11 Part 1 - Our first Promise

"That's it!" Bless shouted as he slammed the table.

Adam was quite surprised and quickly hold the cup of water on the table to avoid spilling. He was confused to see Bless's sudden reaction changes entirely.

"Dude! what the hell is wrong with you?! Stop shaking the table! You're going to spill the drinks!" Adam quickly nagged as he desperately holding his drink carefully.

Bless quickly calm himself out the moment Adam shouted at him to stop, "Oh! Hehehe I'm sorry!" He scratches the back of his head.

"Oh my freaking god, what got into you all of sudden?!" Adam asked as Bless finally stop shaking the table.

Bless smile widely as he stared right at Adam, he finally replied, "Adam, you're a fucking genius!"

Adam startled, he doesn't seem to understand the situation at the moment just yet and so he asked, "What the hell do you mean?"

"The bucket list! That's the answer to Emilia's request!" said Bless.

"Okay... What does that have to do with her request?" asked Adam.

"Everything!" Bless shouted, "The only way to understand what I can help her realized her dream is by letting Emilia make her own bucket list."

"Look, as you said. A bucket list is something that people write about what they wanted to do or experience, am I right?. Emilia's request was to help her find the happiness that she deserves before she dies."

"So?" Adam asked.

Bless suddenly make a poker face and said, "Oh my god, I take back what I said about you're a genius." He slammed his head on the table.

"So, what better way to help her by making her own list. Instead of just writing it down, I will help her achieves every single one of her dreams!" Bless explains even further.

"Dude, are you sure this is good for her?" Adam starts being sceptical.

"What you mean?" asked Bless.

"Look, usually when someone wrote about their bucket list, they happen to list down an absurd type of achievements or things they wanted to do,"

"You mean like what you wrote in your list about dating with Ms Maria?" Bless teased Adam.

"Shut the f*ck up! *sigh* Anyway yes. What I'm trying to say is, what if Emilia's dream is something that you can't achieve? What if there are things she wrote down that is impossible to succeed?" said Adam as he rests his back on the chair.

"Tsk tsk, Adam oh Adam. Are you trying to ruin my mood right now? Wasn't you're the one that tells me to just give it a try? Whether I could do it or not, that's a different story. But I know one thing for sure, I will achieve every single one of her dreams without fail." Bless replied. He crosses his arm as his head pointing up in the air.

"Fine, but how are you going to tell her about this? All that we know right now is that she is definitely disappointed in you based on the last occurrence," asked Adam. Bless suddenly turned pale and wasn't able to answer Adam's question. He stared at the ceiling as he is reminded of what happened last time. He regretted so badly that he didn't give Emilia the answer that she was seeking before.

"Ah, chill man! Don't think too much about it!" Adam realized he shouldn't have said that.

"Ahhh! Adam! Help me!" Bless started whining when he couldn't think of a way to show his face again to Emilia. He viscously shakes the table as his head rests on it.

"Oi oi oi! Stop! Let's go back to our room! You stink! Come on now, MOVE!" Adam quickly changed the topic, trying desperately, avoiding himself from having to comfort Bless even further.

"Adammmm!" Bless was dragged by Adam back to his room as soon as they finish eating their snacks.

Bless pouted the entire time as they reach their room together. On the other hand, Adam tried his best to console Bless for dragging him away and saying things that reminded him of his mistakes. Bless was acting childish, he ignored everything that Adam said to him and quickly land himself on his bed. He looked over to the table in between his bed and Adam's, the clock shows '2:45 p.m.' Too early for him to meet Emilia in her room and he still hasn't thought about how he is going to tell Emilia about his idea of helping her.

'Ahh... Adam really knows how to kill my mood. I don't know how I should face Emilia again next time.' said Bless to himself as he buried his face on the pillow.

He looks toward Adam, He saw that Adam took his towel from the hanger and throws it right at his face, "Go take a shower dammit! You stinky bastard, you gonna make the bedsheet dirty with your sweats!" Adam yelled at him.

"Yes, Mom." Bless replied sarcastically. He jumps off his bed and took off his shirt. When he looks at the shirt, it was completely drenched with his sweats. Even he felt disgusted by it when he sniffed at it and quickly threw the shirt in the basket not far from the bathroom door.

Adam smirked when he saw how Bless reacts to his own smell and he quietly giggled because of it, "I told you didn't I? You stinky bastard." He said to Bless as soon he starts cracking up.

Bless was annoyed by Adam's word and he slammed the door behind him very hard as he entered the bathroom. Adam just laid on his bed, enjoying himself from laughing at Bless.

Bless turn the shower on and the water starts pouring onto his head. He tirelessly thinks of a good way to meet Emilia again and explains to her the idea he came up with. But everything that he imagined always ended with a bad omen in his head.

He squats quietly on the floor as the water from the showerhead gushes down onto his body. The steam puffed by the shower slowly covered the entirety of the bathroom. He sat in there for almost 15 minutes, Adam realized that and he shouted at Bless

"Bless, how long are you gonna be in there? Don't play with soap or anything man. It's bad for your health,"

"Shut up! I'm thinking!" Bless replied angrily.

A few minutes later, Bless finally done with his shower. All of the steam that accumulates quickly rushes out from the door when he opened it. He looked pissed for some reason, or more precisely, he looked annoyed from the face he was making. His body was only covered with his towel when he walks out of the bathroom. He grumpily looks over at Adam but didn't say a word to him.

As he was about to walk towards his bed, someone suddenly knocked at the door. They both look over it at the same time. Before able to ask who's there, the door began to open and Bless was quite embarrassed when he found out the person that was knocking is Maria. He desperately covers his body with the blanket on top of his bed.

"Maria! Please say it's you before coming in!" Bless shouted as his face slowly turns red.

The expression that Maria made at that time was hard to describe. Instead of smirk or embarrassed from seeing Bless in his towel, she was actually quite worried and scared for some reason. Her eyes linger all over the room as if she was looking for something.

"Adam! Bless! Have you seen Emilia?!" She quickly asked them.

"N-No, Ma'am." They both answered at the same time.

When she was about to leave their room, Bless grabbed her hand and asked, "What's wrong, Maria"

She was shaking when Bless grabbed her, she tried to answer him calmly, "Emilia! She wasn't in her room since morning!"

Bless was shocked when he heard the news. Without wasting time, he asked Maria to calmly explain the situation at the moment.

"Calm down, Maria. What do you mean she wasn't in her room this morning?"

That morning, (Maria side)

"Hiikkkk! N-Nothing! I have to go now, bye!" The elevator door slowly shuts when Maria saw that Bless was pressing the 'close door' button desperately.

"Sigh, kids these days. Always trying to cover things up from the elders," said Maria as she walks towards the staff room not far from the elevator. She looks over at her wristwatch and she realized that it is almost time for Emilia's breakfast. She quickly goes to her desk and put down the files that she was holding in her hand.

One of Maria's colleagues walked past her desk and greeted her. That person name is Hina.

"Good morning, Maria." Hina greeted her with a smile. Both her desk and Maria's were right beside one another. She sits at her desk as Maria greeted back at her in a rush.

"Hey, you seem in a rush right now. Are you okay?" asked Hina politely.

"Ah, I'm on the clock right now. I have meetings in 30 minutes or so and I don't have much time left to prepare Emilia's breakfast" Maria replied as she quickly keeps those files tidily in the drawer.

"Oh- I can help you-" Hina wasn't able to finish her word when Maria's phone started ringing. Maria quickly answered the call and she found out that the meeting starts right now. When she ended the call, she let out a long sigh.

"Ughh... Hina can you help me out pretty please! Bring Emilia her breakfast for me, okay?" asked Maria as she holds her palm together.

Hina just smiled and said, "Yes, of course! I was about to say I wanted to help you anyway."

"Thank you so much!" Maria quickly stands up and grabbed her coat before walking out the door. Maria turns around and looks toward Hina and said, "You remember Emilia's room right? It's on the 10th floor, room number 3."

"Yes, don't worry Maria. I know where it is," Hina replied as she waves her goodbye.

"Okay! Thanks a lot! I'll get going now!" Maria quickly rushes towards the elevator.

After a while, Hina finally brought the food to Emilia's room. She knocked on the door but no one answered. When she opens the door, she realized that Emilia wasn't there. Hina looks all over but there's still no sign of her. When she walks towards the bathroom, she heard the sound of water flowing from the pipes. She expects that Emilia is probably taking shower at that time,

"Emilia, this is Hina. I leave your breakfast on the table okay?" said Hina as she walks out the door. Little that she knows, there was nobody in the toilet at that time. The sound of water gushes out were due to the tap wasn't properly closed.

After a few hours, Hina came back to Emilia's room to collect the empty plates. When she opens the door, Emilia still wasn't there. The food on the table didn't move at all and the sound coming from the bathroom still can be heard clearly. She began to worry that something might have happened to Emilia in the bathroom. She quickly runs toward the bathroom, but when she opened the door. Emilia wasn't there either.

"Emilia?! Emilia where are you!"

Present

"Hina quickly look for me and told me the situation. The meeting was cancelled right away when we heard the news and now most of the staff members are looking for her. If you happen to see her, please let me know." said Maria to both Adam and Bless.

Bless slowly let go of her hand and replied, "We will, Maria."

"I will get going now. You two stay out of trouble!" she warned both of them and quickly leaves.

A few minutes after Maria left, Bless spends his time thinking about where might Emilia be. Then he suddenly remembered the time that Emilia sneaking out from her room to go to the rooftop.

"Shit!" He shouted suddenly.

"Wha-?" Adam jolted.

Bless quickly wear his clothes and walk straight to the door. But he was stopped by Adam when he suddenly asked, "Oi, where do you think you going?!"

He gazed straight at Adam with such a serious look on his face, "I think, I know where Emilia is right now." Bless answered.

"Great! Where is she?! We should wait for Maria and tell her where Emilia is," said Adam.

"There's not much time for that! I need to go there to make sure she's there right now!" Bless quickly walked out of the room and head straight towards the fire door that he and Emilia used last night,

"I'll let Maria knows that you found her! Bring her back safely!" Adam shouted as Bless walk further and further from the room.

'Emilia! If you're really there, don't do what I think you are going to do!' He said to himself.

He rushed up the staircase as fast as he can and finally he reached the rooftop. He opened the door and shouted Emilia's name non-stop as he was spinning around in a circle, searching for her.

"Emilia! Emilia, where are you! Answer me!"

He heard a noise coming from his back and he quickly turns around. He finally found her, but before he was about to show a sign of relief, he realized one of her feet was already in the air as she walked towards the ledge with an open arm. He desperately ran towards her at full speed and shouted,

"Emilia stop!"
