A New World?

My name is Arthur and I lived in a world where the strong rule over and oppress the weak.

My world wasn't always like this but everything changed when the great cataclysm occurred 300 years ago.

They were two main events in the great cataclysm there was a pandemic that caused almost 50% of humanity to die out and then the second event where the corpses of the deceased started becoming monsters.

Strangely enough, the corpses that became monsters didn't attack humans but instead, they went into strange rifts which were later known as dimensional rifts.

Humanity was ecstatic about the monsters leaving earth but soon they would come to learn that when the monsters return It would become the event that almost caused the extinction of our race.

(A year after the monsters went into rifts)

Rifts started appearing all over the world soon the military started to deploy the army into the rifts but all their expeditions failed and the casualties were immeasurable.

The rifts allowed out monsters when they weren't cleared for a long time eventually in the future these would be called rift ruptures.

After the rifts ruptured people randomly started awakening superpowers the people who awakened superpowers could clear the rifts.

Rift ruptures were extremely dangerous they could even cause the annihilation of a whole continent thus the people who cleared those rifts were treated extremely well in return for their services.

Soon people found a special metal in the rift which could measure a person's future potential.

The potential of a hunter was divided into ranks the lowest rank being F while the highest being S.

Thus my world became a place where only the strong mattered.

In my world being weak was a cardinal sin and I constantly bore that sin.

I always thought what was the reason that being weak was a sin but I finally understood why at the end of my life.

After all, how wouldn't I understand that when I got betrayed due to that exact reason If I wasn't weak maybe I could have stopped my untimely death?

It all happened in a rift I was newly awakened and I had the worst potential possible.

I and my friends made a team and entered into a rift.

The rifts rank was D it was a pretty hard rift which I would normally never enter with my stats and potential but I believed in my friends this would be the biggest mistake in my life.

When we entered they were no monsters which wouldn't be the case normally.

But we still went in deeper then we eventually reached a place that looked like a cave but this didn't make sense because we were in a hallway just a moment ago.

Then I understood where we were we were in a double rift which was a rift within a rift.

A double rift was extremely hard to clear even for 5 B-ranks who were exceedingly well trained.

I told my friends about this but all they did was look at me.

Then one of them stabbed me and I couldn't dodge it because of him being a C-rank while I was only an F-rank.

"Why?!"

Arthur asked in a vengeful tone as he laid on the ground bleeding.

"You were a nuisance so at least help us lure the monsters away"

One of his four friends said while looking at his pitiful state and smirking.

(Arthur looked around)

"There are no monsters"

He said while bearly being able to breathe.

"Yeah you're right, to be honest, we were going to do this even before we even knew this was a double rift well it looks like luck is on our side now nobody will question your death"

One of his four friends said sardonically.

"Why?! I thought we were friends"

Arthur said in an acrimonious tone while holding his wound with his hand.

His friends said nothing all they did was laugh mockingly at what he said.

"We never thought of you as a friend all you ever were to us was a burden"

They said mockingly.

Arthur's friends eventually left when they noticed that the monsters were coming.

Arthur swore vengeance upon them even though he knew that he wouldn't make it out alive.

Arthur eventually met his demise due to bleeding.

When Arthur died his skill activated.

Even though you could determine a person's stats potential and stats you couldn't determine a person's skill rank thus Arthur had a skill that an F-rank would normally never possess.

"Reincarnation skill activated requirement death achieved"

"Beginning creation of a body and transfer of soul"

(Moments later)

"Creation of body completed "

(Moments later)

"Transfer of soul complete"

"Awakening host"

"Awakening host complete"

(Arthur woke up)

"What happened? where am I? am I dead?"

Arthur said while looking extremely disoriented.

"You are not dead"

A robot-like voice said.

"Who are you?"

Arthur said while looking around.

"I am simply something that is a bi-product of your skill"

"What skill?"

Arthur said while being confused but at the same time curious.

"It will take a long time to explain but I will not exist in this world for long so I will tell you the long story short you have been reincarnated"

"What?!"

He said.

"To find more information about this say "status bar" well goodbye"

The voice said then disappeared.

"Wait!"

Arthur said but It had no effect.

"He told me almost nothing all I know Is that I've been reincarnated and I have to say status bar for more information"

He said while mumbling.

"Well for now I will listen to his instructions"

He said not fully trusting the voice.

"Status bar"

He said.

"Status bar activation initiating"

"Checking if activator meets the conditions for activation"

"Activator meets conditions"

" The 13th activation of the status bar completed"

"Modify User's body to allow the system's voice to be heard"

"Arggh!!"

Arthur said in extreme agony due to the modification of his body.

(Arthur fainted)

(A few minutes later)

"Body modification complete"

(Arthur Woke up)

"What the hell happened! Why did I feel pain suddenly out of nowhere"

Arthur said with a voice still filled with agony.

"User activate the status bar again"

"Who said that?"

He said while still being in a painful state.

"Who are you?"

He said.

"I will answer your queries soon but activate the status bar or I will cease to exist"

"How to activate the status bar?"

"You have to say staus bar like before"

"Okay"

"Status bar"

"Status bar activation initiating"

"Status bar activation initiation 14% complete"
