for?

"Um... If I killed a dragon for this quest, could I spell it's a body here at the guild?"

She looks at me with an unbelievable expression.

"S-sure... If you do accomplish such a task."

"Alright! Be right back."

I bow to the female and then left the guild. After finding an empty area and teleporting home, I cast [search] to see if I could find a dragon's nest.

After a bit of time, I successfully found a nest. I dash in the direction of the nest.

Once I was a kilometer away, I started to move slowly. I scan the surrounding area. 'Nothing insight, okay.'

I look a kilometer ahead of me and saw a large cliff. The top of the cliff has an enormous nest with a black dragon resting on top.

'It's do or die time!'

I dash toward the dragon at full speed. After reaching halfway, the dragon wakes up and stares in my direction.

It looks at me with an annoyed expression. It shoots a fireball in my direction, landing a couple of meters behind me. 'Was that a warning shot?'

I ignored his warning and kept dashing. By now, I'm at the bottom of its cliff.

The dragon growls at me, then shoots fireballs at me.

Man, never thought I'd be fighting a dragon. Oh, well...

I evade all the fireballs and smirk at the dragon.

"Roar!"

"Heh! We're just getting started!"

I jump 10 meters in the air, reaching 2 meters about the top of the cliff.

"Want to see my fireballs?"

I cast [fireball] at full power, creating a ball the size of a trash can.

The dragon looks in awe at my fireball. Just a dog, it whimpers.

"Heh... Not fun being on the receiving end. Sorry though, I kind of need your eggs."

I throw the ball at the dragon. It tries to escape; however, it was too slow. The ball of fire impacts the dragon at break speed, sending flames everywhere.

"Kaboom!"

The impact of the fireball destroyed the surrounding area. The flames burn everything in their path.

After a bit of time, the flames diminished, leaving the dragon's body and its eggs left alone.

I walked up to the body and confirmed that it was dead. Afterward, I try to grab the eggs when a problem occurs to me.

"Hmm... How am I going to carry these eggs and the body?"

Well, I only need one egg, to be honest. Oh! What if I could catch and raise the two eggs into dragons? That would be cool... Well, thee problem of how to carry them still remains.

Maybe I could use space magic and create a portable storage room?

I put out my hands and try to cast a spell. "[Storage]!"

...

Nothing happens...

Darn, maybe I need to think of it a bit more. I cast a magic circle.

If I adjust the space magic circle, maybe I could teleport it to a personal dimension? Worth a shot.

I adjust the circle in just a certain way and combine it with extra magic.

After a bit of time, I retry casting the spell. "[Storage]!"

A large circle appeared on the body and eggs. The circle slowly moves down into the stuff. After the circle completely goes through the stuff, it spins and disappears with the stuff.

Nice! I think it worked... Well, if it didn't, then I wasted an hour of my time.

I teleported back to the town and entered the guild.

After entering the guild, I head straight for the female; however, there was a line in front of her. I walked to the back of the line.

When I did, I saw a familiar face in front of me.

"Oh, hey! It's you from the other day."

The guy in front of me was the muscular man who bumped into me the other day.

After I called him out, he starts trembling. He turns around and takes a look at me. All colors drain from his face.

"H-hi, sir! Again, I'm s-so sorry about yesterday!"

"It's okay. Just curious, what's this line for?"

"H-huh? Oh... There's a hero class adventure here today looking for party members for some quests the king recently declared. Many adventures are here to accept and finish quests to show their worth to them."

"Ah... It does feel a lot busier than normal. Guess that explains that..."

"Y-you must be platinum level... Higher ranks get priority so you can walk straight up there."

"Huh? No, I'm just silver one rank."

The man stares at me.

"Impossible..."

"Huh?"

"Oh, nothing!"

"?"

I stare at the man with a confused expression. Then, I ignored the man and waited in line.

After ten minutes, It's finally my turn.

"Oh, hello again!"

The female smiles at me.

"I'm guessing you're here to change quest? I knew you would f..."

"No, I finished the quest."

I cast [storage] and thought about the items inside. After a bit of time, I successfully grab an egg out.

The female stares at me with widened eyes. I could even hear murmurs from behind me.

"I-I see... Can I s-see your guild's card?"

"Sure... Oh, wait! I also have this to sell to you."

I cast [storage] again, dragging the dragon's body out. Everyone beyond me starts to scream.

"It's a black dragon! This demon summoned a dragon! Run!"

"Run! We're going to die by a black dragon!"

I stare at them in confusion.

"It's... dead, though?"

Everyone freezes. The female slowly gets up and cast magic on the body.

"Y-your right... This class S monster is dead... Not to mention by a silver one..."

I smile at the lady.

"It was pretty easy... I mean, all it did was shoot fireballs at me. Oh, and guess what? They were the size of bowling balls! So small!"

I laugh like it was no big deal, but everyone stares at me.
