1 Dark Alley

"Kuya Jason, time to get up! It's time to go to school."

"Ha? Oh my god! Luna why didn't you wake me up 15 minutes ago?! I will be late!"

Luna is laughing while looking at his brother Jason trying to brush his teeth and change his clothes at the same time.

"It is not my fault that you didn't woke up early. You have a cellphone you know you can put an alarm on it. " Luna said while snickering and watching his brother look like his trying to be the world's fastest one man show.

"You brat! I remembered I did put an alarm on it. Did you cancel it?! You will be the death of me kid. When will you grow up? Ha? Can you just be a good girl for a minute and just don't give me a headache every single time!" Jason shouted "Come here I will make you see St. Peter and the flying angels."

"Mamaaaaaa! Kuya is trying to kill me!" Luna shouted panicking

"Jason, stop that and hurry to school. Don't bother chasing your sister I will punish her for you." Mrs. Gomez said while going between her two children.

"You better watch out after school! I will put you in the sack and smoke you like grandpa did to brats back then" Jason shouted while watching her sister hiding at the back of his mother.

Jason runs at the top of his lungs towards the bus stop. "Heeeey stop!!!! Let me in!" He shouted while watching the bus goes and already left him. "I am dead the teacher will not be merciful. Luna you brat! Why am I so unlucky to have as sister like her." Jason sighed while walking towards the next stop. He stared at the sky and take a big breath.

"The heat this days are unbearable. Sigh! I forgot my umbrella." Jason exasperated. He looks at a dark alley at the corner "There is a shortcut there and it is a little bit scary but I am 16 years old already I can handle it." "I am already this late and the only shortcut to the next bus stop is right through that. There is a legend that many disappears at the alleyway but it's now 2018!!! There is no such thing as Engkanto!! Jason said as he is starting to walk inside the alley. He gets his cellphone on his bag and opens the flashlight.

He started walking slowly inside and see that it is not that scary at all. After a minute or so he started to feel cold at the nape of his neck. He then heard a little girl giggling at the back. He looks back and flash the light there but he can't see anyone. He started to get scared and walk much more faster than before. He heard the little giggle again and now it is much more nearer and he doesn't have the courage to look back. They are now more than one and they are getting nearer Jason is full of terror while walking as fast as he can. "Why did I went here? The legend is true. Will I disappear just like everyone else who went here? Where is the exit of this place?" Jason thinks and he is starting to panic now for he is now walking for 10 minutes and he can't see the exit. "This is not right this alley is not that long. If I can remember it is only a 2 minute walk if you can look at the block that it belongs to so why is it I am walking this long now? Ma, I want to go home." Jason cried while running. He can still hear the girls giggling chasing him and he can estimate that it's much more nearer than before and they are getting nearer and nearer.

"Am I gonna die? I'm only 16 years I am too young to die. I need to go home and punish my bratty sister. I want to eat my Ma's home cook meal. I want to see Pa after his work and eat dinner with everyone else while talking how the day went." Jason thought as he was running as fast as he can. He is starting to see a light at the end of the alley. The giggling girls is now so near that if they will try to touch him they can do so. He finally arrived at the exit. The light feels like it is welcoming him and he looks back and what he see shocks him to the core. At the end of the alley right before the light touches he can see that the alley is full of girls. They have grey skin, disheveled hair, red eyes, and their mouth that are giggling are slit until their ears. Their teeth are pointed and their tongues are so long and hanging. They are looking at him with pity. They are trying to say something but they can't for the jaws looks like they are disfigured. Jason slump at the dirt while shaking with fear for the possibility of them capturing him when they are at the dark alley. They look at him a little bit more and they started to go back to the alley.

"What the hell is that?!" Jason exclaimed while trying to get up with shaking knees. He looks at his surrounding and bewildered "Where am I? Why are their trees here? I didn't remember there is a park near our house." Jason said while looking at the vast trees in front of him. He walks and tried to find the exit of the park.

"Why is there no people here?" Why can't I see the exit? This is not right did I enter another world?" Jason said while starting to realize that he is not in his city anymore. It is starting to get dark. He can see some plants and trees that looks so extraordinary. He can hear loud cries of animals he can't comprehend. He can finally see the end of the vast forest. He is shock of what he see. He is now in a cliff and what he see at the front of him is a massive vast forest and he can finally what is making the loud cry. A creature that looks like a half bodied woman with a long hair and a bat like wings.

"A mananggal?!" Jason cried with shock. He can't move he wants to run but maybe because of shock his mind and body is not cooperating right now. He can see that it is fighting with another. He looks at it and he can see that it looks like a witch wearing a green gown and it is riding a broom. The witch is casting a spell at the mananggal while laughing hysterically and it seems as it is winning.

"Is that a pig at the back?!" Jason can't believe what he is seeing the pig is just riding at the back at the broom with a smug look on his face. He even looked like his bored. It is even wearing a tuxedo like clothing.

"The legend is true. And I think I end up in a world that is not mine."
