6 But I Didn't Commit a Crime?

A man in the back if the bus sighed at Taehyungs words. He knew that their covers were blown and didn't want to continue to listen to Taehyung's one-sided conversation so he moved up to the front where Taehyung was seated.

Taehyung watched the man move up. 'That's the leader I guess.' Teahyung ran his eyes all over the leader blatantly. 'He's kinda scary looking,' Taehyung thought.

"You the leader?" He asked with his brow raised.

The man nodded. He had black hair and tired eyes. 'Hm, working for the feds must be hard.' Taehyung almost pitied him just by his appearance.

"So... You guys are the feds, right? " Taehyung asked.

The tired-looking leader just nodded casually.

"So, why are you guys stalking me?" Taehyung asked while shifting into a more comfortable position.

The leader let loose a yawn that made him less intimidating before answering. "We received an anonymous tip that someone around you will be making an illegal weapons transaction." The leader paused as if to discern how much more information to give Taehyung.

"So we will be watching you. That's it." The leader said with a shrug of his shoulders.

'Illegal transaction. Damn... hope I don't get sacked I got a kid to raise.' Taehyung would normally find this whole ordeal intriguing, but Jeni's safety always came before anything else.

'Wait why is the transaction related to me?.. ' Taehyung thought of his bestie that was making his way into town today. 'Sh*t I'd better warn Chim to find a place to hide his "toys".'

Taehyung kept thinking about how he's locked on a bus full of feds. 'Never thought the day would come' He could already see himself telling this story to Jeni when she gets older. 'Ah... I wonder what she's up too.' Taehyung thought while fiddling with his phone.

" You're under arrest! You have the right to stay silent, from here on anything you say or do can be used against you in court."

Jeni's eyes were glued to the TV screen. There were handsome men in police uniforms arresting bad guys. Jeni was gleeful.

She sat on the sofa in Ms. Mary's house, munching on some sliced apples that Ms. Mary had prepared for her. Ms. Mary was seated beside Jeni, fully entranced by what was happening on screen.

"Jeni sweetie, see that actor? He's the most prominent in the industry right now," Ms. Mary exclaimed.

Jeni watched the actor who was interrogating the person the police just arrested. 'Ah... he looks familiar.'

"Ms. Mary that's handsome oppa!" Jeni mentioned excitedly.

"Wait, sweetie, you've actually seen him before?" Ms. Mary asked.

Jeni nodded her little head making her curls bounce. "Jeni met handsome oppa at the bar," Jeni spoke without leaving anything out. From when she ran away to when Taehyung found her. Ms. Mary was appalled. ' No wonder there was something different about these two.'

"Jeni you can't run away from your father. You're his responsibility and his most precious person. He would not be able to bear it if something had happened to you." Ms. Mary spoke with a rare firmness in her voice. 'Well, I can't blame her too much, that Taehyung never tells her anything just because she's young.'

"Jeni understands Ms. Mary." She had worn a pout so that Ms. Mary could see her sincerity. Ms. Mary looked at her expression and let out a wry chuckle and patted Jeni's fluffy head.

The two continued to watch television until a commercial came on. Jeni took that opportunity to call her dad. She wanted to tell Taehyung, that she found his wife.

"Tae-Tae~ Your princess wants your attention~" Jeni's voice sang trough Taehyung's phone. Taehyung's nonchalant expression warmed up a bit when he heard his ringtone. ' Aw, she thought of me. But this is really bad timing.'

The already awkward atmosphere in the bus grew tense as Taehyung's ringtone kept ringing. One of the agents got close to Teahyung and asked for his phone.

"Will I be able to talk to the person calling me?" He questioned.

His princess was calling him, Taehyung felt that it was his obligation as her father to pick up all of her calls.

The agent looked at his sleeping leader. "Leader Min, is it alright?" The agent asked.

Leader Min not wanting to be bothered just waved his hand and muttered, "It's proper procedure to grant a criminal one phone call."

'But I'm not a criminal, and I committed no crime? And why did he go back to sleep? What kind of leader is this?' Taehyung didn't quite get Leader Min's careless nature.

Ignoring Taehyung's confused face the agent picked up the phone.

"Tae-Tae! What took you so long?" Jeni immediately asked when her call finally got through.

"Sorry princess, somebody had my phone so I couldn't pick up right away. What's up?

"Tae-Tae, Jeni found your wife!" Jeni announced excitedly.

"..." Taehyung was dumbfounded. 'Since when was I looking for a wife?'

Jeni continued, "It's the handsome oppa from last night. Jeni was watching tv with Ms. Mary and she said that the handsome oppa is well known and respected in the industry. Jeni doesn't know what industry means, but Jeni thinks that means that the handsome oppa is rich. Tae-Tae you need to quickly marry the handsome oppa and take his wealth as dowry. That way you don't have to work so hard and Jeni can get another daddy."

Leader Min who was supposed to be asleep busted out laughing after Jeni finished speaking. "That's one heck of a kid you have there Mr. Kim." Leader Min managed to say through his laughter.

Taehyung just eyed Leader Min a bit before looking away with embarrassment. His face flushed red. 'Damn brat, talking nonsense. Where am I supposed to put my face? I can't continue to stay here in this bus.' Taehyung felt the urge to just hop off the still-moving bus to escape the shame he feels, but he knows that wasn't possible.

"Tae-Tae?" Jeni called out. Bringing Taehyung back to his senses.

Taehyung let out a sigh. "Princess I think even Ms. Mary is becoming a bad influence on you."

Jeni gasped dramatically at Taehyung's words. "Tae-Tae how could you say that. Ms. Mary so kindly took on your duty to watch over me and you deem her a bad influence. This is what you call... um, ungratefulness!" Jeni exclaimed through the phone using the word that Ms. Mary taught her. Taehyung could almost see Jeni wiping off a tear dramatically to show her righteousness.

Taehyung just shook his head as he looked at the agents all around him trying to suppress their urge to laugh. He felt that this bus ride was taking too long. Taehyung and Jeni chatted until the bus finally stopped at Central Plaza. 'Thank the gods. This horrendous ride is over.' Taehyung thought to himself with relief.

Before he left Taehyung made sure to say goodbye to Leader Min. After all, he will be watching Taehyung from the dark from now on.
