13 Chapter 13

Just as the helicopter landed back in the states Dante called Lilly and asked her to come and pick him up at headquarter, he gave her the address and waited for her to arrive...about 4 hours of waiting Lilly finally arrived this time driving a different car from her truck.

As she pulled up to the front she noticed Dante sitting down on the steps with a light smile on his face, she then looked behind him and noticed two older men, one that looked to be in his 40s and the other who looked to be in his late 70s.

"So that's your girl?" the man that looked to be in his 40s questioned slightly surprised of how slim Lilly looked.

Hearing his question Dante nodded his head and motioned for Lilly to come out and meet the two behind him.

When Lilly got out she stopped beside Dante and smiled at the two older men politely. As she stood there she looked over at Micheal and for some odd reason it felt like she had seen him somewhere before.

"You've grown into a beautiful young woman." Micheal stated with a light smile on his lips.

Lilly slightly smiled at Micheal's word and then she remembered where she had met the elder in front of her. She looked over at Dante and asked for her phone, after searching through her pictures for about a minute she finally found the picture she was looking for.

"By any chance are you the man standing beside my grandfather?" Lilly asked showing him the picture of her grandfather who looked really young and beside him was a man who seemed to be about a few years younger.

Noticing the picture Micheal smiled and nodded his head, seeing him nodding his head Lilly reached for her purse and took out a note the looked really old she then handed it to him and explained to him that this note was written by her grandmother who had just recently died.

"Before she died she told me the story of how you and grandpa met, she always felt like she was the third wheel between the two of you and that day when grandpa died she had never blamed you, it was because he was doing what he loved and that was she said that that was what mattered the most..." Lilly said as she handed him the old letter and smiled.

Taking the old letter from Lilly's hands Micheal felt a heavy weight being lifted off of his heart, he slowly opened the letter and started to read out loudly for the three around him to hear.

"I know that it must have been hard for you when my husband died, through out the years of being together I have been able to read him like an open book, the first day when he met you he would constantly write about how you were such an interesting junior. He bragged about you and time to time I would be jealous because I thought you were a female, but that day when we got together I could tell that the friendship between the two of you were strong...over the past few years I have been thinking about many things.

That day when you came to his funeral I felt that you had a guilty look on you face, I had really wanted to tell you that I do not blame you, he did what he did to protect the one he loves...now that I am laying on my death bed and awaiting for the time for him to come and get me I wanted to write this letter and say these few words, I hope that someday you will get this letter from my little angle." As he finished reading the letter he felt tears falling down his cheeks, for years he had wanted to hear those few words, he wanted her to tell him that it wasn't his fault and that things would be fine.

"Thank you..." he whispered holding the letter closely to his heart.

Lilly looked at the elder and felt like he look a little bit like Dante so she looked up and poked his sides wanting to ask him a few questions, but before she could ask Dante grabbed his things and held Lilly's hands lightly. He introduced the two people standing in front of them which gave her a shock.

After a brief meeting Dante stole Lilly away from the two who kept on asking questions after questions, while in the car Dante drove back to Central city while Lilly sat beside him holding onto his right hand.

"I guess we can't go hunting like we promised." Lilly spoke sounding sad.

"Next time, right now let's just eat out and spend the night together...don't you want to?" Dante asked lifting Lilly's hand and giving it a light kiss.

"I never said that, didn't you say you wanted to invite everyone to judge who cooks better of not?"

Hearing her questions Dante give out a dry laugh and took a right turn, he then shook his head no and felt like Lilly would be the one who wins if they were to have a competition.

Feeling sleepy Lilly closed her eyes and moved Dante's free hand to her laps and started to sleep comfortably.

Seeing this Dante giggled and dimmed down the light the radio was emitting.

After a few minutes of driving Dante felt Lilly shivering so he stopped his car on the side of the road and gently let go of the hand that was holding tightly onto him. After that he reached for one of his jackets and gently put it on her.

"It smells," Lilly winced as Dante put leaned back to the seat and was about to start driving.

Hearing her gentle whine Dante started to laugh and lifted his right hand to gently crease her cheeks.

Out of no where the gentle crease turned into pinching, feeling her cheeks being pinched Lilly opened her eyes and glared at Dante with intense hatred.

"I'm driving back, now let go of my cheeks." Lilly sighed trying to open the car door.

After getting out Lilly waited for Dante to get out, as he got out he slowly walked to Lilly and kissed her soft and alluring lips.

The taste of strawberries filled his mouth as he desired more of the sweet taste. Not being able to breath any longer Lilly lightly pinched Dante's side and moaned with dissatisfaction.

Feeling her nails being drugged into his skin Dante gently let go of his girl and laughed.
