21 Chapter 20 - Returning with Exams...

Okay, let's not worry about it now. I mean, I can't change the past. Okay, so what happens now?

"So... Does that mean I have to redo 1st year, or do I move on to 2nd year?"

"Well, since you are the Devil and have already displayed immense power, you will be moving up to 2nd year. Though, you first have to pass some tests..."

"Tests? Are they to prove that I'm 2nd year ready?"

"Kind of... See, at the end of student's first and last years, they take ending tests that we use to display their growth. If you were in 2nd and moved on to 3rd, you wouldn't need to take any test, but we need the first tests. It should be easy for you. It is only a final exam and a physical exam. Should be nothing to you."

"Oh, okay. I understand. Can I take the test right away?"

"Yes. Rather, it would be best if you did it immediately because you can't go to class without the test not being completed. First, sit over here. You'll do the final in here."

"Understood."

I move over to the seat and sit down. She places a piece of paper in front of me.

"Please take your time. It is difficult since you are in S class."

I look over at all the questions, which were only 10. The 1st question seemed pretty straightforward.

'What are the magic types?'

Who doesn't know this? Maybe it gets exponentially more challenging.

'Question 2: Explain the drawbacks and pros of multi-circles.'

That is a little harder, but still easy. I wrote my answers and moved on.

'Question 6: Which type has a unique classification system? Explain the difference between level 0 and level 10 in this type.'

Again, easy! Difficult my ass! Well, I did learn this only today, so... Well, I would have known it in class, so it doesn't matter. It is still easy!

The last question was also easy but more challenging than all the others.

'What is the phenomenon in which magic is voided? Who is the only person/creature that can do this void?'

It would have been an impossible question for me, but I remember something similar to a book I read in the past. Even the rare creature book had it in there.

The phenomenon is called Magical Nullification. It is when magic particules gets eaten up by a creature for energy. It can also stop magicians from using magic, too, by eating up someone's magic particules that their mana supplies.

The only thing that can use this magic is... me, the Blue Devil. I have used this all the time, even the first day in this world. In other words, this is how I eat...

Magic particules gets absorbs within me, which satisfies my hunger. The particules also add to my mana collection, giving me more mana. This can also help with sleep, allowing me not to need rest.

Anyway, this test is easy. I finish under 5 minutes. I stand up and take it to the principal, who looks at me with a weird face.

"Is there something wrong?"'

"No, I finish the test."

"Huh?! It has only been five minutes... Well, I guess you are the Blue Devil..."

I smile. In honesty, the test wasn't hard, to begin with. "Okay, what's next?"

"Ah, ahem... Next, you will need to take a physical exam. Please follow me."

I follow her outside to an open field. It seems to be a training ground of some sort.

"Okay, the physical exam is different per inspector. For this exam, you will be showing your physical and magical strength on these targets."

After explaining, she summoned 20 dummies in the center of the field. "First, the physical test. Please destroy all of the dummies starting... Now!"

As instructed, I started the test by running to the center of the pack, though it might look like I teleported. Once I was in position, I jump in the air. Then I thrust my fist into the ground on one of the dummies' heads. My punch made a significant impact on the environment, creating a mini earthquake.

My punch destroyed the targeted dummy, but the impact killed the remaining dummies by a shockwave. All the dummies were damaged in a matter of five seconds. I walk back over to the principal, who looks at the destruction in disbelief.

"Ohoho! This is more than I expected! I'm a bit afraid of what you'll do in the magical test, however. Nevertheless, let's move onto it immediately!"

She summons 20 more dummies. Then she yells, "Go!"

Since this is a magical test, this test should be 10x more manageable than the physical. I instantly create a magic circle and shot it toward the center of the group. All dummies melted due to the spell in a matter of seconds. Again, she stares in disbelief.

"Amazing... You beat this test in another five seconds. Say, what spell did you use?"

"Umm... A fire-type spell. I sent heat to the center of the dummies. The heat was incredibly high, allowing it to burn them with ease."

"Ohoho! I never thought of using pure heat to destroy my enemies. You learn something new every day. Ohoho!"

After the test, she brought me back to her room. Then, after getting some paperwork, she confirms that I have passed.

"Excellent! Lunch hasn't even occurred yet, but you finished the test extremely fast. Okay, you can now go to your class, which is on the back of this floor. The room number is 120. I'll also inform the teacher of your return."

"Thanks."

I bow and thank the principal. Then, I left and explored the school in search of my classroom. After about five minutes of searching, I found the room. I knock and then entered. When I did, all eyes stare on me.

"Ah! Akuma, welcome back! The principal told me that you were coming. You can sit over there."

The teacher ignored my disturbance and told me to sit down in the back, empty seat. As I made my way to it, I look around but couldn't see Ken nor Tomo. Did they get into a different class? Maybe...

I'll go and ask the principal after school...
