47. their fight(?)

Yuki has never seen someone with this sort of control and this was supposed to be his first time even knowing about his strength!

This man was either a monster or, a born-genius!

Yuki left him to himself and gave her all attention to that millipede, now she could finally see its head up close, they had just climbed to the third floor, it was the maximum height from which they could jump down from without getting hurt... well, at least, for now.

As if, sensing her presence, it paused for a moment before creating an obnoxious sound--

KUEEEEEKKKKKKKKK KIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

To a normal human, this was deadly and could lead to severe damage to ears, but Yuki slightly flinched, in normal times, she wouldn't even bat an eyelid, but the times were different and she was someone who knew to cope with any and every situation!

She finally felt that blazing presence of the man from behind her and said, "Are you ready?"

The man who had taken that dormant power under his control and in the way, had strengthened his body replied with that deep magnetic voice, "Never been better..."

Just like that, he took her by her waist and with light movement jumped down.

Yuki had expected this and transferred her own force into the sword, as hard it gets, she didn't have enough to protect herself... still, it was better than nothing, right?

With a heart-wrenching cry, that millipede broke the wall separating the building and the street and in a split second was crawling up the building with its mouth wide open... The millipedes boasted the strongest defence among other zergs and their jaw strength plus flexibility was nothing to sneeze at, but if you just forget them, they are simply a huge target!

Just before the moment of contact, the man let go of her waist, but the prepared Yuki held the hilt of her sword with all her strength and shifted her body weight towards its legs, without further ado, her blade directly hit the first joint of its leg and with gravity helping them, she used a little amount of her energy to stabilize her body and the rest went for the cut.

PAK PAT PAK PAT PAK

As the sharp sound of the sword cut the millions of legs on one side, they fell down like huge rocks on the open ground!

The millipede let out another loud sound that caused the world to shudder in terror, but Yuki was still level headed, as he landed on the heaps of its legs that cushioned her fall, she didn't wait and looked up, "NOW!!", she shouted...

With the signal given, the man pushed his one hand to the limit and swung the sword hard... everything should have gone according to plan, but at the last moment, the millipede showed it's flexibility as if, laughing at him, it chose to fall rather than be cut plus a weakened prey was just under it, the worst part being, it was doing all this by pure instincts!

With its gigantic size, the weight of it would easily cross the 100 Kg limit, if it fell on her defenceless body now, it wasn't hard to imagine that she would be squashed like a bug...

Yuki's eyes were a bit hazy, but she could still instinctively guess what happened... in normal times, her body should have reacted faster than her brain, but... it didn't...

Her fate and 'role' as an Omega, wouldn't let that happen, her whole body froze on spot... 'damn...'

All she could do now was, use all her energy to cut it down, even if she dies now, she will take this thing with her!!

This was the determination of a woman who had put her life on the line each passing day as a soldier!

The man saw her taking her final stance and the image of a something exploding in the night sky, flashed by his mind... this form of terror and helplessness... he had never experienced it... but he knew what it was that he wanted!

' I should have protected her', this thought was in a loop inside his head... he shouldn't know anything about her except for what she had told him, but at this moment, the strong feeling of protecting her... something that he couldn't at some unknown point flooded his reason and without knowing, he had taken the power that he had just learnt to control to the last level, he could feel the muscles inside his body being expanded and some being torn apart... but now, only the thought of saving her dominated him!

'I can't let her die another time', this thought flashed in his mind...

The next second, he finally transcended a level human should never touch... because the repercussion was unimaginable!

Still, he chose to fight...

Yuki felt the blast in energy from above her and somehow, she got back the feeling in her legs!

Still, in that split second, it became impossible to evade it so, simply stood like a mountain there... she will pierce it into oblivion...

He got his tail, she was facing its head and at that moment everything went still and they could see everything happening in slow motion.

They had somehow gone into their zone..

PIERCE

CLING

These were the sound of the two swords getting in contact with the body of that humongous bug... that reverberated around the streets

She had to face the whole weight while he would have to cut that stronger than an iron shell, but they will do it..

"To protect her"...

"To protect them"....

They will fight...

SWISH SLINNNNNGGGGGGGGGGG

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!" [x2]

With a resounding roar, the duo pierced and sliced that thing into two equal halves at a speed beyond human possibility!

Even the vessels of the zegs couldn't keep up with it and it's internal fluid only flowed out after it's whole body fell down in two halves beside Yuki, who was still at the centre of where its mouth was supposed to be!

They won!

This time, they won!

They had survived this ordeal!

But the next moment, the two of them fell on the ground with a THWACK sound.... their win wasn't without any sacrifice...
