13 Chapter 12 - The Principle Office...

Ken lead me to a single door with a name-plate that says, "Principle's Office." I have never been to the principle's office in my last life, so this feels kind of refreshing. Ken knocked on the door.

"Come in!"

After getting the all-clear to enter, Ken opens the door, revealing a small middle-aged girl. She has long, pointy ears and long blonde hair.

"Ah, Hello, Ken. Oh, you brought a guess."

She eyes me, and then a wicked smile turns on her face.

"Ohoho! I thought I would never see the day when the strongest elf would find a disciple."

"Oh, please. Could you stop now? Anyhow, he's not my disciple. I would like to register him with the school."

"Sure thing!"

After talking with Ken, she moves onto me.

"Hello there! I'm Erikah, the principle of this school. What that your magic energy I saw earlier? Let's say your sneak in wasn't such sneaky thanks to that. Anyway, what might be your name?"

Wait, she noticed me coming in? No, she said my magic energy. That is a big downside to using [Hide] then. I better start finding a new spell to replace that.

"My name is Akuma. Nice to meet you."

She smiles after I introduced myself. Then, she went over to her desk.

"Okay, Akuma. I'll put you with the class that you interrupted, which is class S-1."

Really? Sweet! I'll get to see Tomo again.

"Thanks!"

She smiles. "Okay, you can leave now."

Wait, that was it? Why did I need to come here, then? There was zero paperwork I had to fill out. Ugh, whatever...

I bowed down and said my goodbyes to Erikah and Ken; then, I took my leave. After closing the door, I teleported back to my cave.

...

** Endo Ken's Point of View **

After Akuma left, I let out a huge sigh.

"Ohoho! So that was the Blue Devil? Less destructive and more reasonable then I would of imagine."

"Less? He's more reasonable, I'll give you that, but he nowhere on the less destructive part. The teacher in the class of S-1 informed me that Akuma destroyed the wall and repaired it in an instant. He might destroy the whole building one of these days."

"And? It would make this school a lot more exciting and less boring. Just in case, we'll need to find him a guide or a guardian. I do have a person in mind..."

She looks at me with a devious smile.

"Wait, you want me to watch over him? What do you expect me to do if he enrages? I just got lucky last time!"

"Well, get lucky the next time too. Anyway, you know the most about him. As such, you are the best candidate for being the watcher."

Great... I'm going to have many heart attacks during this school year.

"Fine..."

"Thanks! I'll make you the teacher's assistant for class S-1."

Man, why do I have to do this? I thought I would be in peace after retiring from the army. I guess I was wrong...

...

** Imai Akuma's Point of View **

After teleporting home, I went straight to bed. My excitement kept me awake for several hours, but I did get a couple of hours of sleep. After waking up, I check the time to see that there was an hour left before school started.

Hmm... What should I do in the meantime? Rather than training and reading, maybe it would be more beneficial to experiment instead. I have learned a lot of stuff these past two years.

Something I wanted to try was merging two magical circles. I learned that it is possible and that it increases the potential of your spells. Let's see...

I created an extra-type circle with my left hand and a water-type circle in my right. Merging is different than overlapping or using multiple circles in a spell. It requires to copy the magical code of the 2nd circle and to combine it with the first circle code.

Magical code is, in a sense, how the mana in the circle operates, similar to programming. By rearranging the code, you can create any spell you want. Casting a chant automatically generates the code, but I been doing it manually, which makes my spell ten times powerful.

I memorized the water-type code and dispelled it. Then I turn to my extra-type circle and try to add the water-type code to it. After rearranging and alternating the code, I finally created an extra-water-type circle. I discovered that extra-type circles are the only circle that this can work for since its code is very accepting of other spells, which makes sense since it doesn't have a defined type.

Now, with this circle, I could maximize my water-type spells, or in theory at least...

[Water Spear] is a spell that creates spears made of water that shoots from the magic circle. Let's see if I can use this spell with this type of circle. I rearrange the inner code to create the spell. After a minute of working, I successfully created the spell.

Spears made of a different water shoots from the circle. I say different water because the spears are coated with magical particles. If I had to guess, the water is more damaging than ordinary water. It's probably not safe to drink that type of water...

I aim the spell at my cave's wall. The spell didn't break the wall but left deep cuts. The typical [Water Spear] wasn't sharp enough to do that much damage or leave any cuts onto hard surfaces.

I look at the time to see that 30 minutes have passed. Oops! Better hurry and get ready. I cleanse myself and then teleported outside the principal office. I knock on the door until I heard a 'come in.' Upon hearing the words, I enter the room.

"Ah, Akuma! Nice to see you. Your about twenty minutes early, but it's nice to see an earnest boy who's excited about school. I wish the other students would be as excited as you."

"Heh... Yeah, I could barely sleep with my excitement."

"Ohoho! Is that right? Well, I had a feeling that you come early, so I arrange a guide for you who will show you around the school."

Erikah notions to someone who has been sitting at a chair behind me. It was Tomo...

"Hey, Tomo!"

I greeted her with a smile. I could see a tiny blush appear on her face.

"H-hi... Akuma..."

She smiles as she greets me.

"I thought Tomo would be the best guide since you two already know each other, and she is in your class."

I nod to Erikah and then left with Tomo. I followed Tomo for 25 minutes as we went through the entire building. I learned where the cafeteria, gym (already seen it though), restrooms, some classrooms, and other places that aren't noteworthy. Five minutes remain until school starts.

Tomo has been cheerful the entire time until I inform her of the time. Then, she freaks a little bit and rushes to get to the classroom. Luckily, it only took 2 minutes to get to the classroom.

Upon entering our classroom, we were greeted with stares and murmurs.

"Look, its that boy from yesterday!"

"It's the demon girl, hide!"

"Ha! It looks like the loser found another loser."

I ignore the murmurs and stares, but Tomo looks defeated. I tried to change the topic.

"So, Tomo. Where do you sit?"

She hesitates for a bit but then points to a dest that is in a corner. The lone dest is about 3 meters away from the other desks. Wow, she's not being treated fairly in the classroom either...

"Well, shall we?"

"Huh?"

I grabbed Tomo's hand and moved to the corner of the room. Then, I cast earth-type magic and created a desk out of some rocks. The design looks entirely like the others just made out of a different material. I sat onto the desk, which I put right next to Tomo's desk.

"Well, there aren't any free single desks, so I thought I might create one."

I smile at Tomo. She smiles at me, too, and then moves into her seat. Right as she does this, the teacher enters the building, and the school's bell ranged.

Time for class! I hope this is excited as I imagine...
