2 Chapter 2: Prisoner in Her Own Home

Thousands of years later.

...

"Mistress Death, a total of 4,646 souls have started rebelling," reported the creature of pure darkness. It had no defined shape as if a blob of darkness, yet, with its strength, it could crush mountains without breaking a sweat. It wore a pitch-black cloak that extended down and brushed up against a sharp scythe that was placed at its side.

At this second, this powerful creature was kneeling in front of a fair maiden with purple eyes that seemed to glow. She sat atop a throne made of white stone that stood on a raised platform. It greatly contrasted the engraved black walls that made up the huge chamber.

Coldly she replied, "I told you not to disturb me! And what do you do?!" Without waiting for an answer she said, "Do not disturb me unless Hell freezes over."

Her limbs were bound in chains, weighing her down, making her appear weak. Yet, despite his apparent advantage, the creature did not dare make any comments about her rude language.

He cautiously retreated from the room. He carefully closed the large double doors decorated with white skulls. He couldn't risk disturbing the mistress any more than he already had.

It was only when he had gotten to the end of the hallway did he relax. He had survived.

The creature swore to himself that he would never again let his colleagues force him into reporting to Mistress Death.
