6 A familiar scent

"It's not a place to talk. Let's get out here first." He tried to grab her arm.

She took a step back "don't even dare to touch me. You are just not shameless, but useless too."

He yelled "E-n-o-u-g-h."

"Yes, enough of you." Tears started to fell down on her cheeks

"Look lan I have tolerated you for quite some time now I don't want too."

"Wasn't it you who said you love me the most and never could hurt me?"

"lan I'm the heir of sheen entertainment. Why you thought I will love you. I never loved you."

"Oh so you were with me because of money and now you have to find someone else."

"Our families want us to get married, and she's my fiancé. I love her. Don't make a fuss here no one is going to believe."

Becky was burning with anger. "You…. How dare you say something like that to my friend you je*k"

Wengshen narrowed his eyes "AND who gave confidence to a mere worker like you to say that BIT*H"

"YOU..." Becky tried to slap wengshen when lan grabbed her. "Let's go, Becky, there is nothing left to say."

Lan tried to say something but her throat went dry. She was feeling dizzy. Everything was blurry for her she swiped her tears away with the back of her hand and turned around with Becky to leave.

They both left the place. Becky asked worriedly "are you okay? You want me to stay with you tonight?"

With her friend's words, her heart moved

"No Becky I'm fine. I just want some time alone to digest."

"Then let me drop you home."

She suddenly remembered that her home keys were left in the office. "No need it's already late I have to go to the office, my keys are there. Don't worry about me I'll be fine. Text Simon to come back and you both leave."

Lan holds Becky's hands and smiles "it's okay look I'm fine."

"Okay." She hesitated

Lan bid farewell with her and set into her car.

After driving for some time she stopped the car and burst into tears.

After crying for 10 minutes she wiped her face with tissue her eyes were red. her lips were swelling. She went to the office building. It was late but the finance department was still working so the building was open but the only 28th floor was lighted. The guards were standing at the entrance. After telling them the reason and showing them her ID she heads towards the elevator. And pressed the 11th-floor button. She was expressionless. But loneliness and sadness can be seen through her eyes. She went straight to her desk, took her keys and went back to the elevator. It was taking some time to reach. She was unaware of her surroundings due to pain in her whole body. Suddenly her phone vibrated she took it out. There was a message from Simon. She sighed she was focused on her phone so didn't notice a man who was already standing in an elevator.

She stepped in. she didn't lift her head. Mu Liang was watching her with his intense gaze. Her red eyes, swollen pink lips, perfect face with pointed features, flawless skin without makeup was arousing him.

Suddenly the elevator stopped and the lights went out. She tried to turn on the torch of his phone but dropped it. The phone turned off.

She felt someone else's presence near her. 'Strong scent, intense aura ….. Might be a man but why it feels familiar.' – She thought
