MTh: Reminds him of his mother?

Did this man plan to be her shadow all night?

"Ahem, Rein."

"Yes?"

"Don't you know anyone here?"

"Many of the people I know have already left. Why?" 

So this man could converse normally like this. Why couldn't he use this basic skill with the people they talked to earlier? 

He could converse well with her without offending her in every sentence and even knew how to prolong the conversation. 

So why can't he keep this up? =_=

"Oh, I see. Then, how long are you planning to stay here?"

Rein blinked. "You said you'll be staying for at least an hour." Then he kindly reminded her. "It's already past that."

"...I might stay a bit longer. How about you?"

"I am staying for as long as you stay."

Liam: .....Don't tell me this man plans to accompany me until I leave?!

How can I make good connections with people with a snobbish Rein around me?!
