"Where is the stone? Hinata." He demanded with a cold and dark voice. His behavior changed and he was no longer the Reo she thought she knew.
"C-chief... Reo, what is this?" She was unable to believe what her eyes saw, he murdered his own uncle in cold blood.
"I won't ask again, where is the stone?" The box which was believed to contain the all powerful diamond was empty.
"I said what is this!?" She yelled furiously as a yellow aura bursted from all sides of her body. She dashed forward at Reo unable to forgive him for this treachery.
"I told you, I won't ask twice." Before she could reach him, he vanished completely into thin air. She couldn't sense his magic anymore, almost as if he wasn't around anymore.
"ARGH!" Hinata's eyes expanded suddenly from the shock that reverberated throughout her body, she felt immense pain in her abdomen almost as if she had been hit with steel. The pain spread throughout her body from her face cheeks to her ribs and back to her abdomen.
Her body reacted to the pain, bending backwards, forward and sideways almost as if she was punched all around her body repeatedly.
She fell to the ground with blood dripping from her mouth, her body trembled from the unknown force that beat her up.
Almost immediately, Reo appeared out of thin air right in front of her. "W-what?" She stammered, finding the strength to utter these little words.
"I thought he was a flame type mage, how is he able to turn invisible and completely seal his magic? Was he hiding his true power?" She thought.
She held her stomach struggling greatly to rise to her feet. When she eventually did, she stared down at Reo who remained unfazed till now.
"What do you want with the stone?" She asked, coughing out the blood in her mouth.
Reo turned his attention out the door, uninterested in whatever questions she had. She was of no use to him as it seemed she had no idea where the stone was.
"I see." He said chuckling softly. "That bastard caught me good." He added referring to Renji, he walked towards the door with the golden sword he used to stab his grandfather.
"Wait! You bastard!" Hinata exclaimed, she wasn't going to allow him to get away with what he had done.
"You are of no use to me anymore, I recommend you stay where you are." He turned around immediately after realizing what might happen if he let her live. "Then again, you might prove to be a hindrance if I let you live."
SWOOSH!
His movements were sharp, swift and precise. Hinata was unable to see him coming but she could sense one thing, death.
"Die!" Reo exclaimed as he extended the tip of the sword at her chest with all his might. Her eyes widened as she could see clearly, her life flashing right before her eyes.
SLICE!
The sword penetrated a flesh, but it wasn't hers. It was Tunlop, just in the nick of time he sacrificed himself to save Hinata. The sword was driven through his chest directly. "Oh? You're still alive old man?" He retracted his sword from his chest and both Tunlop and Hinata fell to the ground.
"Now then." Just like before, Reo disappeared, vanished completely into thin air.
As Hinata came to be, she found the old man bleeding out in front of her which became quite alarming. "Chief!" With a pained body, he hurried slowly over to Tunlop to check on him.
"It's okay, you're going to be alright. We just need to find a doctor." She stared out of the house quickly, before she could call the villager's attention to them, Tunlop held her hands.
"Don't worry about it... My dear Hinata." He said softly.
"No..." She mumbled as she could see his life fading away little by little.
"Reo... He has changed hasn't he?" Tunlop said with a worried expression.
"That bastard... I'll make sure he pays for this!" She groaned slightly, holding her stomach tightly.
"I want you to promise me something Hinata, promise you won't allow my village to perish, promise me you'll save my village." With his dying breath, he made this single request.
Tears dropped from her eyes slowly, she began blaming herself for this. She was so into him that she didn't realize from the start something was wrong, her intuition suspected him the moment he laid eyes on the stone but she never considered it.
"I promise." She replied softly as the old man's pupils dilated slowly, indicating the sign of death. With a heavy heart, she closed his eyes before rising up to her feet.
Boiling with anger and determination, she stormed out of the house in pursuit of Reo.
..
Right outside the village, Renji stood face to face with what appeared to be the leader of the Drakons. "W-what are you?"
"I did not account for a human who could actually beat one of my babies in a one on one battle, but it appears you did and not just to one of them, to several of my babies." The reptile spoke in it's distorted and monstrous voice.
"That being said, I'm not so certain if you are a human." It added.
"What do you mean by that?" He asked out of curiosity.
"The fact that you're able to directly hold the Sphere of Aegis without reacting to it in any way or disintegrating says it all, but I fail to understand how you are able to defeat my Lamias." The reptile responded approaching him slowly.
"The Sphere of Aegis? You mean this diamond containing immense magic?"
"Do not lump our artifacts with that of your inferior race, the fact that you don't react to the mana it possesses could only mean one thing, you possess a certain amount of mana. Humans having mana? I find it difficult to believe!" As the reptile exclaimed, the ground and even the trees trembled at the influx of power created just from it's voice.
"Mana? Inferior creature? Just what the hell are you?" Renji said, pulling back slowly as he knew fighting this thing one on one was a death sentence.
"I am a divine being, and you lowly human will relinquish the Sphere." It replied in a much darker and ominous voice.
