"I hope you two get along", said a familiar voice faintly.

"you two?"

....

Feeling uneasy, Mellow forced his eyes to open. His back felt sweaty againts his shirt. The air felt stuffy, making it difficult for him to breathe. He sat up while trying to calm himself down. He could hear his heart beating rapidly.

...breathe in...

...breathe out..

Two beads of sweats trickled down his neck. It has been ages since he dreamt of his mother. "Why all of the sudden?", he thought. Mellow found himself facing up towards the ceiling. No wonder he was drenched in sweat, the ceiling fan wasn't spinning. Did he forgot to turn it on? Feeling sweaty, he stood up and took his shirt off.

"Why does this day feels a lot hotter than usual?", he complained. He went in front of the bathroom entrance and threw his shirt into the laundry basket. Then he went ahead towards his room to put on a new shirt. After he got himself a fresh wear, he suddenly frozed as he smelled something burning. Wait, burning? Did he cooked something? He rushed to the kitchen and his fire stove was on and his pot was shaking and something inside it was overflowing. What could it-

"AH! THE SOUP!"

Mellow immediately grabbed a piece of cloth on top of the counter next to him and rushed towards the pot.

Without realising, he was coughing uncontrollably as he lift the pot lid while turning the stove off.

"Heh..", he chuckled sarcastically. The whole thing was a mess. His dinner was overcooked, the pot lid had dent a bit and the whole kitchen smelled like chicken tomato soup. Mellow took a good look at the overcooked soup.

"....?"

He couldn't tell either it was still alright or not.

‎"I mean, it's still edible right?"

‎He grabbed a spoon from the drawer where he kept all of his kitchen utensils and scooped the soup. He analyse the soup for a second and took a bite.

‎"hm... oh?", it tasted surprisingly good. The crushed tomatoes had soften and the chickens were mostly well cooked. Woah. Well then, dinner is served!
