11 Chapter 10 - Sneaking Around...

Ken stared at me for a bit after I asked the question. Then, he replies to me in a calm voice.

"I... I think you shouldn't attend."

His body was trembling so much that I touch would cause him to fall over. I'm not sure why he is freaking out this much, though.

"Ah, no. It's understandable. Sorry that I asked..."

I mean, it might require a lot of paperwork and other things since I'm not from around here...

Ken sighs in relief and then bowed.

"Thanks for your understanding... Oh, it's getting dark. You should probably get going."

"Oh, yeah. Sorry again! Thanks for the tour."

I smile at Ken and give my goodbyes. Then, after being a kilometer away, I teleport home. Once home, I wonder to bed, thinking how fun tomorrow will be.

...

The morning came very quickly. I got up looked outside to see what time it is. 'Hmm... Pretty early. Might need a wait till afternoon before going.'

I plan to teleport back to that school and sneak into it. Ken did say that I shouldn't attend, but I'm just too curious. I mean, there was no magic schools on Earth.

Okay, so what should I do in the meantime? I could train some more, but I been doing that ever since coming to this world. Is there anything else I could do? Well, guess I'll use the time to read.

Since coming to this world, I used my afternoon time for reading my mental books, which is one of the abilities I asked for. I've learned many things using these books.

For instance, how magic in this world works. Ken already told me that magic is divided into magic aptitude and mana (magic capability); however, he explained to me a short version.

In a better sense, the world is filled with a particle called magic particules. These particules allow magicians to conjure up spells. When a mage starts to cast a spell, a magic circle made on magic particules is created. The circle calls out to their mana, which sends the mage thoughts and mana into the circle. The thoughts change the circle automatically, though it requires mana to do so.

The big reason why spells with no type of chants are more compelling is that the mana used to create the circle is less, and the rest goes into the spell, making it a more powerful spell. The downside, though, it that it takes time to configure the spell manually.

After learning about this, I always decided manually to configure my spells. Another cool thing I learned about magic spells is that you can overlap them, meaning you can use more than one magic circle for a spell. Though, the only use for this is if you used different types of magic circles.

Like I stated before, magic particules from magic circles; however, different types of circles relate to a magical type. For instance, my fireball spell uses a fire-type circle. I did some experiments and founded out you could combine extra-type with another type to make a fake-type.

This means that you could create a fire-type spell using mostly extra-type magic. Since extra-type magic is rare and powerful, using this instead of a base-element can improve the spell by a lot. After learning this, I discovered that I been doing it the whole time every time I teleported. The only difference is that my teleport spell has extra-type and space-type infused into a magic circle instead of two circles.

I know a lot about magic now, but what else should I read? Wait, people have been calling me the Blue Devil, haven't they? What is a Blue Devil...

I open my mental library and search for books about the Blue Devil. There were 20 results. I open the first book it gave me, which was called "Mystical Monsters."

I start reading the book. It had information about different legendary monsters. For instance, a monster called a black dragon. Unlike other dragons, this dragon has a hardened shell that reflects all magic. The dragon is under a 10th tier monster, meaning it's a monster able to destroy the world.

I continued reading the book until I came across a monster named the Blue Devil. The Blue Devil is a legendary beast rumored by humans to control their children. This beast is rumored to destroy the world without using any limbs. He has blue hair, a blue-colored appearance, and two different color eyes. His power is unmatched and can make anyone fearful of their lives. He's considered a 12th tier, which he is the only and is the highest tier.

This does sound like me... Wait, did I get reincarnated as the Blue Devil?! I mean, it's a bit cool since I have a lot of powers but still is a bit weird. Man, no wonder people were freaking out every time they saw me. That does explain why Ken always freaks out after asking me a question...

I continued to read the book about me and read other legendary monsters inside. The book is exciting and took me the entire time reading it. After finishing the book, I realized that's the afternoon. Better hurry and go to school before it's too late!

After cleaning my body, I teleport to the school. Wait, it might be a bit weird if any teachers or students see an intruder sneak into the school. Maybe I should cloak myself. I cast [Hide], which is extra-type magic that makes my entire body undetectable with magic and makes me look as if I should be here.

The spell isn't perfect. For instance, it continually requires mana while it's activated. Plus, the spell doesn't work if others know who I am. So if Ken were in the building, he would notice me instantly. Second, the spell will deactivate after revealing myself to someone. This usually is not a problem; however, when disabled, the spell will release excess particules that could reveal your location. I'm not doing a covert operation, so I should be fine.

After the spell was cast, I enter the building. The insides were what you might expect an expensive-private school looks like. The halls were decorated with expensive-looking pieces. After admiring the hallways, I walked down a random path. It ended at a two-way door. I slightly open the door to see a vast open area. It looks like a gymnasium. Benches are places all around the perimeter. Those inside are all playing a catching type game; however, a lone girl is sitting on a bench.

By the looks of it, it seems like the lone girl isn't injured but instead being left alone on purpose. Well, I have nothing else to do. Let's investigate!

I teleport to the other side, trying not to cause a scene. After teleporting, I walk around the perimeter to the lone girl. I sat on the same bench and faced the girl.

"Hello!"

This caused the girl to jump. She hesitantly turns her head toward me and then cocks it. "Who... are... you?"

Her voice is quiet, like those shy types of girls. She has long white hair and is on the short side. After getting a closer look at her, she is quite beautiful. I stared at her for a bit before getting my senses back.

"I'm Akuma."

After stating my name, a large amount of magic particules escapes my body. Oops, I deactivated the [Hide] spell. She reacts when the spell disabled too. No one can see magic particules unless they use a spell or have magical eyes. I have magical eyes since I can continuously see these particules. Base on your reaction, she might have magical eyes too...

After she stared at me for a bit, she blinks.

"Oh... Name?"

She points at herself. I smile and nod.

"My... name is... Onishi Tomo."

"Nice to meet you, Tomo. So, why are you sitting alone on this bench instead of playing with the others?"

She looks at me blankly and then down...

"..."
