10 Part 2 - The truth

It was cloudy the next day, as usual, Bless go through with his normal rehabilitation routine. He wasn't able to talk to Adam that morning about what happened last night with Emilia. Adam wasn't awake yet when Bless was getting ready to go to the rehabilitation centre. On the other hand, Bless wasn't able to get a good night sleep last night due to thinking about what Emilia asked him.

When he was on his way to the rehabilitation centre, he stumbles across Maria. Politely, Bless greeted Maria with a smile.

"Good morning Maria."

Maria replies the same thing to Bless as they entered the elevator.

"So how was your rehabilitation lately? Any improvement?" Maria asked as they stand beside one another.

"It was doing great. Nothing much really changes. I'm still struggling to walk normally and still have to eat a lot to gain back the weight I lost." Bless replied.

"Well, I hope you really do eat your food. You still look skinny," said Maria as she chuckles.

"Hehe, I would eat even more if the food here doesn't taste sucks," Bless replied to Maria, crossing his arm together as he looks away.

"Hey! it's not that bad once you get used to it!"

"I know but ugh! Can't they at least put a lil bit more salt in my food? It tasted bland! super bland!" said Bless. His face shows how upset he was about how the food tasted.

"Hahahaha, what do you expect? This is hospital food. It's not like your typical street food you can find out there that taste amazing. Now stop being a baby and just eat your food up! If you still complain about the food, I'll ask them to add more portion to your food that you hated so much" Maria replied, scaring Bless in the process.

"Y-Yes ma'am!"

Slowly the elevator descends, the blinking light from the floor indicator changes every second, showing them the number of floors they at as it moves. Bless realized that Maria is holding a file and he sneakily take a peek at it. He saw that the file belongs to a patient, the name written on it was Emilia Blanch. Bless suddenly asked Maria,

"Maria, how is Emilia been doing lately?"

Maria smirks and replied to him, "Hohoo~ aren't you always interested in Emilia lately,"

"Ah! N-No, it's nothing like that!" He's trying to deny everything that Maria speculates about him.

"Hahaha relax Bless! You're always stiffy around me. I was just teasing you," said Maria as she giggles.

"Hmm, about Emilia. Her mood kinda all over the place lately. You can say that she's not doing pretty good. Although she tries to cover her feeling by smiling," Maria reaction changes completely, she looks pretty worried about Emilia.

"I see."

Seems like Emilia is struggling with her emotions. It's understandable why she acts that way. She must be stress out about it and not to mention she doesn't have someone she can rely upon to really understand how she really feels. Maria just quietly gaze at him, sighing and said,

"She's a good kid, I'm glad she has someone like you to care for her. She has always been by herself from the start. I know a lot is playing in her mind right now. She just doesn't have someone to share the problem with," Maria look quite down as she tells Bless about Emilia.

"To be honest, I know about her sickness. She finally told me when we were hanging out last night on the rooftop. I just don't know how to react to it and I may have made her feel worse about it in the end,"

Maria looks over Bless, she was shocked for some reason.

"Wow, Emilia usually never opened up about herself to others. You were the first."

"Eh, really?" Bless was confused.

The elevator finally reaches the floor that Maria picked. "Oh, my stop is here,"

She walks out and turns towards Bless as she stood in front of the door. Maria just smiled,

"Bless, Emilia was never honest to herself or others. So, I hope you can help her in any way that you can. I understand what I asked you might be too much. But I can feel that you might be able to help her,"

Bless wasn't able to reply to Maria when she made that request to him. He just looks away as he grips his hand tightly while he listens to her.

"You made it sound simple. I do wish to help her any way I could. But I don't know how to," He said to himself.

"Anyway, Bless. What do you mean at rooftop huh?!" Maria quickly giving Bless her death glare.

"Hiikkkk! N-Nothing! I have to go now, bye!" Bless realized he said something he shouldn't be saying and quickly he press the 'close door' button in the elevator.

He was able to run away from Maria as the elevator door slowly close shut. He shows a sigh of relief when he safely avoids getting questions even further by Maria.

Hours had passed as Bless spend his time in the rehabilitation centre. He was completely drenched in his sweat. As soon as he's done with his exercise, he went straight to the convenience store. Hoping to buy some snacks and drink for himself. When he arrived, he saw Adam was sitting at the table all alone while writing something.

"Oh, it's Adam."

Bless quickly went to the convenience store and buy himself some chips. He then approaches Adam with a bag of chips and coke in his hand. He greeted him,

"Adam!" He tapped Adam's shoulder.

"Wha-! Oh man, Bless!" Adam startled for a bit before greeting him back.

"What are you doing sitting here all alone?" He asked.

Adam just glare at him and replied, "What? I can't sit by myself if I want to?"

"Hahaha! Relax I was joking!"

Adam just giggled back and said, "Hahaha I'm joking too. I was bored sitting in my room. So I came here,"

"Heh, I see."

Bless sat on the chair across Adam and handed him some chips.

"Want some?"

"Sure," He took a piece from the bag. At the same time, Adam was looking straight at Bless's face and said,

"Uwahhh, What the hell is wrong with your eyes. You look like a freaking panda dude"

"Eh?" Bless rubbed his eyes. "What you mean?"

"You got some serious eye bag man! You didn't get enough sleep last night?" asked Adam.

"Oh, haha... Maybe~" He looked away.

"Hmmm... Lemme guess, was it because of Emilia?"

Bless was frozen in his place and didn't say a word to Adam.

"Of course it's about her." Adam took a bite of the chips in his hand. "So? How did it go yesterday?"

Bless let out a huge sigh as he rests his forehead on the table "Yeah... Wasn't really good to begin with." He finally said it.

"So are you gonna tell me what happened or just whine yourself there?" asked Adam.

"Sheesh, relax. I was about to tell you. Well, what happened last night-" Bless explained the situation that he had with Emilia last night. As well as the request that Emilia made towards him. He told Adam how he felt regret for not be able to give Emilia his answer and in the end, he was pretty moody after that event and the eye bag was the end result of it.

"Hahahaha! was that it? Man, you can be pretty dense sometimes!" said Adam.

"You don't have to be scared if you weren't able to fulfil her request. What's important is that you give your best in helping her. Whether it will be a success or a failure, I'm sure she will be more than happy. Of all the chances you had last night, you messed it up, geez."

"Well, easier said than done... I do want to help her as best I could, but I don't even know how or where to start!" Bless complained.

"Get your shit together man. When or where to start, you don't have to think about it that much. I'm pretty sure you can work your way out in time." Adam quickly reaches out for his book and continue writing in it.

"Sigh, you're right. But how can I show my face to her now when I can't even properly answer her last night. She definitely disappointed in me now." Bless mutter as he bangs his head on the table.

"Heh, I'll be disappointed too if I were her," replied Adam, while he still scribbling up the book in his hand.

"Ugh... You're meanie... Not even helping me to comfort myself." Bless pouted.

"I did help you last night remember. If I don't encourage you to talk to her, we won't be having this conversation in the first place."

"Tsk, fine..." Bless landed his cheek on the table while his eyes look towards Adam.

On the other hand, Adam was quite focused on his book. His hand continuously scribbling in the book which made Bless curious about it. Bless grumpily stare at the book, wondering what Adam might be writing.

He pokes the back of the book and asked, "Hey Adam. What are you doing..."

"Hmm...?" Adam still focus on his book.

"Adam... Oi Adam..."

Bless was quite annoyed that even how many time he calls Adam's name, there's still no answer from him. Finally, he snatches the book off from Adam's hand and quietly stared at his face.

"H-hey!" Adam shouted.

"Geez, at least answer me when I call your name," He quickly looks over to Adam's book and peeks at what he's been scribbling. It was a list. Bless was quite confused, he slowly read the list out in front of Adam.

"Save the planet, buy a set of Lego Mindstorm, kiss a girl... Pfft... the hell is this you creep" He smirked as he read it out loud while looking at Adam.

"Oi stop reading it!" Adam's face quickly turns cherry red as he desperately trying to take his book back from Bless.

"Hehehe... Hands off man! I'm still reading!"

"Go to the beach, confess to Ms Maria... wait, wha-? So you have a feeling for our nurse huh~!" Bless teased him as soon he found out Adam's secrets.

"Shut the f*ck up!! You prick! Give me back my book!!" He able to grasp his book but wasn't able to take it away from Bless since he gripped the book tightly.

"Hahahahaha! Wait! I still haven't read everything yet!" He quickly took a glance over the book and able to see what's written at the end of the list.

'Be good friends with my new roomie, Bless'

'Survive'

He releases the book when he saw those words. Adam was jolted backwards and almost fall from the chair but manage to stable himself up. Bless apologized in the end,

"Hehe, I'm so-" when he was about to finish his word, Adam smacked his head with the book and his face fall flat on the table.

"Don't touch my book dammit!" He kept hitting Bless with the book until he is satisfied.

"Oh, come on! I was curious about it! Besides, you ignored me first!" Bless pouted as he angrily mutters at Adam.

"Next time ask politely, you idiot! Don't just yank the book away from someone's hand like that!" scold Adam.

"Tsk tsk, fine! So, what was the list all about?"

"Sigh, you really annoying you know that right... It was a bucket list." Adam replied while showing how tired he is with Bless's attitude.

"Bucket list?" Bless seems quite confused.

"Are you really an idiot or just thick-headed?" replied Adam angrily.

"Eh... You're a meanie!"

Adam start explaining the meaning of it to Bless,

"Bucket list, it's something people write about what they wanted to achieve and what they want to experience before they die. I just wrote it for fun, since people said it's a good way to waste your time."

"Huh... that sounds interesting. But aren't your bucket list kinda weird and childish, pfft hahaha!" Bless start cracking up when he been reminded by what Adam wrote in the book.

"Shut up! When you do a bucket list, it doesn't mean you have to literally achieve it! As I said, I do it for fun!" Adam literally gets annoyed by how Bless teasing him.

While Bless was laughing at Adam non-stop, he finally comes up with an idea,

"Wait, that's it!" He suddenly shouted.
