At the start of the story, the main character feels confused and struggles to adjust to the Tower, much like an ordinary person. While the main character is kind and affectionate, there are moments when he become angry and behave selfishly or maliciously. This story doesn't feature a perfect "Knight in shining armor" protagonist. He is human too, like you and me. If you're seeking shallow characters, you won't find them here. Every character, no matter how minor, has a backstory. Nox, too, holds a intricate past that will gradually unfold throughout the novel. _________________________________ This novel has taken inspiration from some of my favorite novels, such as: Leveling with the gods Second Life ranker Omniscient reader's viewpoint Solo Leveling and many more.... Even though all I can do is try, I will provide the readers with the best story possible. _________________________________ P.S: This is my first webnovel. The Goblin Settlement (4)

Taking in a deep breath, Nox mumbled, "Gigantification."

[The skill: Gigantification, has been activated!]

[Due to low vitality, only partial Gigantification will take place!]

The man's right hand began trembling as he felt a strange power surge through him. It was the same feeling he had in the dungeon of the zeroth floor.

Nox's right hand started to get bigger and bigger until it doubled compared to its original size.

Although the tracksuit was elastic, the right sleeve was blasted off when the man's hand buffed up.

[You have partially acquired the strength of a giant!]

"This particular skill is a bit taxing. So, forgive me if I don't play around with you for some more time," said the man, walking towards the Goblin King.

'A minute is the most I'll be able to use this skill.'

The Goblin king, who had been laughing until now, turned serious instantly.

Sweat trickled down the monster's forehead as it trembled slightly, 'Shit! I didn't know he was a part of the giant race! My skills are totally useless against those with otherworldly strength, like giants. I should have learned some skills other than barriers. SHIT!'

The monster raised its staff up in the air and began chanting something.

[The King of the Goblins, Uir, has activated the skill: Thousand Poison Shield]

"Ha-hahaha! No matter how strong you are. The moment you touch the barrier, the poison on top of it will corrupt you from within!!" stutteringly said the monster, breathing a sigh of relief.

Nox took a deep breath as he took a stance in front of the barrier. He curled his right palm into a fist and put his left leg forward.

Before an average human could complete even half a blink, his fist was on the other side of the impenetrable barrier.

[You have come into contact with a mixture of a thousand poisons]

[The user's exceptional poison resistance is trying to resist the poison]

[The skill, *Exceptional Blessing*, is trying to resist the poison]

[The poison has been partially resisted!]

Suddenly, Nox felt a jolt in his right arm. It was as if his right arm was simultaneously turning into jelly and stone. It felt as if a thousand needles were poking his hand one by one.

This feeling wasn't painful, but it was very uncomfortable.

[Your right hand has been paralysed for 1 hour]

'I guess that's better than losing my life to the poison,' thought Nox, walking towards the Goblin King through the shattered region of the barrier.

His right arm lifelessly swung around as it shrank to its original size.

"I-It's not possible!! Even if you were able to shatter my barrier, how are you still alive after contacting the poisons!!?" Shouted the Goblin King, getting up.

"I guess I'm a lucky guy," Nox replied, launching his left hand forward and grabbing hold of the monster's throat. Then, with a single hand, Nox raised it in the air.

Although the Goblin King had strong defensive skills, its own body was as weak as that of a player who had just entered the Tower.

"P-Please! Spare me!! I'll be your slave for the rest of my life!! Please!!" the goblin king pleaded as it wriggled around, trying to break free from Nox's grip.

The monster felt true fear for the first time in a long time.

Tightening his grip, Nox replied, "I can turn you into my slave even after killing you."

"No! No! I'm much more useful alive!! If I become your follower, then all the goblins under me, will follow you too! You'll have an army at your disposal!" The monster exclaimed, making an exaggerated gesture with his hands, "Just put me down and I'll tell you the rest."

Nox was a little confused. Had the goblin taken him for a naive fool? It was obvious that it was a trap. But Nox had time to spare. So he might as well play around with the monster a bit more.

"OK," replied Nox, with an innocent, smiling face.

The monster dropped to the ground. It gasped for air as it coughed violently.

It bowed down on all fours and faced the ground.

"As I was saying… I would like to offer you…" the monster stutteringly managed to say.

"YOUR DEATH!!" It shouted. Taking out a golden dagger hidden in its clothes, it launched itself at Nox, aiming the dagger at his face.

Nox exhaled.

"Well, I did give you a chance," he replied, gripping the blade of the dagger with three fingers just as it neared him. Then, with a swift movement, he easily broke off the dagger's blade.

"Wha-" Before the monster could finish its sentence, Nox kicked it, launching it to the other side of the room.

[You have slain, Goblin King Uir]

[You have levelled up!]

[You have levelled up!]

[You have levelled up!]

"I levelled up three times? Well, I guess it makes sense. If I didn't have the gigantification skill, it would be next to impossible to defeat it," mumbled Nox, falling to the ground and taking a deep breath.

Before Nox could rejoice in his victory any further, a message screen popped in front of him.

[You have completed the hidden side challenge of the fifth floor!!]

'A side challenge?'

[You have obtained all the wealth belonging to Goblin King Uir]

"All this is mine now?" Nox mumbled in disbelief, looking around at the piles of gold lying around.

[Would you like to convert all the gold into points?]

"Yes," he said. Carrying everything around as points were more manageable, after all.

[All the gold has been converted into points]

[Your current balance is 140,345,800 P]

Nox's eyes popped out of his shocked face.

"WHAAAAAAAAAAAAATT!!" He roared in disbelief.

'Wouldn't I be able to buy anything I want with this kind of money!?'

Before Nox could enjoy his newfound wealth any longer, another message popped up.

[You have obtained *Invulnerability*]

**********

Invulnerability (S)

Nullify all damage taken for 3 seconds

Cooldown: 14 Days

**********

'This skill is a cheat!'

'Even though it has a cooldown of two weeks, the skill itself is unbelievable!!'

A hundred million points, as well as a super skill like invulnerability. Nox obtained some incredibly amazing, unexpected things from the fifth floor.

"Yayyy!!" Nox shouted as he jumped around in joy.

During his celebration, his eyes momentarily turned toward the corpse of the Goblin king.

"Nahh," he mumbled, walking away.

.

.

.

Nox's shadow slaves were engaged in a fierce battle with the goblins.

Although the strength of the shadow slaves was undeniable, the sheer quantity of the goblins overwhelmed them.

It had almost been an hour since their master went inside the building. There was still no sign of him.

Roarrrr!!!

Red roared as it ran through the army of goblins, stomping and crushing anything that came under it. Then, waving its paw around, it sent the weak goblins crashing into the tents.

The shadow of the sword goblin, sprinting beside Red, took care of all the monsters Red missed. Their synergy was phenomenal, considering they had teamed up for the first time.

The shadows of the shield goblins protected the magician, who was at the rear of the battle, providing buffs to the shadow slaves. Even though the shield goblins weren't prominent in attacking, the magician's low-grade attack skills were enough to take care of mere goblins.

The Shadows of the Knight, Assassin and Spear Goblin stuck together and moved through the goblin army. They easily slayed all the monsters that dared to oppose them with their power.

The spear goblin growled, jumping on top of a goblin and driving its spear through the goblin. A group of goblins lunged at the spear goblin but were all blown away by the knight's sword. While both took care of the front, the assassin moved behind them, slaying any monster they had missed or anything that would attack them from behind.

Nox's shadow army had slayed a third of the goblin army since he entered the building. But they were unable to continue any longer.

After all, they had regenerated over and over during the war, constantly consuming Nox's arcane.

Ten minutes was the maximum that they could continue the battle for.

Creeeakkk!!

The eerie sound of the gates of the central building opening blasted through the air.

"Looks like you guys had some fun," said the masked man, stepping out of the gates.
