13 NEW BEGINNING

IT WAS WEEKS AFTER THE WHOLE DRAMA- drama between the witches and the vampires- drama of the resurrection of Kol. It was truly a new beginning for the vampires and the whole town.

Kol as ascend to his throne as the ruler of the citadel. Its been centuries since he left the throne and went into darkness- Darkness which had gotten a lot of him.

A lot as changed since his absence- the cars, the fashion, the houses, the people, virtually everything as change in the town. It wasn't so some hundred years back, those medieval years where animals was used as a means of transport. Few years to his absences, cars and coal trains had been introduced but it hasn't had it ground.

Kol was so happy at the way Austin had handled things. He had every creatures under his tip. That as been Kol plan all along- a place for his children and his vampires to move freely. The only thing that didn't please Kol was the fact that all vampires now has the dagslys armlet. That shouldn't be so, vampires should have hierarchy and the lowest in the hierarchy should be a night walker.

He was ready to change that- ready to minimize the vamps in possession of the dagslys armlet. Kol knew that would bring a lot of fuss among the vampires. He knew most of them would be dissatisfy with it.... But he doesn't care!

Austin had vacate his office for Kol. He wasn't ready to cross path with his grandpa. He knew what would happen- he knew Kol might have been locked out for years but something was certain, he was still the same monster he was- the messenger of evil, the friend of the devil.

An emergency bell was rang in the vampire penthouse. All vampires trooped out in masses, they knew it was the beginning of a new era. An era most of them hasn't witness- an era totally different from Austin.

Lex walked slowly into the hall way, he was so determine to change- to change from those awful act- to change from breaking the laws. He had heard a lot about Kol, the way he discipline whosoever go against his rules.... Lex wasn't ready to get on the bad side of Kol.

"I'm a man of little words"

The voice came so clear and audible from the side of the hall and it frightened the vampires. Cole shivered in fear, he as plan to stay far away from Lex and Adam- so as to prevent further trouble.

"I set some rules before I went on my little coffin vacation" Kol began

"-but thanks to Austin, those rules were implemented and even new ones were added to it" he said smiling at Austin.

Austin was fully aware of the threat that Kol possess. He knew it won't be nice to stay far away from Kol- likewise will it be wise to embrace him.

"Many of you might not know me but I'm sure you all must have heard about me. This is a new era... And Austin have done a good job but I have little dissatisfaction-" Kol said

Austin begin to wonder what could cause his dissatisfaction. Austin had never seen any loopholes in whatsoever he does. He had even ruled the town more than Kol himself. He had tried his best to unite all the fractions... Something Kol and Gerard wasn't successful in doing.

"I began the vampire revolution from the day I made a step to get a dagslys armlet- That day became the stepping stone for the vamps. So that same dagslys armlet is a precious object which shouldn't be possessed by everyone. That object should be given to the higher hierarchy not just an ordinary vamp"

Austin seriously didn't see that coming. He didn't even have the slightest idea that such would happen... Not even so soon. It was like Kol was going to cause a disruption among the vampires. And a disruption among them would give the witch or even the Lycan great opportunity to start a war.... And if such happens, it would be so difficult for them to win the war, if there is commotion among them.

"Grandpa, can I see you?" Austin said

Kol smiled knowing fully well what Austin was about to say. So he followed Austin to a corner of the hall.

"Grandpa!" Austin called "you didn't tell me you had such plans- you didn't even bring it to my hearing"

"And must I bring it to your hearing?" Kol asked but there was no response from Austin "the dagslys armlet was an idea I thought of- an idea that I implemented. Even though my initial plan was for all vampires to be in possession of the armlet but then- the vamps wasn't as much as now"

"Grandpa- truly the vampires were few then but since every vampires had it then, my dad liaise which a witch to produce more.... And I also produce more"

"Well, guess you both didn't think about it well then. Since the vampires have increased so great. You should have created a great shield from them.... The night walkers will be the army of the night while the day walker protects the day. That will ease the work on every vampires and prevent the witches from penetrating"

Austin became so speechless- this was an argument he can't win. Kol had taken all his powers.... His opinion doesn't matter anymore.

"So Austin, guess you have seen my point"

Truly he had a point but Austin wasn't sure how the vamps would react- especially those vamps whose armlet would be taken from them. Austin could smell commotion but now shouldn't be the time for it.

Kol got back to the podium. He could feel rage even before he uttered any word. It was like the vamps have eavesdrop- the vampire super hearing was another thing.

"I know you all must have heard it all-" Kol began

"The requirements for being a day walker will be announced to you all in a short while but before that- Michael! Announce the new development" Kol said

Michael mount the podium. The vamps began to wonder what he want to say. Since Kol had began his new era- a lot as changed among the vampires- all their rules as been adjusted..... So the vampires wondered what Michael wanted to say.

"This hasn't happened before- but the supernaturals are going to volunteer five people among each fractions to enroll in the human school. This is a sign of truce-"

The vamps were surprise- A truce! That was odd- the vampires shouldn't be having any truce with any other fractions. They are the strongest in the citadel- the fastest- the most invisible- no other fractions can stand against them.... Why then have a truce?

"I know you all have your disagreement. I know you all have something to say" Austin said mounting the podium

"This is only temporarily. Just an agreement with the rest of the supernatural for the betterment of the town. Don't worry vamps- we won't let our guide down" Austin rounded but he was cheered by an applaud.

"So I want you all should choose who you want as your representative- don't forget the votes are all on you" Michael added and the murmuring in the hall increased.

Lex saw this as an opportunity to be a member of the outside world. So he was so determined to be chosen. Being in the penthouse all day could be tiring but he was so determine not to break the rules again.

Lex sighted Adam, who as been avoiding him since the incident that happened. There was time they met each other at the hall way, Lex tried talking to him but Adam ignored him- Lex felt so angry, he had made up his mind not to talk to Adam anymore.... It was like he was the bad influence.

Loneliness had began to cloud his head- he had lose his friends. Even Cole had spat it to his face that it was over. Lex suddenly felt so alone in the world... Thought of his mother ran beneath his mind, he was the only one without a family... No one to turn to... All he had now was Michael!

Lex walked into Michael office after the emergency meeting. He couldn't hold it anymore. He needed someone to talk to- someone to pour out his mind to- someone who is willing to listen to him.

He gave Michael door a slight knock and barge in even before Michael could raise his head.

"Old habits never die" Michael said as he saw Lex helping himself in.

"I'm so sorry for disturbing you... But can I have like ten minutes" Lex said as he sank deeply on the chair opposite Michael.

"What is it?"

"I'm lonely" Lex opened up

He was ready to tell Michael how he feels... Just like in the old days. Michael had been his number one friend even before he started moving with Adam and Cole. Michael was all he had after the death of his mother- Michael wasn't just an instructor to him- he was something more than a friend- Michael was family.

"It's been so long you have come to me... Even when I ask you whether everything is okay- you just nod your head" Michael said moving closer to Lex.

"Everything was okay- I guess. But since the day we were woken from our slumber- everything had changed. I lost my friends... The only one who makes me forget my troubles. They won't talk to me again- I'm now invisible to Adam, and Cole said I'm the source of his troubles...."

"I'm so sorry- I don't blame them. They all have their own issue- Adam is an Olsen and you know the responsibility of being an Olsen... That burden alone us weighing him down"

"I understand- but at least we are friends, he shouldn't just discard his friends"

"Don't worry, I will talk to him"

"Please don't" Lex said pleading "don't force him to do what he doesn't want to do.... Let him discover himself and chose what is best for him"

Michael gave him a hug. Lex was more to Michael, their is a secret only few people know about Lex. Michael have a great secret in his possession- something he was ready to protect with his life- something even Lex knows nothing about.... He was ready to keep the secret buried!

"Don't worry Lex, your problems would soon be gone" Michael assured him.
