10 Chapter 10: Magic Crystal Detected

"W-What? H-how?" While Ourin and his gang, full of pain, was still in shock of what happened...

An almost simultaneous kick hit each of them and made them roll a few steps away from their current laying position.

"You...you can't do this!" Ourin said pointing his shaking finger at Seely.

"Why not? You almost killed my brother back in the carriage a few months a ago. This is the perfect moment to teach you some lessons... hmm.. better yet why not just get rid of all the evidence. We don't want you telling others of my strength, right? I guarantee that I'll kill you the moment you said anything... but why would I do that when I can just kill you right now? Tell me a reason to not kill all of you right now?"

"I-If you kill us... We-Well scream! Then the back robed Knights will come!" Ourin said trying to hide his terrified voice but failed to.

"Oh?" ....

When Ourin was just about to try and threaten Seely again, his chest was stomped while a little blood flowed from his mouth.

"Still lying to save your pitiful and pathetic lives? Maybe you, Ourin wants to die first, I presume?" Seely still using a face contorted with an insane and murderous expression.

"If anyone could hear us here, you wouldn't dare ambush us and you haven't forgotten right? The black robed Knights doesn't interfere with matters like this or have you forgotten already when you had beaten my brother half-dead?" Seely still smiling maniacally.

"P-Please let us g-" Ourin said while he looked around.

"FURTHERMORE! ...don't bother... No one will come to save you hehe..."

"P-please we want to live!"

"Y-Yes Sir Seely!"

"We beg of you!"

"Please spare our lives!"

"Spare you? That's not a bad idea... but what will I achieved from doing that? Sounds pointless to me...and I am really in a mood to clean up some trash"

"Magic crystals! Weapons! even our clothes! Please just don't kill us!"

"Oh? Now... we're talking... How kind of you to measure your lives with magic crystals and weapons... You can take your clothes... I don't want see such disgusting bodies."

"Y-yes!"

Ourin and his gang quickly put every weapon and magic crystals they have in front of this monster like person they shouldn't had ever provoked.

"Faster!" said Seely impatiently."

"Y-Yes Lord Seely! " all of them said.

"That's all we have! Please let us go!"

"Hmmm.. not bad"

In the original timeline, Ourin still had energy to escape by trying to trick Leylin multiple times but with my method of acting as a terrifying monster that won't hesitate to end their puny lives... haha.. time shortened and they won't even dare to tell a single soul of what happened at least to the black robed Knights.

"Brother! Anything you want to say?"

Leylin was still dumbstruck by how Seely turned from a nice caring and kind brother to a vicious, terrifying oppressor. But it didn't mean he was against it... act or not as long as his brother can't control himself.

"Brother Seely.. I think it's better to not take all of there magic crystals."

'Seely, are you acting?'

'Yes, Are you satisfied?'

'Very, I need that crossblade.'

'Okay, brother...then I'll take those throwing knives.'

'Oh and Seely? ..'

'Yes?'

'Remind me to never make you angry.'

"Noted brother hehe. You heard my brother! He's being kind to you! Are you going to be ungrateful bastards too??!"

"N-no. Sir Leylin! Thank you for being magnanimous. As you know, these magic crystals are needed to get accepted into an academy. Thank you!" Ourin was crying and his hair was messy with snout coming from his nose.

"Its okay. Now go and take only the amount you need."

Ourin and his gang got back most of their magic crystals leaving 6 magic crystals in all, a crossblade, a dagger and some throwing knives.

"There's still a dagger. Do you want it?"

"Do you want it brother?" Seely said, already back to his normal cheerful self.

"Nope, This crossblade is enough. You need that dagger more."

"Then I won't hesitate!" Seely got the dagger and hid it inside his clothes while he took the throwing knives planning to practice with it later.

"Oh brother~ Look what I have." Seely was holding a pocketwatch teasingly.

"A pocketwatch? Can you show it to me for a second?" Leylin water to know how time is distinguished here.

"Nah, you can just have it. Catch!"

The crystal pocketwatch landed accurately on Leylin's palm. "Are you sure?"

"Yeah. If I need to know the time, I'll just ask you then."

"Then I won't hold back." Leylin smiled.

I wonder if Leylin smiled more in this timeline than the original.

In the former timeline, Leylin only got 3 from Ourin whom Leylin broke an arm but in this timeline where I, Seely, exist got 6 magic crystals instead of 3 and although Ourin didn't got a broken arm, I did made a crack in his ribs. Unnecessary movements in his ribs will hurt and it more than compensates the broken arm in the former timeline.

Ourin had 13 magic crystals in all, Leylin found out in the original timeline that Ourin was going to the Wetland Gardens and needed 10 magic crystals so he only took the rest with him. In this timeline Ourin still have 3 while the others in the gang gave another 3. They actually had some extra magic crystals but pity they only had an extra from each of their sacks.

Still the magic crystals have been doubled and this is also my first time seeing a magic crystal.

Leylin is still wary of the black robed Knights and there's also the 3 white magi that are all official magus. Although he could take all the magic crystal now, Leylin is still unsure of the attitudes of the black and white robes on this matter. He also doesn't want to use himself to test out their bottom lines. Thus, he left Ourin the sufficient amount of magic crystals for the entry fee. That way, even if they quibbled about it, Leylin had an excuse.

"That crossblade of yours looks quite pretty."

The hilt of the sword was decorated with beautiful flower patterns to prevent it from slipping from the hand. The scabbard was made from the skin of sharks, giving it a luxurious feeling.

"Indeed it does." Leylin felt satisfied. He can now practice with his own crossblade and wouldn't need to borrow anymore from George.

"The magic crystals are still on the ground, would you do the honors my brother?"

"You want me to pick them?" Leylin felt a little helpless.

"Keep them. I want you to keep them. Let's just say I have a habit of losing things because I forgot where they are. I think they'll be safer with you." Seely adamantly said. Seely knew this was a good way to show his trust towards his brother.

"Really? Hmmm.. okay but I'll give you the other half when we reach the academy, okay?"

"Sounds good to me"

Leylin then picked up the 6 magic crystals.

[Beep! Discovered an unknown energy source!] The A.I Chip alerted.

'So? Can it be used?' Leylin had an excited expression on his face.

[Searching the database...information insufficient! The method of usage not found!"

[Alert! An energy source with unknown radiation. Recommendation: The Host's body to strengthen defense!]

"So it's like this?" Leylin inwardly thought.

"Thanks to Seely, I've really made a profit! Furthermore, the magic crystals are the currency among Magi, so they are very useful for acolytes!"

"Oh brother, Can I see a magic crystal? I forgot from all that acting but... I'm curious of this "thing"? I want to touch one... can I? I heard it has magical power inside?"

"Okay, I'm getting hungry too. Nice acting by the way! Are you sure that was just acting?" Leylin asked curiously.

"Maybe...maybe not hehe" Seely said playfully.

"This brat..." Leylin said but still enjoyed his brother's company.

Seely hurried to sit. While eating, he can't stop thinking about what the system said.

[Chapter 8 is now available]

Leylin was observing his crystal pocket watch from one of Ourin's gang. The surface of the crystal pocket watch had fine workmanship, with twenty-four small frames inside. Each frame represented an hour.

Not only did his brother extort a weapon from Ourin's lackeys, but also spoils of war worth thousands of gold coin. This pocket watch was contributed by a small fatty.

As for the revenge from their family, the Dorlan family that Ourin belonged to was from the Bourbon Kingdom, which was a few kingdoms away from Viscount John's territory. Furthermore, the relationships between the two kingdoms were already in a state of hostility.

Not to mention that time it took to become a Magus was at least a few years, and even sending letters back and forth would also take at least a few years.

Leylin only gave it a little thought before throwing the matters between him and Ourin's family to the back of his head.

He kept staring at that crystal, thinking about something.

Leylin took out a magic crystal and flipped it around in his palm. It emitted a steady, cold feeling.

According to the calculation of the A.I Chip, although this magic crystal had some slight radiation, the effect it had towards the body seemed to be positive. It could enhance the body's vitality.

Ever since the rumours about me defeating Ourin spread, everyone's attitude towards me has changed. The reason they think it was me because Ourin wouldn't say anything about how he got beaten up. When someone suggested that it might be Leylin, Ourin denied it strongly and even said "Do not mess with those brothers" while putting on a terrified look. No one would think that the harmless looking Seely would be capable of defeating Ourin and his gang so the blame naturally went to Leylin.

"It had already been two days since the previous incident, and the rumours with Ourin being beaten up by me had spread among the nobility teenagers."

I guess Seely's acting was too effective? When Ourin returned, he immediately hid in his carriage and tended to his injuries. As for those nobility teenagers, they trembled the moment they saw Leylin and Seely. They quickly ran away everytime they see us.

"Hi! Leylin, do you want to play together?

A nobility girl from the same carriage came over and asked. She wore nobility attire, wearing something similar to stockings in Leylin's previous life on her long legs, giving off an alluring charm.

The custom of this world was to respect the strong. Now, Leylin felt that the atmosphere in the carriage was much better, and the others didn't try to go against them either.

Moreover, several other nobility girls also extended invitations to him.

'It's funny that this girls are all coming for me when the one who beat up is weirdly focused on staring at the magic crystal like he's holding a precious treasure. Sometimes I wonder if he'll eat it up by accident if he kept staring at it.

Anyway, this girl was in the same carriage with them, her name is Lilith.

"Girls nowadays are really maturing early!"

Leylin bitterly smiled in his heart.

"Haha...what did I just see? How many times has our young master Leylin been invited by girls?" An exaggerated voice came.

"How can I be compared to you? 'Satin Gold Mane Lion', your great name has spread among the female circles in the entire carriage!" Leylin rolled his eyes.

"Didn't you want to avoid me so as to not be isolated from everyone, are you no longer afraid of that?" Leylin looked at George who was the approaching .

"You're the hot topic in the camp now! Many girls have interest towards you. That Lilith earlier wasn't bad either. I can guarantee you that if you just put your heart into it, you'll be able to take her down in three days!"

George laughed, "Furthermore, I have to congratulate you on your successful revenge!" With a wave of his hand, a glass bottle drew an arc in the air and was caught by Leylin.

Opening the oaken stopper, a fruity aroma mixed with a tinge of alcohol drifted out, causing Leylin to subconsciously take a deep breath.

"Apple wine! I haven't drank much of this in these few months!"

"Correct! Furthermore, it's a speciality from our federation. It wasn't easy for me to have kept it hidden till now!" George opened the wine bottle in his hand.

"To our Leylin! Cheers!"

"Cheers!" Leylin smiled. Wine bottles knocked onto each other and emitted a clear sound.

"Oh, I almost forgot. Seely do you want tast-"

"Err... nevermind then."

"What is your brother doing?" George asked out of politeness to Leylin.

"Ahahaha ..Err.. He just loves magic crystal!..Y-yeah haha" In truth, Leylin doesn't know why his brother is staring at that crystal. Is this where the saying "All geniuses are eccentric" came from?

"I see.. well who wouldn't since they're very useful when we become official acolyte" George just agreed without thinking too much about it.

"Right.. Also, thank you!" Leylin turned back to George and said sincerely.

George had the strength of a preparatory Knight, and with his leadership status amongst this bunch of nobility youths, if he had taken any slight action earlier on, he could have easily settled Ourin.

However, he cared about Leylin's emotions and only helped Leylin increase his strength secretly. Besides that, he had hidden their relationship so that Ourin would provoke Leylin without any second thoughts. Finally, he helped Leylin complete his revenge.

Little did George know that it was actually Seely who did the majority of the "revenging" part.

Either way, what George did protected Leylin's pride as a noble very well by not interfering with his problem with Ourin.

From this, Leylin could see his meticulousness and his ability to take care of others' feelings.

"This is no longer about winning the hearts of people, but about using sincerity to move them. I should say that it's really worthy of Satin Gold Mane Lion's family, leader of the Furze Alliance!" Leylin thought inwardly.

"No need for thanks! We're all members of the Furze Alliance, how could I have turned a blind eye at you being bullied by those northerners!" George laughed, downing all of his apple wine in one gulp.

"Pity! Now that we're deeper and deeper into the wilderness, we haven't been passing by any large cities for a long time now. Even supplies are hard to find!"

George seemed to have recalled the taste of the apple wine and had some regret.

"Right! We're going to organize a barbeque banquet; it'll be for our Furze Alliance. Do you want to join?"

George extended an invitation.

"Of course! It'd be my pleasure!" Leylin smiled and responded.

"But...Seely?"

"Let me try something first George."

Leylin took his wine bottle and put it front Seely's nose.

*sniff*

"Hmmm??? What is this fruity aroma? Brother???... Can I have some?"

"Sure. Go for it."

"Thanks! Ahhh~ Now that's good."

It's like sprite but apple flavored.

"George is inviting us to attend the meeting of the Furze Alliance."

"Oh Right...is it already that time already?"

Thanks to the system, I already have the information for this chapter.

"What time?"

" Oh. Time to talk about the Great Plains of Death."

"The Great Plains of Death?"

"So you already knew?" Even George is confused of how a small nobility such as Seely knows this information.

"Yeah. Unlike my brother who was raised up and lived a healthy boy. I spent my childhood days reading books and gathering information." That's a lie. The information came from the latest chapter but nobody needs to know that.

"Why didn't I know about this?" Leylin asked seriously since the name is suspiciously scary enough.

"Because of that magic crystal?"

"Yep." Seely didn't even try to hide it.

"Sigh. Fine but explain it to me thoroughly."

"No need to waste your breath, Seely. I already planned to explain it in the meeting." George said hurriedly.

"You heard George. Let's just go."

Leylin agreed. With his identity as a noble from the Furze Alliance, he could only join this circle.

At times when one's strength was still weak, joining circles was also a method to protect one's safety.
